Nobody does royal romance or Christmas like Hallmark! Enjoy the enchanting original novel from Lizzie Shane. Jenny knows she isn’t the princess type. Sure, she’s friendly and caring, but with her clumsiness and lack of self-confidence, glass slippers would only make her trip. When Dom, the cute guy she runs into in the park, turns out to be the prince of San Noelle, she figures he must not be … San Noelle, she figures he must not be her happy ever after.
But a mysterious countess grants Jenny’s one wish, and she finds herself married to this handsome prince! Unfortunately, at the stroke of midnight on Christmas night, her life will go back to normal.
In funny and touching ways, Jenny navigates royal traditions the best she can. But even as she grows closer to Dom, the clock is ticking. With love and a little holiday magic, could she somehow make the enchantment last forever?
This sweet holiday romance includes a free Hallmark original recipe for Chicken Shawarma.

A Royal Christmas Wish, to me, is Cinderella visits Santa and asks for a wish! It was a fun, touching, wonderful holiday story with an HEA made for a princess. Yes, I liked and yes, it made me feel like I was living a fairy tale.
Jenny James is interviewing for a job in New York City. She is moonlighting as a catering server and the job of the hour is for a holiday party…dressed as an elf. The author weaves a much better telling of this than I can but there you go. Her job interview takes on a life of its own and she leaves it feeling…conflicted. She walks to her volunteer “job”, at Paws For Love, and visits with her “prince” …a wonderful dog at the shelter. (Get it? Her “prince”!) When she takes Prince Harry for a walk, he runs off and she manages for run into a very handsome stranger named Dom, jogging and…well, you’ll need to read it for yourself.
Dom is actually Prince Alexander Dominic and the party where Jenny is serving that night, in the elf costume of course, is being held in his honor. I can’t do justice to the magic in this story – the magic of love, trust, and being true to yourself – you need to read it for yourself. You never know how the good things happen in your life, or why, but if you believe… Jenny was so relatable in her self-doubt but she has much more pluck that I will ever have. And Dom really is such a sweet, really nice guy, under the purple sash of course, and I loved both of these characters. I really enjoyed this book and loved the mirroring of a fairytale!
What a fun Christmas story! Lizzie is a friend of mine, but that doesn’t make this review any less real. She hit it out of the park with this one. It’s a total Hallmark movie type book. Sweet and whimsical, a little magic, and a lot of romance. *happy sigh* <3 <3 <3
Recommend this heartwarming holiday romance for your holiday cheer.
A Royal Christmas Wish is published by Hallmark, and it is, unashamedly and delightfully, a pure sugary fluffy candyfloss confection of a romance. I was mentally casting Kat Dennings as Jenny, a broke part-time waitress and dog-walker with dreams of being Something One Day, and Tom Hiddleston as the European prince she literally collides with one day in Central Park.
There’s an actual fairy godmother, magical Christmas wishes, a romance that’s almost tooth-rottingly sweet and at the heart, a message that being yourself is actually enough, no matter how much you might feel like a failure compared to family members and friends who totally have their act together from a young age. It’s a lovely story with a beautiful message… and I’m definitely hoping to see Kat and Tom, or some other delightful couple with similar chemistry, bringing it to the screen in a Hallmark movie sometime soon!
Five stars for a sweetly fluffy and charming royal romance.

