Brash social worker Olivia has been through her own personal hell and come out the other side, tattered but determined to make things better in her corrupt town—no matter the cost. Her roommate’s current situation is the perfect place to start. When ex-con Cliff’s wild ol’ lady Olivia comes to him and the River Reapers for help, he’s on board. His vigilante motorcycle club can get the job done, … job done, and it’ll help convince Olivia to take the next step in their relationship.
But when Olivia’s traumatic past walks through the club’s doors, there’s no stopping her from doing whatever it takes to settle her own score. Even if it means crossing a line that Cliff might not be able to pull her back from.
If you like dark romances with vengeance, heat, and a hero who makes you swoon, you’ll love A Risky Prospect, Book 2 in the River Reapers MC series.

This 2nd book within this series is something you need to have on your shelves! Miss Barone writes engaging and impactful characters that come alive and jump off the pages! Filled with Fantastic writing and a story that will have you tethered to the edge throughout it is one of those stories that is not to be missed! I highly recommend anything by this author and know that she will deliver a satisfying experience that will have you begging for more!
Another dark, gritty, no holds barred read.
Yet again there were details that didn’t add up, especially now there’s two books. But yet again I couldn’t find myself rating down for it as the darkness and descriptive detailing had me far too transfixed that it truly wouldn’t be fair.
The characters were yet again inspiring, fighting battles with their heads held high.
Definitely recommend after reading the first book, but heed all the warnings as neither are easy reads.

Captivating story, engaging characters
Risky Prospect is the second installment in Olivia’s and Cliff’s story. If you don’t remember the details of the first book, Dangerous Prospect, a link to short synopsis is at the beginning of the book. Which is really convenient.
After the surprise ending of Olivia becoming a prospect and Cliff becoming a full fledged member at the end of the last book, we learn there are more secrets to be told, and that the club can still come between them.
Also, Esther’s story ( Olivia’s roommate)and romance with the club enforcer Donny takes a more prominent role. Olivia has graduated and is employed by the local DCF, hoping to help out Esther who is seeking custody of her younger sisters. Olivia is dealing with her own past demons once again but uses them in ways to help out, showing new maturity.
I can’t say enough good things about how Elizabeth is growing this story line, developing the characters and keeping it true to her commitment of portraying life in the MC as she knows it.

Dark, soul-searching romance…
Full of emotion and drama, Olivia and Cliff’s story was full of depth and heart. Trauma and recovery rear their head here as Olivia was faced with the past that is disrupting her future. That struggle affected her profoundly and also everyone that loved her. It was full of pain and angst and a lot of life, both good and bad. Olivia and Cliff were imperfectly perfect as they faced each challenge sometimes at odds and others seamlessly together. This is not a cookie cutter journey but one full of sideway turns, just like real life.
It ended with, to me, on a bittersweet feel. This group of friends and family loved and supported each other, through hell and back, but there was still a lot undone and unsaid. I’ll be waiting and watching for more.

This book is even darker than the first book in the series so please take those trigger warnings seriously.
This is Cliff and Olivia She has recently started work as a social worker and is helping Lucy with her past Meanwhile Cliff is been totally patient giving her the time that she needs and wants to accept his pace in her life. When the past come after her she may take matters into her own hands and in doing g to a place where Cliff can’t help her. Will the River Reapers be able to help bring people in this town to justice. Now desperately waiting for the next book in this series
What a story, I wasn’t sure how things were going to end and it kept me reading. Good read and romance. Love MC romances.

I loved A Risky Prospect. Olivia’s character was bolder this time around and daring. I loved how involved she’s become within the Club and how she handled things. However, the scene where Olivia got her revenge, was a little hard to stomach but it totally worked for this type of genre, so I didn’t put much thought into it. Cliff on the other hand, his character goes through so much and yet he remains the perfect gentleman. He never judges Olivia for her acts and he always respects her space, even when he’s tempted not to 😉 The chemistry between Olivia and Cliff is perfect, we just need more of it.
So this picks up where book one leaves off. Yes it is an MC book and as the author stated this book does deal with some sensitive subjects. If you do not like dark elements and are hoping for an Insta anything book then this book is not for you.
Olivia grows so much in this book. We get the full effect of what she has gone through, and why she pushed Cliff away. She is a strong, stubborn, independent woman that really dislikes leaning on a man. Cliff has come full circle in the fact he knows what he wants, but has to be extremely patient to get it.
Now with all of that being said there are a few things that did not sit to well with me. I didn’t understand how things went down with her father, or how things were dealt with with her ex.
This is a biker story, but it’s also a story about a young woman who is just plain jacked up from her past and a man who is a white knight in a cut. Cliff already did 20 in the pen for protecting someone and now he’s back. He is strong, protective and loving. He knows he is too old for her, but when he sees her, he is lost in all that is Olivia. Good and bad and there is a lot of bad in this beautiful girl — man made bad. There is murder, rape, abandonment, and just plain bad people in this love story. You wonder how long Cliff can keep loving someone who gives me very little back. A really good read.

