The Ice Duchess by Tracy Sumner
Oh how I loved this story, it was so heartwarming and I loved Georgie and Dex’s characters! Childhood friends that have been apart for over 7 years and are now back in each other’s lives. Georgie has always loved Dex but when he went away, she was forced into a marriage of convenience with a cruel man who was abusive to her. Now a widow, she loves her freedom and never intends to ever remarry. When she sees Dex, she realizes that she’s still in love with him but refuses to let it change her mind about marriage.
As for Dex, he now knows that he should never have left and that he loves Georgie and wants her to be his Duchess. He needs to thread lightly, though, since she’s told him she will never marry again. I love the way he makes a deal with her and how it all works out I also love the fact that he’s a geologist even though he has a title.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Honestly, I could not stop reading! I loved each of these books. They were simply captivating. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
One Wicked Christmas – Amanda Mariel*****
Sweet, steamy second chance. Love Christina, she’s very strong, independent and challenges the arrogant Adam. He’s very determined at convincing her but his plight is not smooth sailing
Lady Elsa’s Souvenir – Rebecca Lovell*****
Sweet couple, clean romance. Such a surprising souvenir for such a compassionate and adventurous lady. His love and acceptance endures regardless of the circumstance.
Smitten with My Christmas Minx – Dawn Brower****
Absolutely love Lady Adeline, she’s feisty, upfront and love her very supportive family. I think it was hard for Devon to shine which made him seem weak, his comeuppance was hilarious.
Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon – Christina McKnight***
Childhood friends. This was a forlorn situation and I would have liked for them to have supported and interacted with one another with more upbeat engaging emotions to balance and portray their affection for one another.
Prince of Frost – Angelique Armae*****
Sweet couple finds a love that neither is looking for, I still smile when I think about them. Mischievous siblings and stern butler are hilarious and very supportive.
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning – Sandra Sookoo***
Steamy suspense. To me, this seems like an extended epilogue to an existing story. It also left me wondering.
A Lass For Christmas – Jane Charles*****
Lifesaving and life changing chance meeting. Two very determined and independent characters are instantly drawn to one another. Love that this is instantly engaging and gratifying chivalrous.
The Ice Duchess – Tracy Sumner****
Down to earth childhood friends, heartfelt second chance, promises, romantic and matchmaking adventure.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An amazing box set
This is a an amazing box set of seasonal books by some great authors. The plots are full of emotional twists and turns, and the characters are all beautifully portrayed, the heroines are strong enough to overcome their obstacles. This is a great box set that will be suitable for all those who love spicy historical romances.
One Wicked Christmas – Amanda Mariel 4 Stars
Cristiana, Lady Kendal only wanted to feel alive when she welcomed Adam Brighton into her bed. Now she has a daughter she never plans for him to discover. That is until the Duke of Danby summons Adam to Yorkshire for the holiday, and he appears on her doorstep.
A well written delightful read with secrets & misunderstandings
Lady Elsa’s Souvenir – Rebecca Lovell
Smitten with my Christmas Minx – Dawn Brower
Bedded under the Christmastide Moon – Christina McKnight 5 Stars
Brigham Clarke, Viscount Whitmore, has endlessly championed those less fortunate than himself by introducing social reform bills in London all while his wife of five years, Melloria, remains alone in Hertfordshire. When Brigham arrives for the Christmastide holiday, Melloria has only one thing on her mind the seduction of her husband. Heart warming & so very enjoyable, I love the author’s books & haven’t been disappointed with any of her books. There was something so endearing about Brigham, a hero with glasses doesn’t sound sexy but Brigham was very sexy. Melly was a woman with a mission even if she wasn’t sure how to go about it. I read this story of misunderstandings in one session
Prince of Frost – Angelique Armae
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning – Sandra Sookoo 4 Stars
It’s the Christmastide season, and the Hawkins family is at their country estate in Kent. Emmaline, the Countess of Archewyne, is excited, for it’s her first Christmas with her little family as well as one of the few she’s spent in England. Passing his leisure time with his loved ones gives Miles Lawrence Hawkins, the fifth Earl of Archewyne, great pleasure, and he’s found the most splendid thing for his wife—a fresh archeological dig of ancient Roman origin on his property. When plans for Christmas Eve preparations go awry and Miles is taken hostage at gunpoint, Emmaline is at her wit’s end. Heartsick and worried, only a clue from some overly affectionate geese will be able to save her beloved’s life. A delightful novella that flowed well, a bit of mystery as well as romance & the hint of a second romance too
A Lass for Christmas – Jane Charles 4 Stars
Lachlan Grant, Maquess of Brachton, who we met in The Perfect Gentleman, is going to go to Scotland for Christmas & find a wife.