My first Christmas read of the season and it was so great! Jenny’s meet cute with Dom was adorably sweet and clumsy and set the tone for their fairytale. With bits of a mixed up Cinderella vibe…where her sisters are anything but wicked, “Just Jenny” is that everyday heroine you can’t help but root for. Throw in two princes…one scruffy and lovable, the other handsome and guarded, and the reader can’t help but be charmed! Lizzie Shane has a winner in this peppermint scented, winter wonderland of wishes and dreams!
When I read the first chapter or two of this book in Buzz Books 2019: Romance, I was hooked and immediately requested the full book from Harlequin thru Netgalley. I loved every word of this book and did not want to put the book down to deal with “life” things. Poor Jenny, she is searching for who she is meant to be and what she is meant to do, but she keeps sabotaging herself at every turn. Then one day while playing with her favorite shelter dog in the park, Jenny literally runs into a real life prince, only she has no idea that that is true. They share an hour or two together and then go their separate ways. Later that evening at a party that Jenny is a server at, Jenny discovers that Dom is really Prince Dominic of San Noelle. Dom and Jenny talk even more at the party until their duties separate them. Jenny thinks that she will never see Dom again as he is returning home the next day, until she happens to find a bracelet and returns it to its owner. The lady then grants Jenny a Christmas Wish and all Jenny can think of is spending Christmas with Prince Dominic.
Jenny finds out the next morning that her wish has been granted and she wakes up in San Noelle, but just exactly how long does a Christmas wish last? Are there consequences to having said wish granted? Can Jenny and Dom and the dog truly find their HEAs? I promise that you will not be disappointed with the answers to these questions and the only way to find them is to read the book.
Thank you Harlequin and Netgalley for the ARC to this book and the above is my freely given truthful and honest review.
This is one of the best modern day fairy tales I have read. I kept turning the pages to find out what would happen next and I was never disappointed. Just Jenny or Jenny James was a quirky, sometimes clumsy character who lacked confidence in herself until she met her fairy godmother and found herself involved in a royal Christmas wish of her choosing, involving a palace and Prince Alexander Dominic of San Noelle. The wish is a little bit like Cinderella because it involves going to a ball but it is a lot more than that. I liked that you never knew for sure what was going to happen. The romantic story will put you in the mood for the holidays. I also really liked Jenny and Dom and of course Prince Harry, the adorable red-headed mutt. I hope this will be made into a Hallmark movie. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
With great heart and gentle humor, author Lizzie Shane waved her writer’s wand and created a charming, entertaining contemporary fairy-tale romance. “A Royal Christmas Wish” features a perfectly imperfect heroine whose very imperfections give her character an irresistible appeal. Jenny James just can’t seem to find her place in life, and her lack of self-confidence is one of the major stumbling blocks in her way. Jenny and her best friend Margo had moved to New York after graduation with big dreams for the big city. Margo had remained upbeat, encouraging Jenny and cheering her on. Now, Margo was getting married, and Jenny would be on her own. Due to a strict landlord, she couldn’t even adopt “Prince Harry”, her favorite dog from the shelter where she volunteered. After literally running into a handsome stranger named Dom in Central Park, she thinks her luck may have changed. However, her hopes are crushed when he turns out to be royalty–Prince Alexander Dominic of the small European country of San Noelle. How could “Just Jenny”–as she sees herself–find romance with a real prince? Dom is a thoughtful man, well aware of the weight of his responsibilities. He’s never met anyone like Jenny, and he is greatly attracted to her loveliness and her kind nature. She doesn’t think she’s special, but he does. Fate steps in, and with a touch of magic and a wish granted, Jenny is given a chance to experience the holiday she has always wanted. Life is either more than we imagine it will be, or less than what we expected. Will Jenny awaken from her romantic dream and find her life is still the same? Can love, faith in one’s self, and the power of positive thinking give Jenny and Dom a happy future together? “A Royal Christmas Wish” is highly recommended for lovers of sweetly poignant romance.

Ahhh! I adored everything about this. It’s perfect Hallmarky Christmas goodness! Plus, I am always a sucker for a royal romance and this definitely didn’t disappoint. Honestly, a rescue pup named Prince Harry?? YES, PLEASE. I do hope this gets adapted for film. It would be a great addition to Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas line=up. I was so looking forward to reading this, and I loved it even more than I thought I would.
A Royal Christmas Wish will capture your heart! A touching, heart-warming story filled with delightful characters.
I typically go into reading a book with the idea that the story has the possibility of reality. I went into this one not thinking that at all. I’m not the Cinderella type person, but I did enjoy this story. It’s definitely worth the read.
Hallmark Publishing offers up yet another delightful holiday romantic adventure suitable for readers from teens to grandparents. The light paranormal element of a wish granted offers a fun plot device. The characters are believable and easy to like, even the ones we are set up in the beginning to dislike. Treat yourself to this book and be transported to San Noelle for the holidays!
I requested and voluntarily read an advanced review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley and I offer my honest opinion in response.
When I first started the book, I was concerned I wouldn’t enjoy it because it was written in the first person. I didn’t just like the book, I loved it! I thought I’d start it at night and read a few chapters before going to bed. As I neared the end of the first few chapters, I thought just one more because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I ended up staying up until 2:30 am until I finished the book. It was whimsical, romantic, funny, emotional. I smiled, laughed and cried. It was so well written I could see everything clearly in my mind. I kept wondering how the writer would end it as the story progressed, and the writer ended it beautifully. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a story with a little bit of everything and a happy ending.

