He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.
I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty.
But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.
All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with … a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.
I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

The latest from Piper Rayne!
Crowned a winner!
A Royal Mistake is the second book in the Rooftop Crew series.
This book is of Sierra and Prince Adrian.
I didn’t care for Sierra in the first book, My Bestie’s Ex. I wasn’t sure she could be redeemed or like able.
I was wrong!
But by the end of this book I was Team Sierra!
In true Piper Rayne style, you get a mixture of snark and humor, relatable friendships and family that are loyal, strong and caring.
I look forward to what happens next with the rooftop crew.

I am so glad to see Sierra’s story! She was a bit misunderstood in the first book in this new series but I could so empathize with her!
This is Adrian and Sierra’s story.
Sierra wins a contest for a date with Prince Adrian and when they meet, well….the prince doesn’t make a great first impression!
Sierra is such a complex character, I admired how honest Piper and Rayne were with her feelings and emotions, both towards Adrian and with her friends. I could empathize with her childhood, as a veteran and a military wife, my heart broke for her. Sierra is so strong, almost too strong, she has walls built so high around her that nobody can really see her true self. Until Adrian…
Adrian, well he was princely in all the ways. Sometimes headstrong and aloof, sometimes oblivious to what is going on around him, but boy when he loves, he loves hard and he knows just what Sierra needs.
I love this crew! This rooftop crew! The dynamic of this group of friends is fantastic and I cannot wait for the next story from them!
Let me start off by stating that after meeting Sierra in My Bestie’s Ex I was definitely not her biggest fan; however, the faith I have in Piper Rayne to deliver a story that will have me loving said character is why I’ll read anything they write! Sierra’s journey was an emotional one that was about proving to herself she deserved happiness, going after what she wanted and proving to herself she’s worth it! Adrian’s story was about showing his family that he was not going to have his life dictated to him, he wanted to live his life…..fall in love. These two didn’t have it easy but they were determined to show everyone that together they could take on the world! This series has already started off amazingly and I’m so excited for what’s to come!
Of course another amazing book by one of my favorite writing duo’s ever!!! First of Sierra was not my favorite of this crew but I knew Piper and Rayne would let us into her heart and find out she she really was. And of course she was just misunderstood. Although she did have a stalkerish crush on Prince Adrian and won a date with him. He just wanted to be normal and to actually find someone he could connect with. And the more they got to know each other the more they fell. But of course there is someone in Adrians life Sierra didn’t know about. Would it cause this couple issues before they even really had a chance? Or would they get an HEA? And if you have read Piper Rayne before you might know. But I highly recommend that you read this book as well as all the other ones!!!

Good story line and building of characters. Enjoyed reading it.
I am enjoying the rooftop crew series, and love staying connected to all of the characters. The story plot was good, although it seemed a little too unrealistic. However it was nice to branch off into Sierra’s life after (spoiler alert) her best friend is now dating and living with her ex. I can’t wait to dive in to Rian’s and Dylan’s story next.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
How do you not love the fantastic writing duo of Piper Rayne and please tell me how you do not love the Rooftop Crew?
This is the second book in the series and oh the fun we have! This is not your normal series. There are intricate weavings that make this even more interesting to follow. Read My Best Friend’s Ex and you’ll understand.
Every girl dreams of a prince to come through and sweep her off her feet. Even one as nonchalant as Sierra. The things is be careful what you wish for you just might get it. In comes Adrian.
These two are about to embark upon a tale that faces harsh realities, healing, and moving on. What a great job this team did and I can’t wait to read more about The Rooftop Crew.
Sierra, Blanca’s bff is on her date with Prince Adrian Marx that she won. The prince was eating cheese stuffs and playing Xbox with his brother when Sierra arrived. Sierra’s impression of the prince has changed dramatically as she can see why he’s so handsome. Sierra is still accepting Ethan and Blanca’s relationship so she steps away to call Blanca to complain about the prince but she drops her phone when the prince comes in all cleaned up.
I absolutely loved this book. Sierra finally getting her happily ever after with Prince Adrian makes me so happy. I loved all the characters. I can’t wait for Dylan and Rian’s story. The bonus scene was just exactly how I wanted their story to end for now
Oh Sierra you are such a pleasant surprise. I must be honest I certainly was not a Sierra fan but I soon was given so much more of her and yes she redeemed herself. The wall she has put up was only to protect herself. Sierra is a journalist and so up on royal news so when their is a win a date contest with Prince Adriane she enters it. Yes she is intrigued by the royal family but she also wants to see is she can get a insiders interview.
Adriane is next in line for the throne and he has no desire to be a king. He wants normalcy, freedom and to be able to make his own choices . The date with a winner of a contest is not his idea of making his own choices but when Sierra walks in …..he is a bit intrigued. She is matter of fact, doesn’t take any bull and calls him out on his behavior. He finds this refreshing and quite sexy. A sassy, sexy journalist, a Prince on the run and a whole lot of fun, sexiness and a crazy cast of characters. Get ready for a whirlwind romance with Adriene and Sierra but can in the moment romance last a lifetime or will duty call?