Madeline Trent overhears her brothers & mother talking & learns the family secret. She always walks when upset so sets out into the snow to sort her thoughts out. She’s so deep in her thoughts that she gets lost. She sees lights on in a house & heads towards it, unfortunately a snow covered lake lies in the way & as she crosses it the ice breaks. Luckily Lachlan sees her & rescues her from the icy water. There are misunderstandings, Lachlan thinks she’s Jordan’s mistress. These are resolved quickly. Another good read in the Tenacious Trents series. Its only a novella so was read quickly
The Ice Duchess – Tracy Sumner 4.5 Stars
Georgiana Whitcomb, Countess Winterbourne, is known as the Ice Countess for her rebellious ways and refusal to marry again. Dexter Munro, mere days from becoming the Duke of Markham, made a promise to his dying father to find a wife by the Twelfth Night. Except the only woman he’s ever desired has vowed never to marry again. Not even to become his duchess. Georgiana and Dex share a sizzling attraction and a wicked past but is their scorching passion enough to melt the Ice Countess’ heart?
A lovely story of childhood friends to lovers & Dex & Georgie have known each other forever after all he was her brother Anthony’s best friend. I loved both Dex & Georgie & their attraction sizzled, they both loved each other but she had endured a loveless marriage to an elderly Earl & once bitten twice shy. However the passion between them couldn’t be denied but would she take the plunge? I read this delightlful novella in a sitting.
Another wonderful anthology of eight novellas.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
One Wicked Christmas 4.5* by Amanda Mariel. Second Chance Romance. Adam Brighton, Viscount Radcliffe has no intention of marrying anytime soon and so when he finds himself developing feelings for the widowed Christiana, Lady Kendal he makes himself scarce. Two years later he is back at Danby Castle where his uncle has matchmaking plans for him. Thinking to escape and while away a few hours, he rides to Christiana’s house only to be turned away, although she is obviously at home. A trip to the local tavern provides him with gossip that he finds shocking……
Lady Elsa’s Souvenir 2.5* by Rebecca Lovell. A greengrocer’s son and a lady. Found this story too at odds with the class structure and how Society worked at that time.
Smitten with my Christmas Minx 4.5* by Dawn Brower. A case of mistaken identity. Believing Addie to be a maid, Devon pursues her in a way he would have never done if he knew her to be an eligible lady. Enjoyable story, though shame there was no epilogue.
Bedded under the Christmastide Moon 4* by Christina McKnight. A tragic story. Two childhood friends lose the ability to converse honestly after their marriage, leading to five barren years.
Prince of Frost 5* by Angelique Armae. Due to a stutter when nervous, Prince Leopold stays out of the limelight but at a charity event held unexpectedly at his home, Leo finds himself meeting the beguiling Juliana. A compulsion to be in her company and to protect her, leads to him standing up for her reputation.
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning 5* by Sandra Sookoo. One of a series, dealing with the King’s agents and traitors and returning to characters in other books but can be read as a standalone. An enjoyable Christmas tale.
A Lass for Christmas 5* by Jane Charles. A lady learns a disturbing truth, is rescued from certain death and shares body heat with a Scot. Loved it!
The Ice Duchess 5* by Tracy Sumner. A delightful story of second chances. Now a widow after a disastrous marriage, Georgiana relishes her freedom. She is not pleased to find that she still has feeling for her childhood friend Dexter and when he decides that only she will do for his future wife, a battle of wills begins.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from one of the authors. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved this collection of novellas, they each have their own hea. Some are part of a series that leave you wanting to explore more about the secondary characters within the story. I especially liked Adele and Devon’s story as I had previously read Jackerson Morgan Carwyn, the Duke of Whitewood and Lady Elizabeth Kendall’s story in Stolen by my knave and loved it. I was lovely to catch up with them and to see how their story progressed.

A Scandalous Christmas is a collection of Yuletide stories written by a very talented group of authors. These eight stories are varied in theme and style. I am sure you will find a favorite or two, but still enjoy them all. They are all very good reads in my opinion!
During this season we read and sing old favorites from our past, but sometimes we like to escape to a new time or place, and these stories make that possible. What was considered scandalous behavior certainly has changed, but joy and holiday celebration traditions live on. I highly recommend this anthology. I read this as an ARC and this is my honest review.
I enjoyed the diverse stories and romances these authors brought together. Each author had their own individual flair in telling their story which kept me from getting bored. Their distinct contrast brought each story to light and I really enjoyed reading each story. A must read. I highly recommend it.

This is a really good collection of Regency romances with a holiday theme. I enjoyed all eight of these novellas. They are nicely developed and well written with some great characters. Rogues, ladies, scandal, passion and holiday charm.
A wonderful collection of love and scandalous romance stories. This is a complete of stories about rogues and their ladies and the scandalous interactions they had. It is set in regency England and the love these couples have for each other. Each book has its own storyline and wonderful characters to make their individual stories ones you will remember!

