He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.
I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty.
But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.
All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with … a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.
I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

A Royal Mistake is the second title in The Rooftop Crew series, featuring Sierra, Blanca’s best friend and roommate from the first title in the series My Bestie’s Ex.
Sierra and Adrian’s story is an emotional story, that is quit full of drama, but also quite fun and sexy, with strong themes of family and friendship throughout.
I’m generally not a huge fan of royal romances, but I this writing duo’s books are always fun and engaging.
Sierra had a difficult childhood, that’s left her struggling to form lasting relationships with men. She’s a strong heroine who at times can come across as quite cold and stand-offish, but the more you progress into her story you begin to see it’s just a protective measure.
Adrian is a prince who has absolutely no desire to rule. He’s sweet, charming and sexy, but keep his cards close to his chest, some that could have lasting ramifications.
I enjoyed seeing more of the interactions between the Rooftop Crew and look forward to future titles in this series.
I really liked this book. I have read to many royalty type books but I loved the twist the authors put on this. Adrian wanting time be normal and willing to risk every thing for it. Sierra dealing with her own issues but really opening up to Adrian was awesome. I loved the banter between the two of them and all the secondary characters. It was a little heavy in spots but for the most part it was a light read with a beautiful romance. I look forward to seeing what’s going to happen in the next book. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I went into this book with a whole load of doubts. I wasn’t a massive fan of the first one and Sierra came across as a bit of a cold and judgy witch. But Sierra and Adrian were perfect. And I really did get to see a soft and sensitive side of Sierra and I felt her pain. I can’t imagine losing a parent and having the other one just shut down and leave you to deal by yourself at ten. No wonder she came across as cold and distant.
Adrian was so perfect not just in drawing her out of her shell and making her open herself up but also in being so solid and giving her a safe space to find her own strength. He was such a perfect character and I think the lovely ladies did an amazing job writing this reluctant royal.
I enjoyed the way the rooftop crew just took it all in stride. That group is so fun I love all their different dimensions and I can’t wait to get my hands on Rian’s book next. It’s kind of mean that I want Dylan to suffer and Rian to find love with Jax but my fingers are crossed.
A Royal Mistake is book two in The Rooftop Crew series. It can be read as a standalone but if you have read My Bestie’s Ex then you will recognize some of the characters. The whole Rooftop Crew are interesting and I couldn’t wait to read this one. Sierra is in infatuated with Prince Adrian.
Adrian is a prince but he’s not your typical prince and doesn’t really want to be royal. He just wants a normal life. Sierra wins a date with him from a charity site. I was so excited for her but I wasn’t sure if it was going to go well for her. Adrian has a lot of stuff he’s going through and he has secrets. These to have a great story and you should definitely read it.
Ever since I found out about the Rooftop Crew books I’ve been looking so forward to picking them up! Being a fan of royal romance as well I had to start this right away and finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed this story!
From how these characters are brought together to getting to dig deeper with them, Sierra and Adrian’s journey is quite the unique one! I really liked how I felt so many different things throughout reading.
I loved what the other characters and their friendships brought to the story as well!
With A Royal Mistake, the Piper Rayne duo created such a great read filled with feels! I am so excited for the next book The Rival Roomies!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
Piper Rayne continues to impress me. I wasn’t so sure how this plot and story was going to work out with Sierra and Prince Adrian, but I fell in love with these characters. A Royal Mistake is fun and flirty with some emotional moments. I’m really excited to read about the rest of the crew.
Sierra, a reported who always have been admiring the royal family from a far, got her chance with a real Prince Charming. This is one funny, sexy and light romance. There is a bit of drama, but not too heavy that it got way too emotional.
This book is fun and I can’ t wait for Rian and Dylan’s story!
I think many of us who read My Bestie’s Ex found Sierra to be a little irritating with the way she acted towards Blanca and Ethan, even if at times I could empathize with her. So I was interested in seeing how the ladies would be able to change my mind about her. I don’t think she needed to change, just my perception of her. And I’m here to say I’m a changed woman. I ended up caring about Sierra, after getting a chance to know her and seeing the real woman behind the facade she tends to put up.
I’m not much of a royal follower, but I don’t begrudge anyone who is- unless it becomes a crazy out-of-control obsession. Thankfully that wasn’t the case with Sierra- although she might have been skirting the edges there! But I did find A Royal Mistake to be a fun premise, with some underlying heavier feels as it went along. My heart ached for young Sierra, and learning about her past made it much easier to understand her as an adult.