A Royal Mistake had a very different feel to it from the previous books by this author duo for me.
I dont know if it’s because it was starring Sierra whom I’d already formed thoughts and opinions about from the previous book. Or maybe because there were things about Adrian that we the readers knew instantly that put me on edge. I certainly wondered how on earth things would resolve and felt sorry for Sierra. Then again, that might have been the first thing that softened me towards her.
As the story continued I continued to soften, but it wasn’t an instant connection like there has been with other leading ladies. Adrian also took a bit for me to warm up to him. I was over 40% in and still asking myself “Do I Like This Guy?”
However this also highlights why I like Piper Rayne so much. Despite a delayed connection with the main characters I still really enjoyed the story. I didn’t want to put it down and when I did have to it was really easy to pick back up.
Overall I ended up enjoying the story and look forward to more in this series.
The narration for this was pretty good, but I had one main issue. In general I like the male narrator Tim Paige, but it was strange to have a character, Adrian, who was supposed to have a French accent but there was no accent when he was narrating. However the female narrator did give a French accent for Adrian’s parts. She did the accent for everyone from Adrian’s world. I would have preferred the male narrator have the accent if I had to choose but ultimately would have liked for both of them to be able to do it.

A Royal Mistake was the second book in the Rooftop Crew series by the authors Piper Rayne. I accidentally read the series out of order and thankfully it could be easily read as a stand-alone.
Prince Adrian Marx was the heir to the throne of the small country Sandsal. He was a bit of a wild card and a rebel and was refusing to abide with an arranged marriage. In reality, he had no desire to become King.
Sierra Sanders was a struggling reporter and celebrity crushed on the Prince. She knew everything there was to know about him and won a trivia contest for a one night date with the Prince.
The authors took us through the meet, development, life struggles and reflections with humor, emotion and fun. They also included the “Rooftop gang” as an integral part of the storyline and great teasers for what will come. Rival Roomies is next and it looks to be explosive!
Sweet story. The great camaraderie of the roof top crew are back to entertain us. Sierra finally meets her Prince, but what will happen with his future responsibility’s. He is set to rule, has a betrothed and family responsibilities. Will love conquer all.
4.5 stars!
I was so mad at Sierra in My Bestie’s Ex, so I went into ARM not knowing how I would really feel about her. In MBE, she comes across as cold, childish, unforgiving, and a bit selfish.
The fact that Piper and Rayne could make her fully redeemable, and create a character inspiring sympathy is a testament to their writing skills.
Sierra has won a date with her celebrity crush – Prince Adrian Marx. A man she believes to know everything about based on her cyberstalking. But in person, he isn’t exactly what she expected.
After an awkward start, we learn that Adrian is charming, funny, and surprisingly normal for someone set to inherit the throne.
Though Adrian and Sierra are from two very different worlds, they understand each other and manage to find something they’ve both been missing.
Theirs is a journey filled with complications and road blocks, but with the Rooftop Crew to back them up, and some lessons in communication, these two may just be able to find their HEA.
I love this group of friends, and how they support one another, and I’m so looking forward to the next installment!
Sierra Sanders has won a date with Prince Adrian Marx, a man she has cyber stalked for years, sounds like a great plot for a horror story but this was so much fun to read and exactly what I have come to expect from a Piper Rayne book.
Sierra is a bit of a witch, with a capital B, at times and I will admit she was not my favorite person in the first book of the series but I knew that she had to have some redeeming qualities and I am really glad we got to see them so soon and didn’t have to wait to find out who the true Sierra is. Prince Adrian is hiding a big secret from Sierra when he convinces her to allow him to move in with her for a month, a secret that she never saw coming.
I compared the Rooftop crew to the FRIENDS gang and that comparison still holds but I will say that Prince Adrian and Sierra are like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, royalty and a regular girl fall in love and just want a happily ever after….the only question is will get their their HEA like Harry and Meghan?
I would recommend reading this series in order, but, each book can be read as a standalone if you choose to do so.
Happy Reading!!!
This series people! I am loving this. I am used to family series, which I love! But I am totally enjoying and loving that this is one that deals with a group of friends! And I just love everything Piper Rayne writes.
I was happy to get more of a back story on Sierra. She was a little off in book 1 for me. It to finally get more about her and understand the meaning of why she is so stand off-ish and kinda of selfish, that’s what I thought of her from book 1. But she totally surprised me in this book and it made me so happy to see her for who she really is! I love that she wins the date with Prince Adrian but I was nervous she was gonna be all star stuck when she finally meets him.
But their meeting took a turn I wasn’t expecting. With how Adrian was when she first comes to the hotel for their date, I would have left lol. But the fact that he turned it around and ended up showing her who the Prince really is was so sweet. I loved how he was with Sierra and how she opened up to him. They just were made for each other. They both bring out what is best and what they are lacking in their personalities.
I can’t wait and I mean CANNOT WAIT for Rian and Dylan’s book! Those two, man oh man that is going to be a good one!