Simply Scandalous
One Wicked Christmas – Amanda Mariel
The Duke of Danby is at it again. This time though his intended victim is doing the work for him. Adam was very full of himself after two years away he assumed he could crawl right back into bed with Christiana. So when turned away from her door he just went on down to the local tavern. But while there he overheard some gossip that clued him in to why he was not welcome Christiana‘s door. And how will Christiana deal with him when he once again comes knocking?
Lady Elsa’s Souvenir – Rebecca Lovell
I liked the premise of the story. There were too many details for me. At times I thought wait, what did I just read? A fantastic voyage. ? …
Dawn Brower – Smitten With My Christmas Minx
I previously reviewed Smitten With My Christmas Minx here is some of that review. Also it was just as much fun the second go around. The slow build up was just perfect. I loved Devon mistaking Addie for a maid. I would have never imagine Devon’s moment of enlightenment would arrive the way it did. Addie wished on a star and her wish came true. Devon loved her for who she was and they lived happy ever after. My only complaint…it was way too short.
Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon – Christina McKnight
Oh what one open and honest conversation would do. It would make a story very dull.
After five years Melloria has decided to make her marriage a true one not just one of convenience. Brigham felt the same but because of the misplaced guilt that he was carrying he was trying too hard to respect Melloria’s feelings.
Prince of Frost – Angélique Armae
I want to ride down Frost Lane. I wondered if Mother Superior had another motive when she sent Juliana in her her place other than her being so sick. I’m quite sure Phipps was up to something also. After seventeen years I felt Leos father owed him a little more than, sorry I misunderstood. In the end the Bear showed his claws and claimed his lady.
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning – Sandra Sookoo
This is a delightful addition to the Thieves of Ton series. I have enjoyed almost all of the books in the series and this is one of my favorites. What I loved about Beguiled on a Christmas Morning was Miles and Emmaline’s unyielding love for one another. Mile’s childlike love of Christmas and Emmaline’s desire to make it perfect for him and the children was evidence of that love. Of course with our couple being Kings Agents we do have a little intrigue. I’m hoping to find a little more about Viscount Trewellain and Miss Wickham.
A Lass For Christmas – Jane Charles
Ahh The Tenacious Trents another wonderful series full of swoon worthy heroes. And who doesn’t love a fine Scottish Hero? Lachlan made a mighty fine one. After eavesdropping and hearing something upsetting Lady Madeline decided to go for a walk at night in the snow. She ended up taking a dip in Lachlan’s icy pond. Little did he know, after some identity confusion, he had fished out his Christmas Lass.
The Ice Duchess – Tracy Sumner
True love survives even in a frozen heart and sometimes you have to leave behind a love to discover how valuable a love it is. Georgiana and Dexter were childhood friends but were separated when Dex and his father had a different opinions on what he should do. Dex went off to dig and search for valuable relics in foreign lands. Georgie was left behind to be auctioned off to the highest bidder which tuned out to be a mean nasty seventy year old. Now with her frozen heart she has the Duchess Society and instructs ladies who are forced into marriage how get what they want and benefit from it. What sent Dex away has now brought him home and he has realized what he left behind now all he needs to do is thaw Georgie’s icy heart. Very good start to a new series the Duchess Society. Tracy Sumner is one of my favorite authors she never disappoints.

Such a wonderful, wonderful collection of books to read for the holiday season!! They were all very good but I have to admit that I did have a few favorites that really stood out for me.
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning by Sandra Sookoo was so exceptionally beautiful and gave me such a warm feeling of contentment! Miles was truly a wonderful man and Emmeline was a courageous partner and wife. I want to read about more of their adventures! I also want to find out what the history was between the governess and Jonathan, their friend, and holiday guest. Something is definitely going on there!
Smitten with My Christmas Minx by Dawn Brower was a great story that tells about a young heiress, Addie (Adeline) who wants to know what it would be like to experience passion and be loved for herself and not for her fortune. Connor mistakes her for one of the maids at the house party he is attending under some duress as a favor to his best friend and proceeds to pursue her as a delightful diversion to be had during his stay at the event. A delightfully slightly spicy storyline with a good amount of subtle humor laced throughout.
A Lass for Christmas by Jane Charles was one of the first stories that I had ever read by this wonderful author and it got me hooked on reading all of the books related to the wonderful Trent family! Madeline was such a lovely person, inside and out and Lachlan was a hot, Scot that had to almost lose what he did not realize was the perfect woman for him before he manages to see what everyone else knew from the beginning. Everyone except her protective brother, that is. I really enjoyed getting to read this story once again!
I enjoyed all of the books offered in this collection and was pleased to be able to read the selections that were included by some of the authors that I am not as familiar with. Each and every one of the books within the pages of this anthology is well-written with wonderful Christmas themed storylines and beautifully portrayed characters!

