After the death of his father, Thomas Raybourne is tasked by his brother, the new Earl of Carlington with turning the family publishing business into a success. Thomas has no experience in publishing and is widely known as a rogue, a reputation he relished until just a few months ago. Now he is focused and wants to succeed, he has overhauled the entire publishing operation and learns that unfortunately the only book they have that is making any money is a murder mystery written by A. Golden. But he is shocked to learn that A. Golden is actually Miss Annabelle Gold, the lovely girl he kissed on a moonlit terrace a few months ago!
Annabelle has a passion for writing and used her talent to help her family financially when her father’s business began to decline along with his memory. But now that her sister Caroline married the Earl of Aberland and things have begun to look up for the family, Annabelle can once again write for the pure joy of it. She has written the second book in her mystery series and has been waiting to hear from her publisher. When she doesn’t hear anything for weeks, she finally makes the trip to their office. She is just as shocked to find Thomas there as he was to see her – but he is surprisingly supportive and eager to publish the next installment. She can’t deny that she is attracted to Thomas, but a deep-seated fear of losing herself if she marries has her keeping all potential suitors at bay – including Thomas.
They make plans to reissued the first book and publish the second one, but just as they finalize their plans, there is a murder that clearly mimics a murder in her first book. They decide to hold off publishing until the murderer is caught and work together to find out who (and why) they are using her book as inspiration. They stumble across a potential suspect, which ends with them forced into a betrothal, yet gives them no evidence to stop the murderer. But when a second mimicked murder doesn’t tie to the victim of the first murder, they race to stop their villain before they can strike again. All the while, Annabelle and Thomas grow closer and wonder if they can defy the odds and find their own HEA. But when the villain approaches Thomas and threatens to destroy someone he loves; will Thomas be able to thwart them or will he make Annabelle’s worst fears come true?
I thought this was a well written, nicely paced book with likeable characters, very low steam love scenes and an interesting mystery. Thomas and Annabelle are a wonderful pairing and you can’t help but root for their HEA, the mystery was good, but the villain wasn’t much of a surprise to this reader. There were cameos from previous characters and I enjoyed catching up with Caroline, Aberland, Louisa and Granger and was thrilled that there was an epilogue. This is the third book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone title.
This is another book by the wonderful author Lana Williams. This book is about Thomas who is a 3rd son of an Earl, whose older brother wants him to take over the publishing company their Father started. Annabelle is a mystery writer whose books are published by the publishing company Thomas is running. Thomas and Annabelle will be working together to publish another book of hers and to catch someone who is killing people like the books she writes. The two main characters did know each other, but the romance was not rushed. This smooth written book was a romance and also a mystery. I believe you will enjoy.
I own 23 stories by this author and this one ranks near the top. Oh, how I enjoyed the romantic mystery within the story. I really haven’t read many murder mystery stories, but this one may change my mind.
The H is the 3rd son and we only know a little about him. His father disliked him for a reason I won’t go into. I felt sorry for the H because he was always belittled and felt he had nothing to add. The h writes stories under a different name, because having a career, just wasn’t done. My goodness, so glad I didn’t live in this time period, where you couldn’t have a brain!
The way the story unraveled was a treat. My only complaint was the way the villain was caught. I thought it was wrapped up too swiftly – I wanted more aghast.
Romance builds slowly and I liked they didn’t hop in bed. This story has passionate kisses and some foundling, but the actual act happens within marriage and not described.
I’ve read book 1 of the series, and somehow didn’t get book 2. You will not be lost reading them out of order.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and almost clean. I was given an advanced copy, all opinions are voluntarily given and my own. (ljb).
A great story written by Lana Williams!
It starts with Thomas Raybourne the third son of the Earl of Carlington. After the death of his father he finds out that he was given a publishing company called the Artemis Press.
Annabelle Gold is a writer and her books so far brought in a nice profit. She is ready to submit another book but is unable to get an answer from her editor. To keep a low profile she uses the pen name of A. Golden.
Then a body is found and it is like the murder in her book comes to life!
This story is so well written that I enjoyed reading it!! I hope that you would too!!

My review :
Will their fears impede a possible future …
What an entertaining read this book was, mixing a romance with a sleuthing plot.
I have read none of the other books in this series but I discovered Mrs Williams through her Seven Curses of London series.
And here again, she embarks two different characters in a quest for the truth and the copycat’s identity.
Annabelle can’t imagine a life without writing, thus her determination to not marry as she sees marriage as an impediment to her freedom to write whenever she would want. Plus in her mind, love is more like an handicap as it changes a person, leaving it vulnerable. But what if she meets a man who might her love for stories.
Thomas has so many time heard he was worthless he came to believe it and he follows the disappointing course he is expected to. So when his brother asks him
To ensure their publishing business becomes more profitable, he is at loss, sure to deceive and fail. Yet, an author’s work has caught his eyes, and he would like to get more stories from this one. In contact with Annabelle, he will discover his protector instincts, as she will ignite in him a spark he never new he had.
Both already know one another as they navigate in the same spheres even if they do not often meet. Yet they shared a kiss months ago so when hidden identity is revealed and threats seem to close around them, they team up to try to solve The Who and Why.
Well, it is more Annabelle’s force of nature that pushes Thomas to follow her lead. But soon, they prove to be a great pair if one’s stubbornness does not endanger their duet. Annabelle is the one often stepping backward, as she has the more to loose, thus her way to address things by going sideways, like she was trying to avoid any topic dealing with her feelings when Thomas knows quickly she is the one woman for him but he believes to not deserve her.
Mrs Lana Williams offers here a fun and entertaining read with a very push-over heroine and a more restrained hero. During their inquiry, they will face their doubts and uncertainties and will have to address them if they want a possible future together, all the while, trying to solve who wants them to fail and why.
4.5 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Can a rogue change his ways? Yes! When he meets the right lady and she gives him a reason to no longer be a rogue.. What a captivating story.. So much mystery, love, happiness and I’m the edge of your seat thrill! I loved it from beginning to end..
A new publisher, a fledging female writer and copycat murders feature in this highly entertaining story. Annabelle is worried that her secret life as a writer will be exposed with the changing of her publisher but Thomas agrees to keep her secret and signs a contract for her to write a second book. Then the two of them realise that the murders in her first book are being replicated and go on a quest to find the killer. I loved it. Recommended read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book which I won in a competition. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I like this one the best out of the three. Great characters. The ending was a surprise, but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one.
With a twisted and dangerous villain, who spins a web of murder, mystery and mayhem until slowly all the pieces start falling together that solve who is the copy cat murderer of A. Golden’s novel. A Rogue No More will keep you spellbound from the moment you begin the journey with Thomas and Annabelle until the very end! Lana Williams heart-stopping story brims with tension-building twist, characters are well thought out and each one comes across clearly as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale and with setting descriptions and action sequences are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly. Thomas and Annabelle finds themselves racing against time to find the answers to who is behind the killings as they try to fight their rising passions for one another and find themselves spiraling down into a whirlpool of suspense. It’s a heart stopping love story that unfolds beautifully with drama, uncertainties, trials and tribulations, and while the suspense builds and tensions escalate with twist and turns abound that makes this one outstanding story!
