Diana Cumberlin knows one thing: he’s coming for her, and he’s not the only one. Fleeing a ruined marriage and a mob boss with a vendetta for revenge, Diana will do anything to protect her five-year-old daughter. From contacting long lost lovers to family she abandoned years ago, Diana is determined to set right her past transgressions on a road more traveled.
A Road More Traveled: Cumberlin Defense Intelligence Book 1 (Cumberlin Intelligence Agency), my second read from author Rebekah Dodson. Well written & enjoyable romantic suspense, reminiscent of the early writing of Lisa Jackson. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018.
This is an interesting story filled with twists and turns that keep you hooked. The story has murder, mystery, revenge, danger and much more. I like the characters and how the story developed. It is a very intriguing read!
Diana has found herself in quite a mess. Can she save herself and her daughter from her past actions?
Rebekah Dodson has written an intense, action packed story. While I didn’t always agree with the choices made, I could certainly understand them, and that made for a very interesting story.
Philip Leyva did as fine job with the narration. No issues or complaints here.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Diana had been lucky in her trial but it wasn’t really in the past yet. Her choices after that made her scared for her daughters life. When she left her troubles followed her. The characters were great and a surprise ending.
I am not too crazy about Diana. She has made alot of bad decisions in her past. Living for the moment and then regretting them. She has brought others down with her. Justin. George. A mafia guy was her worst decision! It is all coming after her now!! This is quite an exciting read.
As I listened to this Audible book, I found the narrator did an ok job. He read with some expression. Did well with female parts. Did not over act at all. 4 stars for him.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from Story Origin.
A beautiful, well written romance that gives us the story of a broken woman who has struggled to survive thru tragedy and poor choices. Diana becomes an obsession to some while truly loved by others. This read / listen will capture your attention from the very beginning. Secrets are revealed and with that come twists and turns you won’t see coming until the end. A long traveled road that will somehow lead to a hea…
I loved these characters – George broke my heart time and time again (he lost it all and I think his love was true) and Jason was so perfect. I loved the strength of Diana and how her character grows as we learn that who we think she is / was couldn’t be further from the truth. A fighter and survivor from the start.

the story itself is written well and I don’t really have any complaints on that but the narrator is totally killing all enjoyment for me. I have tried several times to get into the story but it’s really hard when the narrator is this bad. maybe I’m just spoiled because I listen to a lot of audiobooks by a lot of great narrators who really bring the story to life that I cannot listen to someone this monotone and lifeless. as far as I’m concerned the only mistake the author made is picking this narrator. definitely listen to the audio sample and decide if you can hang. if the narrator is okay for you to enjoy the story then get the book because the author has the skill. I just couldn’t get deep into the story because the narrator kept taking me out of the story. so the story gets 5 star the narrator is a 1-star with the overall 3 star. like I said check out the audio sample if it’s not that bad for you definitely get this book. my review is solely based on my experience but I’m sure other people love this narrator so don’t take my word for it check it out yourself.
Diana does what she knows best, when things go from bad to worse, is to run. This time it’s for her and her daughter’s life. Little did she know she was being watched and followed. The mafia wants her dead, her husband wants her back, her high school love wants her with him. dirty cops, people, she runs to her sister in Oregon. But who can she really trust?
This story had me on the edge of my seat! The drama, twists and turns like a rollercoaster ride. There were so many OMG I didn’t expect.
Phillip Leyva is a new narrator for me. He tells the story with emotion. Every moment of heartache, anger, anguish is felt. He did an awesome job. I was gifted this thru Story Origin, and offered my honest review!
She runs again but who will find her first
A Road More Traveled by Rebekah Dodson is an amazing story. This author continues to blow me away with her ability to tell a story that contains so much emotion and wonderful characters.
This story grabbed my attention right from the beginning until the end. It was was romantic, suspenseful, thrilling, twisted, unpredictable and heartbreaking. Diana, George, Clara and Justin are interesting characters and their relationships are relatable.
I really enjoyed this book and can definitely recommend it!!!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Diana Cumberlin had a past she would love to leave behind–the only good that came out of it was her daughter who she was bound and determined to protect at all costs. She has a history of running away from her problems and other issues–this time she has a very good reason–Her husband is a drunk and a gambler–but there are others she is trying to escape.
This has twists and turns and it will be very hard to figure it all out–you will be very surprised at what really occurred!!