What a collection! Each story is unique, clever, emotional and well told. These stories will immediately grab your attention and keep you mesmerized until the last word. The characters are rich, diverse and easily imaginable. This collection is full of male hearthrobs and intelligent fiesty women. It just doesn’t get any better than this!
One Wicked Christmas – Amanda Muriel
Delightful! As a widow, Cristiana entertained Adam, the roguish viscount. When he was afraid he was developing feelings for her, Adam broke off the affair. Two years later, Adam is summoned by his Great Uncle, a duke, who intends for him to marry the woman he has chosen for him. At the tavern, while drinking away his troubles, Adam overhears some news about Cristiana that tilts his world. He must make Cristiana his….and the game is on. This is a quick story with wonderful characters, fiery emotions, heartache, misunderstandings, secrets and a happy ending.
Lady Elsa’s Souvenier – Rebbeca Lovell
Elsa and Bryce had been friends since childhood, even though she was a lady and he was a grocers’s son. She and her aunt went to France and when they returned, they had an infant with them……Elsa’s baby. Well, that didn’t go over well with her parents and they kicked her out and threatened to disinherit her. Bryce stood by her and friendship bloomed into something else. This story has interesting characters, one big secret and a happy ending.
Smitten with My Christmas Minx – Dawn Brower
Delightful! Adeline’s family is having a Christmas house party. The night before guests are to arrive, she gazes at the night sky and wishes for love. Devon, an orphan who knows nothing of love, is coerced by his friend into attending that house party. He stumbles across Adeline (Addie) as she is decorating for Christmas and mistakes her for a maid. Maids are for seducing in Devon’s mind. Things get fun after that. This author is a gifted storyteller. She paints pictures with words, making her characters and their emotions vivid and realistic. This is a sweet story wherein two people who fear they are unworthy of love find each other.
Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon – Christina McKnight
Mellie and Brigham grew up together. When her father died and a cousin moved in to take over her family home, thereby evicting her sick mother and her, Brigham offered her marriage. Brigham, who was in love with Mellie, felt guilty about the marriage, feeling he took advantage of her desperation. Mellie, who loved Brigham, felt guilty about marrying him and keeping him from marrying someone else whom he coul love. They spent most of their five year marriage estranged. There is a sadness that permeates this story. It is full of the emotional conflict within both Mellie and Brigham, making the reader wonder if there will be a happy ending. Although there is a happy ending, this is no light read, but it is very well done.
Prince of Frost – Angelique Armae
What a yummy story. Juliana is an orphan raised in a convent, and Leopold is a prince who avoids the populus. Circumstances conspire to have them meet at a charity function being hosted by his brothers, but at Leopold’s house. This is a fun story where two people meet, bring out the best in each other and fall in love at first sight. Thie wintery descriptions in this story are breathtaking and the characters are quite entertaining…..oh, a a certain cretin gets his comeuppance. It’s hard not to grin at the ending.
Beguiled on a Christmas Morning – Sandra Sookoo
These two have clearly appeared in other books, as this story references previous adventures of Emmy and Miles. However, this story is so good that it makes you want to go back and find those books. Miles is an earl and former agent of the Crown. He is intelligent, thoughtful, virile, and clearly in love with his life, friends and family. Emmy is soft and fearless at the same time. She’s a doting mother and clearly head over heels about Miles. This story has a touch of intrigue and danger, and yet the true heroes are a gaggle of geese. Such a clever and fun story.
A Lass For Christmas – Jane Charles
Loved it! Maddie overheard some distressing news that sent her out walking on a snowy night. Lost, she had a mishap and was rescued by Lachlan. Due to perceived improrieties, there was talk of a forced marriage. However, honor prevailed and Lachlan was set free to go to Scotland, where he hoped to find a bride. Lachlan is really adorable as he tries to figure out what/who he wants. Maddie’s struggle is heartbreaking. This story is well written, very engaging and just plain delightful.
The Ice Duchess – Tracy Sumner
Loved it! Georgiana, her now deceased brother Anthony, and Dexter were childhood friends until Dexter left home to pursue a geological carreer, and her father married her off to the highest bidder. Years later, Georgiana, a widow of three years, and Dexter meet at a Christmas party. Both have missed each other, both have feelings for each other, but after an abusive marriage, Georgiana will never give up her freedom and marry again … and Dexter promised his dying father that he would find his duchess by Twlefth Night. The emotional turmoil felt by these two vibrates off the page. The steamy scenes are tastefully done and Dexter’s vulerability is quite endearing. So well done.

I love all these authors and was so excited when I saw they were coming out with a collection! Each of their stories were unique and had great romance though some were steamy while others were clean. The Christmas spirit was definitely there in each of them and I truly enjoyed these stories! The characters in all were good and fun to follow their love stories. This is the perfect collection for anyone who loves historical romance and Christmas!