The romance with Prince Adrian was sweet, but it didn’t come without its troubles, as you can probably imagine. While they both agreed at the start that things wouldn’t become serious, it’s kind of hard to deny your heart. I was glad to see Adrian fight for what he wanted, although I did find him a little childish at times, especially at one certain point. But in the end he more than made up for it. I”m not spoiling anything by saying it was nice to see Sierra get the start of her own happily ever after!
And let me tell you, I am more than ready for Rian and Dylan’s story…bring on the roomies!
Ok, I’ll be honest and say that I was not looking forward to A Royal Mistake because of how Sierra was in the My Bestie’s Ex. I’d say by the end, I was about to come around to her, but Adrian kind of stole the show for me.
I wanted to get to know Sierra on a deeper level and to see why she is the way she is. And I’ll say that her part in this story turned out to be a bit more emotional than I thought. I really did enjoy seeing the connection the she and Adrian had from the very beginning.
Adrian surprised me the most, he was so easygoing and rather different than other royal characters I’ve read about. He’s probably the most chill royal I’ve read and I found that to be rather fitting for Sierra. I really enjoyed his character the most and just how sure he was of everything. Even with all his obligations to his family and country, he lead with his heart. He stood up for what wanted and there was no stopping him to get Sierra.
The one big problem that I had and I might be the only that thinks this, but it’s ok. I thought the that Sierra’s previous relationship was highlighted more than it should have been. It kind of irritated me to see that happen throughout the story because it just made it seem that she was either jealous or just not over it. And it often made me question how true her feelings were for Adrian.
I did enjoy this and you can bet I’m ecstatic for Rian and Dylan’s book!

This is the second book in the series and one I looked forward to. Now Sierra left me with not a flattering picture of her from the first book. I’m so glad we got this book because we truly got to know Sierra. The real her and boy is there so much depth to her. I loved her and Adrian. They have great chemistry and an easy connection. It made me feel good that Sierra gets to have some fun and find the person the really gets her. Plus Adrian is a prince so yummy! There is a ton of emotion in this book. There is also plenty of feels in this one as well. The humor I come to expect in a Piper Rayne book is also present. I love the Roof Top gang so every book is going to be a pleasure to read, but the next book is the one I’m waiting for!
This was such a fun book and just what I needed to brighten my mood! I love a good fairy tale, and while it’s not a traditional fairy tale, this book had all the right ingredients.
Sierra was a surprise to me. I didn’t care for her in book one of the series; she seemed immature and selfish. It was nice to see a better side of her, and I did come to like her in the end.
Adrian was a character. An X-BOX playing prince with a stained shirt and cheese covered hands? I was immediately intrigued.
This is the second book in The Rooftop Crew series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is the second book in the Rooftop series. It is a standalone, but I do suggest you read My Bestie’s Ex first. You’ll see Sierra in a different light.
I will admit that I didn’t really like Sierra in the previous book. I thought she was selfish.
But my opinion of her did change while reading this.
Prince Adrian, the prince that Sierra follows on every platform…There’s so much about him that people don’t know.
Sierra sees the real him, and would be happier if he wasn’t royalty. And he sees the real her and breaks down her walls.
I don’t want to give away anything, so I won’t say anything more.
This is a great read.
This is the second book in this series and I’m absolutely loving this series. These authors are a very talented duo, they never fail to give us a story that draws us in and helps us enjoy our distractions from the world.
As always this duo brings us their perfect blend of drama, emotion, humour and so much steam that will make your kindle steam up.
Who wouldn’t be excited about winning a date with a Prince?!? understandably Sierra is and is looking forward to the distraction from what’s been going on lately. Unfortunately he doesn’t make a great first impression.
When I read the first book in this series I wasn’t sure if I liked Sierra or not. I could understand her not being happy with what happened but I don’t think she was fair on everyone around her. In this one as we got to find out more about her, I found I really liked her and could understand why she had sky high walls around.
Once Sierra and Adrian got through their first meeting the chemistry was seriously hot between them. Adrian really was sweet and made me swoon big time over how he treated Sierra.
I can’t wait to see what they bring us with Rian’s book. I’m torn between what I want to happen but I think that this talented duo will make it brilliant as usual.
