Elsbeth Blakely: An orphan who craves independenceViscount Andrew Radford: A notorious rogue used to getting what he wantsA clash of wills – who will win?The world always ignored Elsbeth Blakely, given that she was just another young orphan at the Smithfield House for Girls. She was never a part of the bustling world of London Smithfield Market, cooped up inside the great house with no freedom of … with no freedom of her own.
However, life suddenly takes a turn for the worse when Elsbeth meets Viscount Andrew Radford. A notorious carousing rogue, Lord Radford sets his sights on Elsbeth to be his latest object of affection, expecting that she will simply fall into his arms as every other lady has.
But Elsbeth is determined to have her independence. Despite being forced into working at the Radford estate, Elsbeth stands up to the young viscount, finding him determined to get what he wants from her.
But, underneath it all, is Lord Radford really the scoundrel that he seems?
When news of Elsbeth’s real family comes to light, Elsbeth finds her whole world turned upside down, with only Lord Radford able to help. One thing is for certain, however, Elsbeth Blakely is not who she seems either.

This story is truly an escape into another world of love, sensitivity, poignant episodes and some suspense mixed in. Great atmosphere captured to put the reader in the moment. Love the characters. A very enjoyable story.
I enjoyed this book very much.
I love Elsbeth’s strength of character and how that thread weaves it’s way throughout the book. I like the reformation of a rogue and the adventures that they face together.
This is a fun read. Engaging and enjoy the story and the others in the series.
Totally different premise than most. Fun easy-read. Enjoyed.
A part of a series. (Smithfield Market) I really enjoyed.
Smithfield Series, a good one

“A Rogue’s Flower” A Smithfield Market Regency Romance (book 1)
by Rose Pearson
I enjoyed my time with Elsbeth… cheering her on as she fought to find her way in the world.. and worried for her when things were looking rather black.
This is a delightful easy sweet clean Regency adventure.
This book is wonderful! I enjoyed every word! There are tight plotting, believable dialogue, great characters, and clean romance. Cocky, arrogant, wealthy Viscount Radford wants orphaned Elsbeth in his bed. Elsbeth wants out of her horrid school for girls, into a position of governess, and to have nothing to do with Radford. Will blackmail change her mind?
I am always happy to find and support a new indie author. Rose Pearson is a new and exciting author. Her books are mild, so you can read them with the Church ladies or share them with your daughter or granddaughter (much like my own books.)
I found this book when it appeared in my book bub daily deal and had to go back and read the rest of the series.
Elspbeth was given a hard life in a girls home, and never told who was paying for her education. Always controlled and all she wanted was to control her life!Viscount Andrew Radford was the same until she questioned his behaviour. Suspense, fear, and eventual love.
I got into this book from the first page. I loved the way Ms. Pearson developed the characters and the storyline. We get to know a headstrong heroine, a hateful guardian and an arrogant suitor. The interactions of these characters keeps you turning the pages. Then we are introduced to the grandfather who is the opposite of what anyone would like as a grandfather. The situation keeps you on the edge of your seat. It ends with a happily ever after that makes the story complete. It is a wonderful read and I recommend it! I will be reading more from this author.
I could not put this book down. It had me from first page. Elspeth and Andrews story was so full of heartbreak and craziness. A must read. Cannot wait for next story in the series.
Elsbeth Blakely is abandoned as a baby at the Smithfield Home for Girls where she is forced to grow up in a loveless environment. As she reasches a certain age she is forced to take a position as governes to a spoiled Viscount who has ulterior motives. This is a wonderfully entertaining Regency romance that tells the story of how the two main characters change each other and fall in love. There are some unexpected twists and turns in this alltogether delightful novel.. Cannot wait to read more!
I really enjoy Rose Pearson’s characters and stories. I loved the introduction of the cocky, amoral Viscount that Andrew Radford began as, and wondering why Miss Skelton was as vicious and unhappy as she was. Then watching as Elsbeth fought for herself, and had the temerity to show the Viscount exactly how she saw him. He’d been around her enough that he realized the truth in her words, and cared enough to make the changes he needed to to become a man he could like.
If I could change anything, I would have made arrangements for Mrs. Banks to come be the new governess for the present time.
I received a free copy of this book through a contest, and chose to tell how I felt about this book of my own volition.
I was totally blown away by this book, and totally didn’t expect the twists and turns in the plot! Loved it!
