He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.
I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty.
But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.
All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with … a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.
I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancée.

Step out of real life heartache and into the sweetest kind of forever. Goodbye grey skies hello sunlight. The Rooftop Crew provides emotions a chance to breath. Rayne takes readers on the perfect getaway without having to travel far from home. Adrian and Sierra are a reminder that behind the shadows of a broken heart lie a bruised soul waiting patiently to find it’s smile. That’s something that we all can relate to. For a little while, A Royal Mistake gave me the chance to get out of my head and get in touch with my heart. That’s a trip I won’t soon regret.
This is the second book in the Rooftop Crew series by Piper Rayne. We met Sierra Sanders in the first book, and she was an unlikable narcissistic brat. Throughout book one, she went on about her obsession with Prince Adrian Marx. This obsession paid off and she was picked for the contest to win a date with a prince. This is a start of a romance reminiscent of the movie Roman Holiday. While you get to know Sierra better, you understand why she behaves as she does, but it wasn’t enough to for me to love her character (I went from immense dislike to somewhat neutral). I did like Adrian, he was sweet and very likable. I think my biggest problem I had is that I am not a fan of the Royal Romance trope, and this book didn’t convert me to a fangirl. Though the breadcrumbs that the author left for Rian and Dylan have me excited for the next book. I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
A contest won, a prince looking for a reprieve, friends that are more like family because family is defective. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Sierra is your common, everyday woman living her life, a job she likes, the job place politics that go with it, roommates that are her best friends, in the apartment, across and down the hall too.
Adrian has the world at his fingertips, who wouldn’t want that life, right? Except maybe the one that has lived it since he was born. Between the two of them, sparks fly. What was supposed to be one date, turns into what if….
As their story develops, my heart hurt for Sierra and the past she tries to keep to herself, for Adrian and his predetermined future that seems further and further from what he wants and what it may or may not mean for these two as they are just trying to find their way. Drama and chaos lead the way when both worlds collide, but you can’t help but cheer for them to figure it all out in the end.
Loved!!! It was so good! I’ll admit I wasn’t so sure about Sierra in the previous book but given the circumstances understandable. Going into this book you see how strong but fragile she still is. That’s one red head that doesn’t take any crap! I really liked how well they got along and how easily he fit in with the roof top friends. I loved how he didn’t give up and went for what he wanted. Also how everyone was still kind of brought up in the book. It was overall a great book with a nice ending and more to come!
Adrian and Sierra are unexpected!!! Lana~White Hot Reads
They come from two different worlds but some how make it work. Adrian just wants to be normal and Sierra just wants to be loved. I am glad that we got to know more about Sierra because in the first book I was so sure about her but in her book we learn so much about her. I’m really liking this series.
I am so very much enjoying this series, it’s now a toss up which group of characters I am more in love with right now, the Baileys or the Rooftop Crew. Let me start off by saying Sierra was not my favorite character in Blanca and Ethan’s book, but being able to get the chance to know her a little better and now I love her. She is tough and independent but she is hiding some serious pain, enter Prince Adrian, and holy smokes is he full of so much awesomeness. I love how perceptive he is and how much empathy he has for people. You could see it so many times with Evan and Rian, but’s especially with Sierra. Despite growing up as a prince he has a deep understanding of people and a desire to help them. He is absolutely perfect for Sierra. They have a great insta love type of connection (well after the Initial failed introduction) and things move quickly from there. I mean he totally reminds me of Harry giving everything up for Meghan. I am super excited for Rian and Dylan. There story is going to be good, I can tell already.
*** I did receive a free advanced readers copy of this book from Piper Rayne and Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for a fair and honest review ***
Sierra. If you read My Bestie’s Ex you probably have an opinion about Sierra and everything that has to do with her character. Now with her very own book, you get to see that Sierra is so diverse, full of life, love and a little bit of fear. Her beginnings shaped her and those beginnings play a big role in how she lives her life.
Enter Prince Adrian Marx of Sandsal(cool imaginary place). And this is the epitome of why I fell in love with this book. Okay, so the prince is hot, sexy and all of the scrumptious goodness you can expect from those men that Piper Rayne write about, but no….it isn’t all his sexiness that draws you in. It’s the fact that he SEES Sierra, not the front that Sierra puts on for the world, but the real, ever-loving, beautiful, passionate, fighter that Sierra is underneath it all. He loves her and is intrigued by her and is willing to put it all on the line for her! That is what made me fall so hard for their story.
You can count on the legendary Piper Rayne laughs, the love and the witty banter as always which I appreciate each and every time I read one of their books. You can count on wanting to know more about the secondary characters because they are awesome friends. And you can count on the fact that Sierra will evolve in your mind throughout this book and you will fall for her and want to see her obtain her happy ending!
This Rooftop Crew snuck up on us and I for one can not get enough of them! I want more right this instant!
Okay I might not have been the biggest fan of Sierra from the previous book but I am now her number one fan!