Excellent story
When the name Hallmark Publishing is mentioned, enough said. You can bet your bottom dollar you’re about to delve into a sweet, heart warming, flirty romantic read. With it’s Cinderella-ish type theme, that is exactly what you get here, folks. This book unfolds just like you would expect if aired in full production on the Hallmark Channel. Honestly, that’s all you really need to know about this sugary sweet, squeaky clean, Christmas romance themed story line.
Jenny, the heroine, couldn’t be more humble or klutzy, my fellow romance book loving friends. She also seems to be plagued with doubts and insecurities about her non-existent career and overall life in general, especially in comparison to her living the perfect life siblings. Along came Dom, the handsome prince, whom she literally knocks off his feet and has her dreaming and wishing dreams really do come true.
Speaking of enough said, that’s applicable once again. I’ll end this review by predicting fans of The Hallmark Channel will surely be enamored of this story line. If you enjoy a completely clean with no steam romance, you likely will, as well. For me, it was rather too predictable and uneventful. I found myself getting rather antsy for real reality to take the reins and lead this main couple to their happily ever after.
Title: A Royal Christmas Wish, Author: Lizzie Shane, Pages: 304, stand-alone, sweet but insecure, klutzy at times heroine, sweet fairy tale like prince, fairy godmother sub-character, scripted like a Hallmark Channel movie, squeaky clean, rated G material, no steamy scenes, no OM/OW drama, no love triangle, romance safe.

Ohmigosh! This book just made my heart smile! It was the absolute perfect Hallmark Christmas movie in book form! Who wouldn’t want to wake up one morning and be married to a prince!! I loved seeing Jenny gain confidence in herself and find out how to make her dreams come true. This book is going to be one I read again and again.

A Royal Christmas Wish
By: Lizzie Shane
*REVIEW*
I’ll admit it-I watch Hallmark Christmas movies, and I genuinely enjoy them, too! Why wouldn’t I? Do I want to live in a world where wishes come true and happily ever after does exist? Yes, please! A Royal Christmas Wish is all of these things in book format. Plain, clumsy, good hearted Jenny lacks self confidence and is unsure where her life is going. One fateful day, Jenny literally runs into the swoon worthy Dom. They share a conversation and a connection. Dom sees Jenny for all her worth. Later, Jenny finds out Dom is actually a prince! Sigh. She meets a mysterious woman who grants her one wish, and Jenny is suddenly married to the Prince. She is a princess, but it’s for a limited time only. Jenny has calamities and mishaps as she navigates her way through royal society. Is she truly falling for the prince in her reality, or is this just a dream liasion that will end soon? It’s Cinderella with a modern spin, and I adored all of it. Jenny and Dom/Prince are perfectly written and delightful. The story is timeless, beautiful and expertly crafted to touch your heart. I love stories about spectacular Christmas wishes and the warm fuzzy feelings they bring. Maybe it’s cheesy stuff, but I don’t care because the message here is also positive, peaceful, hopeful and inspiring. A Royal Christmas Wish is exactly what I needed to remind me of the spirit of the season and what it truly means. Thank you, Lizzie Shane, for writing this little lovely gem!
This is the perfect Hallmark Christmas story. I loved the characters, the setting, the magical wish: all the right elements for a cozy, feel-good Christmas story. If you like unexpected royalty, a touch of magic, and a cute little furry friend as a sidekick, then I highly recommend this book.
And I vote for this story to be added to Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas movie list!
I love a good Hallmark movie and I recently just discovered that they publish books. I was given a chance by Inkslinger PR to read a copy of this story and I have to say I loved it. This was so such a fun read.
You immediately love “Just Jenny” and root for her. She meets Dom and you are instantly hooked on the possibility of them. This story will leave you in the Christmas Spirit. This is a must read for all of us who LOVE a good Hallmark Christmas movie. Even if you don’t watch Hallmark movies give this story a try and I wouldn’t be surprised if you would want to binge all the Hallmark movies.
Cinderella gets a makeover just in time for Christmas. A Royal Christmas Wish uses humor and heart to inspire hope. Part fairytale fantasy, part reality check, Jenny and Dom are a reminder that true beauty is never perfect. Flaws and all, Shane pulls out all the stops to captivate hearts and dole out wisdom with a simply marvelous feel good holiday romance.
