The Rogue’s Seduction
Lauren Smith
Perdita Darby was desperate. How desperate you ask? Enough to go to a known Rouge’s house, Lord Vaughn Darlington, and ask him to pretend to be her betrothed!! Pursed by a dangerous man, Samuel Milburn, who was trying to blackmail her, she needs protection and feels Vaughn could provide that for her. Being down on his luck and still grieving from the death of his brother, Vaughn begins to feel something come to life with Perdita’s request. Her family was hosting a Christmas party and she planned for her father to announce their engagement so Milton would hopefully leave her alone!! The party proves interesting as secrets come out and the intrigue begins! Lauren Smith always delivers an engaging story that leaves the reader wanting more. I so enjoyed this story and fell in love with the characters!! You will too.
One Silent Night
Sandra Sookoo
A story of finding ones self and trying to find happiness in normal life. Under her father’s direction, Tabitha had been an undercover agent for the crown since she was eighteen years old. With his death she was now to go back into society and be herself, at least for three months until the new head of the operation returned (Lord Achewyne who you will know if you have read the series). Not in disguise, not as someone nobody noticed, but herself. How did she do that? At a musical evening with her mother, she looked around and caught the eye of a gentleman who looked as uncomfortable as she did. To her surprise he came and sat beside her. Duncan was out in the Ton due to the pressure being put on him to marry. Having come back from being in the military in India, he just wanted peace and silence in his mind. This is a wonderful story of a meeting by fate, when two people find there is a kindred soul just waiting to be found.

Rogues Aplenty
Delightful collection of eight unique stories. It’s Christmastide Romance with everything from sweet love to hmm get the fan and everything in between. Dawn Brower is always a favorite of mine, so do not miss Rebellious Angel. Chasing Lord Mystery has been a favorite of mine for a long time. A Very Mari Christmas by Rebecca Lovell was nice, this was also another new author for me. I found Hella Takes a Holiday very interesting because it’s not my normal genre, I will definitely read more by Rebekah Lewis. The Rogues Seduction was the spiciest. I’m a big fan of Sandra Sookoo especially her Lords of the Night series so I’m glad I didn’t miss One Silent Night. Amanda Mariel and Christina McKnight always deliver, A Kiss At Christmastide and How to Kiss A Rogue are also part of the Connected by a Kiss collection. I have the whole series and in my opinion you can read them as standalone or in order. I definitely recommend A Roguish Christmas. And even if you find yourself buying the collection just for one of the books because of the great price please read the others you won’t be disappointed.

Let the adventures begin. A Roguish Christmas is overflowing with steamy romance, intriguing adventure and unforgettable characters. From a mysterious hero to a headstrong goddess. Brower and company give the heart something to look forward to. It may be cold outside but A Roguish Christmas packs a great deal of warmth inside.
8 stories by different authors – all featuring (head-)strong women, who are not afraid to go against convention to find the One. Their men – not a caring mother’s choice for a husband.
The stories are enjoyable to read, the usual historical settings – mostly Regency/Victorian England.
This is a good collection if you want to try out new authors or enjoy Christmas romance from different writers.

A good selection of novellas by some of the most talented and popular authors currently writing Historical Romance.
Dawn Brower gives us a delightful story of a young woman who gets the man of her dreams, just not in the way she had once dreamed of getting him. What does she do now?
Aileen Fish can always be counted on to spin a wonderful tale whenever it involves a summons from the Duke of Danby, a gruff old man with the soul of a born matchmaker.
Sandra Sookoo once again delivers a beautiful story about a wallflower at Christmas that just needs the right amount of attention to bloom for only that one special man who did not even realize she was exactly what he was missing in his life.
These and the other five novellas are all good books that will help you through the Holiday season or any time of the year with love and joy in your heart!

A Roguish Christmas is filled with kisses, love, and romance wrapped in EIGHT tales guaranteed to lift your holiday spirits. Below is a review of one of the stories to give you an idea of what’s inside.
*** Reviewing “REBELLIOUS ANGEL” By Dawn Brower ***
Angeline Marsden has a strong attraction to her best friend’s older brother, Lucian. She is also a headstrong young lady with her own plans and ideas which puts her in trouble she can’t extricate herself from. She knows there is only one person she can depend on to help her and her situation can only be fixed if she marries Lucien, the Marquess of Severn.
Lucian’s plans had not been to marry his sister’s friend. But he is the only one who can do the honorable thing to save her. With help from their families, will they overcome their stubbornness and realize they are actually perfect for each other?
This is a wonderful read for the Christmas Season. Get into the spirit and grab this collection for your reading enjoyment!
Note: 6 of these 8 Novellas have been previously published.
4* Rebellious Angel – Dawn Brower
Two families are linked by close friendships and in the case of Angeline love for her friend’s brother since the age of 12. Lucian is a rake who doesn’t realise his own heart until Angeline gets arrested in a suffragette march and he comes to her rescue. Neither of them is prepared to admit their feelings to the other, which leads to unhappiness for them both until advice from others leads to a Christmas miracle.
5* Chasing Lord Mystery – Aileen Fish
Lady Miriam holds every man she meets to the standard of her rescuer at her very first ball. When she meets him 6 years later she discovers he doesn’t even remember the event and certainly hasn’t been pining for her, quite the opposite in fact as he has no intention of ever marrying. A sweet and enjoyable story.
3* A Very Mari Christmas – Rebecca Lovell – NEW STORY
Not sure of the period for this story but 16th or 17th century Wales as the ladies are wearing farthingales. A story involving subterfuge and lies. I didn’t find this always very easy to understand what was going on and could have done with some clarification of the folklore of the area.
5* Hella Takes a Holiday – Rebekah Lewis
A story of a goddess wanting to know love and companionship rather than eternal solitude and achieving it in an unusual way. I loved it!
5* How to Kiss a Rogue – Amanda Mariel
A spirited lady with a hasty temper finally finds happiness with the man of her dreams but not before she has to come to terms with her treatment of a good friend.
4* A Kiss at Christmastide – Christina McKnight
An unexpected visitor to her family estate whilst her family is away, leads to love for Lady Pippa and the final lifting of twenty years of guilt for Lord Lucas.
4* The Rogue’s Seduction – Lauren Smith
To avoid marriage to the evil Samuel Milburn, Perdita makes a bargain with the Devil of London, never thinking it will lead to a true meeting of hearts and minds.
Note: Contains bondage and spanking.
4* One Silent Night – Sandra Sookoo – NEW STORY
Trained by her father to be a King’s Agent, Tabitha has no idea how to be just a woman. When her eyes meet those of a man at a musical recital who looks just as discomforted as her, she is drawn into a friendship that will change her life.
All stories to a greater or lesser degree have typos.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Booksprout. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great authors!