So Sierra is a huge fan of Prince Adrian and after winning a date with him can’t wait to meet him! When she first claps eyes on him in the flesh it’s anything but love at first site. But Adrian being the charming prince he is soon wins her over.
Well delve into Sierra’s past and you understand her more and got a bit emotional reading it.
Adrian is a reluctant prince, he doesn’t want to be King, just wants to be a normal guy.
Piper Rayne have another winner on theirs hands and I can not wait to read the next one in the series.
I received an arc of this but I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
5 Star Review A Royal Mistake (The Rooftop Crew #2) by Piper Rayne
I had a hard time liking or relating to Sierra in the first book in the series, My Bestie’s Ex,
but it’s a Piper Rayne novel so I knew if anyone could change my opinion, they would. This is Sierra and Prince Adrian Marx’s story.
Whenever I see the name Piper Rayne, I know I am in for an entertaining read and A Royal Mistake was no exception. From the first to the last chapter, I was riveted to the roller coaster story that the authors wove.
As expected there was a lot more to Sierra than I initially thought. She is a reporter for the local television station and is infatuated by the Sandsal royal family, in particular Prince Adrian Marx. Winning a date with Prince Adrian, she is beyond excited. Sierra has had to overcome a great deal and I admired her focus and determination.
Adrian is not in a hurry to ascend the throne and yet it appears that is exactly what is about to happen. After a rocky start they both find that they enjoy each others company, despite the fact that Adrian is keeping some rather big secrets.
I will say that Piper Rayne managed to change my opinion of Sierra, perhaps it was the pairing with Adrian, they certainly were made for one another.
What will happen when the secrets are exposed? Can Adrian and Sierra’s blossoming relationship survive or is it doomed to fail?
There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, although having said that there were some emotional parts as well. It was also great to see the other members of The Rooftop Crew make an appearance and I am excited to see whose story is next.
Do you believe in fairytales where the handsome prince falls for a damsel in distress and sweeps her off her feet? Nah, me neither. That is until I read A ROYAL MISTAKE.
Readers first met Sierra in My Besties Ex and quite frankly she wasn’t very likable, but there was something about her we weren’t being told. Turns out she is very likable. Her story is heartwarming, bittersweet, and sometimes very sad as we learn why she puts up an invisible armor to hide a lifetime of pain. Sierra is no damsel in distress. She tells it like it is, is fiercely independent, and very nice once you get to know her for who she is.
Prince Adrian is the last person you’d expect to fall for Sierra. They meet under amusing circumstances. Sierra wins a date with the Prince…..Their
date starts off a bit rocky, but turns out to be quite the whirlwind of dodging security guards and trying to be a “normal” couple out on the town. You see, that’s all Adrian wants…..a normal, non royal life. Will Sierra be able to help him achieve that?
She and the rooftop gang certainly do their best, but the journey to normalcy is not without its challenges. Doubting roommates, a demanding royal family, a relationship struggling to stay in the ‘friends’ zone……and did I mention that pesky upcoming prearranged marriage for the Prince? Yeah, there’s that too.
A Royal Mistake shall be crowned a winner that made me believe in fairytales again.
Disclaimer: I received an advended copy in exchange for a honest review
I was so excited about this book when Piper Rayne rolled out the blurb for it. The wait was worth it as I absolutely loved it!
Sierra is a reporter for the local television station and she’s also really interested in the royal family from Sandsal. So much so that she knows just about everything that has ever been printed about Prince Adrian Marx. When the opportunity to win a date with him comes up, she take it and when she actually wins, she’s excited to meet him and have dinner with him.
Prince Adrian isn’t thrilled with the future that is laid out before him. He’s the current heir to the throne in Sandsal and it’s not a position that he’s ever wanted to hold. Because of circumstances that are currently happening within his family, he may be forced to take the throne sooner than anticipated. He would much prefer jetsetting around the world enjoying himself rather than taking his lot in life seriously.
When Sierra and Adrian meet for the first time, things don’t go as she expected at the beginning. As the night wears on though, the two find that they enjoy one another’s company. When Adrian decides he’s going to stay in the US for two months, Sierra suddenly finds herself welcoming him as her new roommate! Will the relationship between Sierra and Adrian flourish or will a piece of information he’s omitted end up tanking their relationship before it really begins?
I adored this story and both Sierra and Adrian. I loved how they brought comfort to one another after both had been through tough times and also how they were able to trust one another when trust has never come easy to them. I truly couldn’t put this book down and it turned into me reading it in one sitting, which very rarely happens. Kudos to Piper Rayne for another amazing book!

My new favorite book by Piper and Rayne. Adrian and Sierra’s story is everything. A Royal Mistake is full of drama, make your knees weak moments, survival and bonding. You are missing out if you dont read their story. You’ll fall in love with them. Can’t wait for the next book.
I just finished the arc for this book. What a great book. It was very emotional and heavy in parts. I wasn’t sure about Sierra after reading Blanca’s book, but she definitely won me over. I love Adrian too. He was a perfect match for Sierra.
