He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.
I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty.
But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.
All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with … a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.
I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

Adrian and Sierra’s relationship was such a gradual process that made the story seem realistic and had me rooting for them to get their HEA.
Sierra is broken and still hasn’t fully dealt with her mother’s death. She lives knowing that everyone is going to leave her so why get too close.
Adrian just wants a normal life. He hates the fame, obligations, and pressure of being royal.
Watching Adrian learn daily mundane tasks, and Sierra learn to open up her heart a small bit made me realize that their personalities complimented each other perfectly.
The ending was my favorite part. There was the usually drama, as with every book, but the way everyone handled the situation afterwards gave me hope and happiness that Adrian and Sierra would have a fun-filled, successful relationship.
Now I need the rest of these books because I know Dylan and Rian are not going to give in until the last minute!

Piper Rayne gave this fairy tale romance a royal and contemporary twist in their own style. And A Royal Mistake is born. This was an innovative and intriguing story of a prince without royal tantrums and a sassy woman who hides hurt behind her happy face. Adrian and Sierra makes an unlikely couple who makes perfect sense.
Sierra Sanders has a major crush on Prince Adrian Marx. And she is over the moon when she wins a date through a charity contest. But Adrian is not like anything she has imagined. He is gorgeous with high level swoon caution. He has an easy charm with the edge of confident gentleman who is not afraid to take risks and wants to live life like an adventure. They click instantly and they enjoy the night of fierce passion. But rather than parting their paths, a series of events make Adrian to stay two months in Sierra’s apartment. Two months before he sacrifices his happiness for his country. But two months is a long time when two people are falling for each other. What about his obligations? What about the side effects of his life in limelight? Does fairy tale really happen?
First of all, I loved how balanced Adrian’s character was. He is a bit reckless and arrogant. But he is a prince without the sense of entitlement. He is down to earth and treats everyone with respect. He exudes confidence and protectiveness and charm. And damn he is freaking mouthwatering sexy! Sierra is a complicated character. Her childhood was difficult and so she cannot trust people. She always fears abandonment and so she doesn’t let anyone in. But Adrian barged into her heart and she was completely disarmed. The chemistry is so dreamy! At the same time, it was angsty and emotional and heartaching. Sierra faced a lot of negativity from the royal family and the media. But she faced it bravely even if she had moments of doubt. Adrian’s strong support was amazing. They are made for each other in true sense.
Piper Rayne rocked the royal romance genre in A Royal Mistake. I loved this story because of everything I love about a Piper Rayne story. Witty and funny moments. Intense emotions gripping my heart. Smooth and free flowing writing. Fascinating characters who won me. And of course, the teasing promise of more goodness to come.
Received ARC for honest review
Once again the wonderful duo of Piper Rayne have created a world that I love visiting. The second book in The Rooftop Crew is another fantastic story in this series.
I really enjoyed this story and adored both Sierra and Adrian. I loved how they brought comfort to one another after both of them had been through difficult times and also how they managed to trust each other. There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, and some unexpected emotional parts as well.
Piper Rayne rocked the royal romance genre in A Royal Mistake. This story was everything I love in a Piper Rayne story; wit, funny moments, heat and a wonderful group of friends. A solid addition to a great series, and promises some other characters whose love stories I’m excited to read. I’ve enjoyed getting to know this group of friends and am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series, Rian and Dylan’s story.
I needed Sierra’s book after reading My Bestie’s Ex! Piper Rayne have always done an amazing job at redeeming characters that I wasn’t a fan of previously, and Sierra was the perfect example of this.
She was very frustrating in the first book but this time we got to see a “softer” side to her in A Royal Mistake. I loved the emotional aspect of the book. I felt like I was drawn in and actually part of this story. Watching Adrian & Sierra spend time together and fall in love was so sweet. They balanced each other out. I just loved every moment! And I’m dying for the next book!!!!
This book starts with Sierra Sanders winning a date with Prince Adrian Marx. A prince she has obsessed over. Oh, did I mention this woman is a journalist and works for the TV station? One would think this would end up absolutely terrible, but it ended up devilishly right. Not gonna lie. I swooned.