This book has strong characters that butt heads throughout. This is a well-written book with well-developed characters with grit. The story is very fast paced full of twists and turns. Loved it ready for another book.

So this was a thrill ride and a half!! Both Cliff and Olivia have to fight for what’s right and their relationship. There’s a lot that happens in this book. Cliff is comfortable in the MC. He’s all about helping find the bad guys and taking them out. Olivia, on the other hand, is starting a new job and helping her bestie get justice. This book brings out many different emotions. I mean my heart broke for Esther and her grandmother.
Here’s the deal..Cliff is all in with the club and olivia but Olivia has walls and a past that haunts her. It takes everything in Cliff to break down those walls and get in. These two are incredible together and miserable without each other. The author shows just how stubborn these two can be. You just wanted to shove them both into a room and let them work out their issues. I swear.
This is book two in the series and continues in the same vein as A Disturbing Prospect did. The author is extremely forthright with her trigger warnings and they should be taken seriously.
I would add that you need to be willing to suspend all disbelief when you open these books. While nothing is totally outside the realm of possible (like any fiction) there are situations that might feel just that little extra step beyond believable if you think too hard about it.
This book follows Cliff, Olivia, Lucy and the rest of the Reapers on a pretty intense adventure. There’s the unburying of skeletons, the need for lots of therapy and some problems resolved only for new ones to take their place. I love Cliff, I want to know more about Lucy and I am learning to take Olivia in stride.
I struggled a bit with the first book, and still have issues at times with Olivia as a character, but if you like MC romances with some tough subject matter, this might be a good series for you to pick up.
This is the second book in this phenomenal series, and is the continuation of Olivia and Cliff’s emotional roller coaster journey. Be warned that there are trigger, and the 1st book does need to be read first, and this is not a standalone. When life throws a curve ball the past comes back to haunt them, but will they survive? No spoilers; this is a definite must read for all lovers of a dark story. This is a well written story which is intense, dark, with revenge and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this exceptionally talented author, whose work I recommend.
A Risky Prospect by Elizabeth Barone is book Two in the River Reapers MC Series. This continues the story of Cliff and Olivia, so you should really read the previous book ‘A Disturbing Prospect’ first.
We pick up their story with Olivia working to move forward by graduating and getting a job as a social worker. Cliff is still working as a bouncer along with growing his feelings toward Olivia. But then the past comes forward and revenge is set in motion…but will they survive the past and revenge.
This is a page turner of a story but it is a Dark Romance so there are upsetting scene that might not be for everyone, so please consider the strong subject matter before getting this book. With that said if you are into Dark reads then this one be one for you.
This is the continuation of Cliff and Olivia’s story, and wow is it ever captivating!
Olivia is finally graduating from college and starting a job with DCF as a social worker. She is determined to be the one to make a difference.
Cliff is still bouncing for the club and he’s happy with Olivia, things are moving right along, until life throws a damn curve like always and completely throws everything off. Their lives get turned upside down along with a few other’s lives too. Demons resurface, pasts come back to haunt them, and new demons are lurking in the shadows waiting for an opportunity to show their faces. Demons I never saw coming.
Its heart wrenching. This book just about destroyed me, I felt so personally invested in these characters that when things got ugly my heart and soul hurt. I cried. Full on blubbering mess, trying to pick up the pieces cried..
This book was dark and sad, and it completely ripped my heart in two. But at the same time it made me see things in a totally different light. It made my naïve brain realize how ugly and broken life can be, but how beautiful it is when you learn to accept things and let go. I can’t say anything for the PTSD side of things but I do understand the abandonment issues all too well. That emptiness that comes with the feeling of being unwanted and the “need” to push people away before you start to feel too attached. Always wanting to be the ditcher not the one being ditched. So you are constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, thinking everything good is too good to be true and always expecting the worse, thinking you don’t deserve the wonderful. But the other side of healing and realizing you do deserve everything good in the world is breathtaking. You feel invigorated and whole for the first time.
I felt so connected to this story, I loved it. I feel the need to mention again- these are dark stories, there are trigger warnings and it isn’t a gushy romance novel but there is love, and self-healing and there is beauty in this wonderful story. It is definitely one that I will revisit and read again just to remember that an ugly caterpillar always turns into a beautiful butterfly after a little time and healing!
