A Ring of Truth is the next exciting installment of the Henrietta and Inspector Howard series, in which Clive reveals that he is actually the heir of the Howard estate and fortune, Henrietta discovers she may not be who she thought she was-and both must decide if they are really meant for each other.
I already told you about this book. I am now reading the next in the series
It was well written, with a minimum of clichés and poor grammar, but it was very predicable.
Entertaining, easy read. Much in the line of Anne Perry’s Thomas& Charlotte Pitt series, with a definite unexpected twist!
I prefer my books to have a beginning, middle and an ending. I dislike being left hanging for the authors solution.
It’s a great story. Read it. Author: Please review the meaning of “tacitly.”
I liked the book until the end when I found out it was a soap opera book where you have to keep reading the next book forever. I think an author who can’t finish a book shouldn’t be writing them. It is just a way to sell more books. And it is to bad this author has so little confidence in himself that he has to do this
The language in this book was horrible. It ruined the book for me.
Ehh…
Ended like one would end a chapter in a book. Very, very disappointing
I wanted to like this book, but couldn’t for several reasons. For one, the tough-cop scenes with sudden violence were jarring in the otherwise cozy style of writing. The book does contrast severe poverty with privileged riches in an engaging manner, and I enjoyed most of the scenes involving the heroine’s adapting to the world of her boyfriend’s wealthy family, but even that aspect was flawed– too many scenes do not ring true, especially the lengths she goes to in rebelling against things with which she disagrees. Also, it is NOT a clean read, for those who care about such things as morals and language. And finally, the ending is an obvious set-up for the next book, which I have always disliked. I was disappointed.
This is a nice Cinderella story. It’s pretty clean till the end where there is unnecessary swearing. The characters and storyline are likable.
Seemed to take forever to get to the Mystery solving part and then it seemed to only last a few pages at the end. Too Bad as I had looked forward to reading this-
This was my first book by this author and it is the second in a series even though it’s a standalone book. I liked the 2 main characters but felt there was a lot of repetitive dialogue throughout the book and that it could have been condensed considerably. I probably won’t continue with the series.
I have a grandchild on the autism spectrum, and felt the main character was well drawn and relatable. The book was also less unfortunately riddled with the sometimes overwhlming amount of errors which, as a former proofreader, make reading e-books sometimes painful for me.
Very disappointed how abruptly this book ended. It is understandable to continue happenings, if a book is part of a series, but such an ending discourages many readers, such as myself to start the series to begin with. Sorry, won’t read anymore by this author.