The chemistry is off the charts with Sierra and Prince Adrian. I am not sure what I expected from Prince Adrian but they both surprised me in the best of ways. They were down to earth, well developed, had great backgrounds, and a little struggle we had to get through.
I should have never doubted Piper Rayne and their amazing writing skills. I just really did not love Sierra after the last book, but now I kinda do. She just needed her Prince to show her true love.
Piper Rayne always does that to me. I know that once I dive into a book they have written whatever preconceived notation I think I can throw out the window because I am in for one heck of a ride that will leave me swooning, laughing, and enjoying every second of it.
Bring on the next book! I am falling for all of the Roof Top crew! They are so much fun and keep me in stitches!
This series is about a group of young adults that live in a peripherical city around New York City and how they cope with matters of love. Sierra is kind of the leader of the group, she is the one that brought Blanca in the first book and her apartment is the one that brings all the characters together.
She is a Royal buff and manages to get a date with the Royal Prince Adrian Marx. Adrian is supposed to marry a stranger and has a lot of royal family troubles to deal with. He wants a break and Sierra offers him a place to stay for a couple of months so that he can put himself together to deal with the future royal duties.
In the meantime, they fall in love and this is a fun, sexy with a lot of good characters and scenes that you will fall in love with them as well. It is impossible not to like these characters. Piper Rayne has a way of creating stories that are engaging and modern with witty characters.
You will love this book!!
Let me start by saying, I did not love Sierra in the first book. I thought she was selfish and I didn’t love her attitude. However, I knew that if Piper and Rayne felt like she deserved her own story, then she had to have some redeeming qualities that I didn’t know about. I am so glad I gave this one a chance.
I loved the connection between Sierra and Adrian. While they grew up with completely different backgrounds, they were able to find some common ground. They were sweet and swoony and a whole lot sexy. I really enjoyed reading their story and I can’t wait to see what comes next from the rooftop crew!
4.5 Stars
This book is every little girl’s fairytale, but also every girl’s nightmare. This is a beautiful story but it’s a little ugly when it comes to king and country. Especially when Adrian decides he wanted a different life. It was hard to read all of that, as well as the sadness that resides within Sierra was heartbreaking. I couldn’t imagine how she coped as a little girl, dealing with such a loss.
This book explains so much about why Sierra is like she is. I totally get her and forgive her for her actions in book one. So I fell in love with her character. Now Adrian was a dream, if not a little naive about how things would go when he wanted the change. But as a couple, they were fated and meant to be, in my opinion.
Now that’s as much as I can say about this story and I can honestly say, I totally recommend this book and this series. I can’t wait for the next one. Bring on the next couple.
Reviewer: Donna
I know that I am missing some serious back story with the rooftop crew and this wonderful group of characters, I will go back and read book one. But even though all the crew is part of this book, they didn’t overshadow the new main characters Sierra and Adrian.
Sierra is like many women, she is confident and strong in her career, working hard to get herself to the next step. With a little insider knowledge that there might soon be a promotion that she might get a chance at. She also has some shadows in her closet from her past that she just hasn’t been able to get past. Winning the date with the Prince, was to be a way to maybe push herself a little. She wasn’t prepared for the don’t want to act like a prince guy she meet and got to know that night.
Adrian has been very open with his family. He has no desire to rule in his fathers place. He is struggling with both what happened between his parents and the idea of an arranged marriage. To say he is throwing a royal fit is putting it lightly. The last thing he wants to do is be prim and proper and have to entertain a woman. As he starts to see Sierra’s wild adventurous side, he thinks he might have hit the jackpot with this one.
The more time they spend together the more they each step a little out of their comfort zone. Adrian learning more of the simple common life and enjoying it. Sierra, learning that it might be OK to take a risk. Things could turn out the way she wants.
This book is a great mixture of whit and humor, learning and exploring life and all it has to offer, friendships and family that are strong and caring. I am super excited to see what happens next with the rooftop crew.

So the cover is already an eyecatcher and after reading a small scene in My Bestie‘s Ex I already knew that I wanted to read the story about Sierra.
I kinda disliked here in the first book but after reading this one I know why she‘s the way she is and I can respect thag and love her for it. Adrian and Sierras story is emotional and very cute. They are made for eachother.