A Royal Mistake wins the crown in my book! I’m a fairy tale lover, but mix in some steamy times, romance, comedy and secrets…I’m a goner. I’ve loved all of Piper Rayne’s books, but after reading the first one in the Rooftop Crew series My Bestie’s Ex, I was not a fan of Sierra, so I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to relate at all to her character…but I was SO wrong. This story isn’t all fun times and romance, there were moments that will pull at your heart strings and make you love certain characters even more. I love Sierra and Adrian, and can’t wait to see who’s story is told next in the series!
Sierra is in for a surprise when tossing her hat in the ring to win a date with Adrian, the Crown Prince and heir to the throne of another country. Not only does she win – Adrian is looking to spend a couple months living a normal life. Step one of Operation Normal Life? Find a place to live discreetly so no one outs him. Sierra has just the place for him to move.
He assimilates well and quickly – including being open to a romantic relationship with Sierra. They burn up the pages and have enough chemistry to create a chemical reaction!
But the situation isn’t easy – Adrian is expected to rule and he’s been promised to a Princess. Sierra thinks she’s unworthy of love from anyone and is slow to really trust. Despite the difficulties facing them, it’s clear they are devoted to one another.
I loved them each and their relationship. There’s no forced drama or insincere obstacles. Their relationship is authentic and they keep the communication between them open. The friend group here is also amazing – there’s so much love and support and it gives the story another layer of depth that I really appreciate.
Give it up for the Prince and his Wonder Woman because they are on an entirely different level.

I am absolutely loving this series!
I have to admit, I was a little worried about how Sierra would come across after meeting her in the first book, My Bestie’s Ex. However, I should have known better! This author duo knew exactly what they were doing and I loved it!
Sierra won a dinner with Prince Adrian, who she has media “stalked” and crushed on from afar for forever. When it leads to him moving into her spare bedroom, things get complicated and even more so when Sierra learns of Prince Adrian’s fiancé. Their journey to a happily ever after is emotional but so dang sweet. They are truly made for each other.
I can’t wait for the next books in this series! I love each member of The Rooftop Crew, and am nowhere near ready to say goodbye!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
What a hook of a blurb! While I’ve read Piper Rayne books in the past, this was the first one I read from this story. I definitely wish I would’ve read the first book in the series, as it would have given me a better understanding of Sierra and her personality, but thankfully this author writes books that you can read and understand without having read previous ones! Obsessed with the Prince of Sandoval, Sierra enters a royal contest and ends up winning a night with the prince himself. Adrian has always put up a fight towards his birthright and given everyone a hard time, and after meeting Sierra, he gets the perfect opportunity to live like a commoner with the help of Sierra and her friends. Overall it was a great story and storyline. I would’ve loved to get more about Adrian and adapting to work, but the three-week jump did make sense or the book would’ve been longer. So happy for the ending these two got – well deserved and a great middle ground for the royals involved. Interested to see who’s next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Sierra, the ex from My Bestie’s Ex, who was really unlikable in that story, wins a date with Prince Adrian and their connection is formed when it becomes obvious that chemistry is just one of those unpredictable things. But how can a journalist and a prince who doesn’t want to rule, be together? Well, if certain people have their way, they won’t be together. Is Adrian and Sierra’s will stronger than that of their opposition? What about when Sierra finds out a little tiny detail he omitted when they talked and talked and forged that bond?
I honestly had no idea how these two authors were going to make Sierra likable, as I could not stand her in My Bestie’s Ex. But true to form, they prevailed and I ended up loving her. She’s actually a great heroine with a big heart and a strong backbone, perfect for the prince who didn’t want to rule.
I loved this twist of a tale. Who doesn’t want a date with a prince? It’s a love story for the books. The roller coaster of emotions will keep you on your toes. The characters both main and secondary are easy to connect with and more like your real life friends. This is such a complex book filled with so many great parts I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series it’s so refreshing how the characters make a quick appearance from past books. This is one series you won’t want to miss.
Sierra has a crush on Prince Adrian and she wins a date with him. He ends up being her roommate. Prince Adrian really doesn’t want to be a prince or marry the princess. The two end up as friends and much more. Can they weather the personal, family and trouble as a couple they will face? A crazy time with all the media and other shenanigans will keep you reading this story.