recommendation
Sierra Sanders thinks all of her dreams may be coming true when she wins a date with Prince Adrian Marx from Sandsal. Now if she can only get the promotion at work to move from reporter to anchor everything would fall into place.
Yet Prince Adrian isn’t what Sierra expects and soon she finds herself agreeing to let Prince Adrian move into her apartment for the next two months.
Soon Sierra finds herself falling for Adrian more and more but unfortunately there are some aspects of his life that he has kept secrets that are about to be exposed.
This is another awesome book in this series and I absolutely love this group of friends and how the author keeps expanding our “characters” to add more and more great people into our lives!
This was a great story as it gave us a different look at Sierra who we met in the first book as Blanca’s best friend and Ethan’s ex girlfriend. I liked getting to know Sierra better and learn about her own hopes and dreams. She was definitely focused on improving her career but also had some great friendships with the Rooftop Crew!
I liked Prince Adrian and I completely understood why he wanted to escape what was happening with his family back home as he was being thrown into something he didn’t want. Adrian didn’t want the type of life that his parents had.
The chemistry between Adrian and Sierra was apparent from their first meeting and at times was absolutely sizzling! I loved how Adrian supported Sierra with what happened when she went to her dad’s house!
I must say I was shocked with a new arrival and everything that happened with that. It was interesting to see both Rian and Blanca’s opinion on the type of guys that Sierra finds herself attracted to and why.
I felt bad for Adrian being a pawn in a political family game that he had no interest in and I must say I was very disappointed in how behind the times that his country was. I felt horrible for Sierra and everything she was subjected to when she was there. I was happy when things began to finally turn around!
I was glad that Sierra was able to make some peace after that with what happened to her mom and I was so happy with what happened after!
The end was great and I can’t wait to see what happens next with the Rooftop Crew!
“You want to question my happiness? Maybe you should examine your own.”
Sierra is obsessed with royalty, especially Prince Adrian Marx. This obstinate journalist will have the biggest surprise of her life when she wins a contest in which the prize is a date with her idol. With high expectations, the first impression she will have on him will not be the best. For those who expected the Prince Charming portrayed on the covers of magazines, she has a beautiful shock of reality when faced with an ordinary guy, like any other.
And this date, which does not start very well, turns into something pleasant and fun, until it ends up in a race through the city dodging the bodyguards. And ending the night in a hotel room will be the icing on the cake.
The next day, what she doesn’t even know is that she just got a roommate. Adrian knows that he will have to return home and assume a throne he does not want and deal with family problems that are not his own, but prolonging his return as much as possible will be his goal. Sharing the roof with Sierra and experiencing a common life will be an adventure. Until his biggest secret appears to disrupt his new life.
Betting on a reinterpretation of the old story of the ordinary girl and the prince, the authors give a new look and manage to add comical, common and everyday moments, without forgetting the romance and some steamy.
Adrian discovering a new world of possibilities is very interesting to follow. His joy at being elected employee of the month made me laugh.
Sierra is more reserved, hard and even cold and when we finally discover the reason, when her past is revealed, it is impossible not to see her in a new way, not to sympathize with her pain. But she still made me reticent. In the previous book she did not make a good impression on me and here in her story, despite understanding her a little better and even getting emotional in some scenes, I still find her irritating. Sorry, she didn’t manage to win me.
I found the solution to the final problem very quick, I expected Adrian’s parents to cause more problems. They accepted the change very quickly.
Adrian and Sierra were made for each other. The end could not have been different. The next book is the most awaited by me, after all Dylan is coming. Counting the days to release.
I received a complimentary copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
A Royal Mistake
By: Piper Rayne
REVIEW
Fortunately for me, reading A Royal Mistake was not a mistake at all. Adrian is a royal but would rather not be. Sierra is a common woman with a crush on Prince Adrian, and as luck would have it, she wins a date with him. This date, however, begins badly because, as first impressions go, Prince Adrian’s is terrible. Sierra is dismayed and disappointed by his appearance, but this bad date turns into a bit more. As they get to know one another, both Sierra and Adrian open up about who they really are and how they truly feel. The media have a field day, and it’s tough going for the couple. Is a romance even possible between a prince and a non-royal? Is this situation too fraught with obstacles and complications? I stay away from spoilers. I will say this is a charming and deliciously sweet story with authentic entertaining characters you can’t help but love and root for all the way. Fans of royal fiction will appreciate this fresh and fabulous take on the tried and true trope. Piper Rayne have written a story you won’t be able to put down until the last page is read.