I didn‘t expect to enjoy the story this much because of Sierra but I really did enjoy it. The writing from Piper Rayne is as always on point and you just need to read it in one sitting. The idea behind the „win-a-date“ is so unique and I haven‘t read it before. The twist with him being the new roommate also was a great move. I liked how Sierra and Adrian where together. Sierra is a strong woman who had to learn from a young age how to fight for herself and for what she wants. Adrian is not really your typical playboy prince who doesn‘t follow the rules of the monarchie.
As every Piper Rayne book this one was great and I have yet to find one that I don‘t like.
4 out of 5
It was supposed to be one staged date. Dinner at a hotel, a few pictures for the press, and goodbye. Instead, dinner turns into a night on the town, breakfast in bed and a new roommate for the next two months!
I don’t want to give too much away, but I do want to say that A Royal Mistake is not your typical royal romance in any way! I loved how down to earth Prince Adrian was and how easily he slipped into living a normal life. He also fell hard and fast for Sierra and knew her and could read her so well so quickly. And Sierra is one tough cookie! But she also has a very vulnerable core that she never lets anyone see . . . except for Adrian who busted right through all of her walls!
The Clifton Heights gang is the best! It’s like a kooky version of Friends! And, I have to say, Dylan truly rocked it as friend of the year in this book!
A Royal Mistake was sweet and very unexpected. I didn’t see how his relationships could possibly be more than a fling, but it worked, and it worked beautifully! 5 stars!
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This is the first Piper Rayne book for me so I didn’t know what to expect going in. The beginning I thought was off to a slow start but they soon turned the story around to a faster pace.
A Royal Mistake features a reporter named Sierra and a prince named Adrian. She wins a date with him from a charity fundraiser. When they first meet the first impression is not what Sierra expected. The prince eventually gets his act together and it actually turns around to be a mostly normal date.
Spending time with one another makes them want to be together longer – though that can only last so long. In addition there are lots of secrets the prince is harboring and Sierra is mostly left in the dark.
What is it I always say? Communication is the key! I’m sure it’s triply hard with a member of a royal family as there’s only so much they can share with you. But of course they should be able to tell you they’re already engaged!!
Regardless you’ll be enamored with Prince Adrian. He just has a way about him that you want to get to know and be around. I suppose that will help make him a great leader of a country without a work around.
Pick it up. Give it a try. Let me know what you think of A Royal Mistake!
When Sierra wins a date with a prince, the last thing she expected was Adrian. What she thought she knew, what she thought she was prepared for, was something altogether different than what she got. Now she is on a roller coaster ride with Adrian, the only problem is when it’s over will she get hurt in the end?
I want to compare this to a movie that I really like, and I want to say that this is how that movie should have ended. But I’m not naming no names. Sierra and Adrian’s story was so entertaining; pulling us in, giving us feels, giving us hope.. then tearing that away…. such a roller coaster ride! I give this 5 stars, and on a side note: I really hope the guys get stories too!!
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Adrian and Sierra’s story. This is a beautifully written tale which these gifted authors’ have done an awesome job in penning. This story is filled with drama, emotion, and is a steamy and entertaining riveting page turner. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in the exciting series. I highly recommend these authors work for all readers.
“A Royal Mistake” is a fantastic addition to Piper Rayne’s new series The Rooftop Crew.
After getting to know Sierra in Book 1 and having some serious issues with the girl, we finally get to understand what makes the sassy redhead tick. There are layers to her that come to the surface as we get to know her. She’s a beautifully broken mess and ultimately that’s what makes her so relatable. A girl like that can only deserve one thing – a Prince in shining sweatpants to sweep her off her feet!
Adrian is a Prince and soon to be (reluctant) King of a small European country. Never wanting to rule has made him rebellious and defiant. After meeting Sierra things change. Unsure of his place in the world but confident that it isn’t on the throne, he follows his heart and mind and falls for Sierra.
“A Royal Mistake” is a sweet and sexy fairytale love story. TBR and enjoy.
A Royal Mistake is book 2 in The Rooftop Crew and it’s this is Sierra and Prince Adrian’s story a couple we met in the first book My Bestie’s Ex. I’m always excited when I see Piper Rayne is bringing out a new release and let me tell you this book was everything I have come to expect and more.
From the first page to the last line this book captivated me, I was drawn in by the characters, riveted to the story line and there was no putting down until the final word was read.
Sierra is infatuated by Prince Adrian Marx and she will do anything to get a story for the local TV station she works for, so winning a date with him seemed the way to go to get her story……
Adrian is next in line for the throne but that’s the last thing he wants so when Sierra offers him an out for a couple of months he jumps at it but life doesn’t always go to plan and sometimes we need to let out hearts rule our head……
Secrets will be exposed, hearts will be broken so does that mean the end for Sierra and Adrian ……
This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I sighed and I even shed a tear or two at the emotion this very talented duo injected into this entertaining read. I loved catching up with the group of friends know as The Rooftop Crew and I’m excited to see where we are taken next in this fun series.
A royalty romance with a wonderful twist. I loved Sierra and Prince Adrian. I enjoyed this book and their journey through the unexpected, true love, and royal drama.
Some mistakes are worth making!!!
A Royal Mistake is the second in the ‘Rooftop Crew’ series. It follows Sierra Banders(Blanca’s best friend from My Bestie’s Ex, book 1 in the series., and Sierra’s crush, Prince Adrian Marx. Yes, he’s a real-life prince, no pretend Charming here.
Sierra is a small-town journalist and has entered a competition to win a date with Adrian. She never in the world expected to win.
Except she does.
What follows is a whirlwind of a romance filled with heat, sexy banter and some serious past issues getting in the way. Sierra has a hard time showing her soft, vulnerable side and this makes her seem indifferent to what’s happening around her sometimes. She’s anything, but, though and hides her emotions deep inside. It’s only Adrian who sees through this and pulls the feeling out.
Adrian might be a prince, but he’s having a hard time too. His family is in crisis and they want him to step up. Only that’s not what he wants and when he meets Sierra and spends some time with her, he realizes he wants the royal strings even less than he thought.
Sierra came off as a hard character to like, never mind love, in book one. But, Piper Ryane has done an excellent job of changing that view. I truly do love Sierra now, and who can resist a gorgeous, fit real life prince. Not this girl!!
Also, there’s plenty of fun and inter-action with all the characters from the previous book. We get a snapshot of their lives moving on (especially Blanca and Ethan- let’s just say Mama Bianco will be happy).
Grab your copy and join in the fun with the ‘Rooftop Crew’.
It’s not secret that I love Piper Rayne. I loved that they wrote a romance that had a royal, fairytale feel. I completely devoured A Royal Mistake.
Sierra is a reporter. She has a fascination with the royals, so when the opportunity to win a date with Prince Adrian she enters. To her surprise she is the winner. Adrian isn’t a fan of being a royal, he doesn’t like the outdated practices. He wants something different. Their initial meeting was awkward and nothing like Sierra expected it to go, however, as the evening went on things changed. She got a glimpse at the real prince. Adrian wants a break, he isn’t ready to end his time with Sierra, however, he is cut off and needs a place to stay. It just so happens Sierra has an empty room.
I loved the connection between Sierra and Adrian. They supported each other. The comforted each other. They both grew up in very different lifestyles, however, they had both experienced tough times and were able to bond with each other. Adrian is super swoony! One he is a prince and two he is the caring, supportive, loving and will do everything he can to be there for Sierra, even when he barely knew her.
We got to know Sierra in My Bestie’s Ex and she seemed closed off and somewhat selfish, but after reading this book and getting to know more details about her background and her struggles it explains so much about her character. She opens up about her loss, her pain and comes to terms better with what happened.
A Royal Mistake is a MUST READ from Piper Rayne! I can’t wait to see what is next for my new favorite group of friends.
The Rooftop Crew series by Piper Rayne has me Wowed! I loved the stories so far and A Royal Mistake is a new favorite. My perspective of Sierra before has become a 180! She is amazing as the heroine of the story. She became perfect when she was around our Prince Adrian.
This story was fun, witty, and flirty. Sierra and Adrian became friends and better as a couple. The chemistry felt easy and you knew they were a hit. It was nice to revisit friends from the previous book. I love that Piper Rayne add their signature plot that has you laughing. I could not get enough and recommend this book! You don’t want to miss out!
