I loved this start to the Ramesly Brothers series and I can’t wait to read more. A Ring for Christmas features Noah and Elle, but it takes a bit to get to them. Noah and Elle meet when Noah comes to Elle’s Diner looking for his estranged brother, Max. Max left three years ago, after a blowup with their father, David, who is one manipulative man. This is a fast read, so you’ll probably be left with some unanswered questions. I hope we will get those answers in future books.
This book was an easy fast pace book. I enjoyed it greatly. Happy ending. Goes to show money can’t buy everything.
The author definitely put a lot of love into the characters in this story. I *wanted* the “happily ever after” for Elle and Noah, and cared whether they found it, which is something every good story needs.
I also felt intensely about other characters in the story, but wanted to see more development there. For background, you have three brothers who all seem to be exceptional men. Their mother, we’re told, is kind and caring, while their father, we see, is heartless and cruel.
Since the father, David, is pivotal to the lives and relationships of each of the brothers, we’re left to wonder way too many questions without any inkling to the answers. Was he always this way? What caused it? How did the brothers grow to be such good men with him as a role model? Why weren’t their spirits crushed under the weight of his tyranny and abuse? Why did they join him in the family firm rather than escape after they finished school?
Because such a big deal is made about his manipulations of the brothers, there are too many questions there to leave the backstory completely untouched. And for me, this was the biggest flaw in the story. These apples fell far from the tree, and I was left wondering why.
However, this book also introduced me to three leading men and three leading ladies whose lives were impacted by David in varying ways, and I wanted to see each of them find happiness and love in a healthy, uplifting relationship. And while I agree that this book is in need of a line edit, and have adjusted my star-rating accordingly, I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I only wish I could give it 3.5 stars! It doesn’t quite deserve a 3-star rating, but didn’t meet my requirements for a 4-star either.
Apparently money can’t fix everything. David Ramesly is a manipulative billionaire who is bound and determined to make his children march to his drum. This book focused on son # 2 as he tries to look out for son #3. Somehow they both end up working in a diner for the owners’ daughter as she tries to fill in for her parents on their much needed 2 month vacation. If you like men who attempt to avoid talking about their problems, then you are really strange and we should talk. Noah and Elle are a cute couple, and it is a good thing Elle has enough moxie for both of them!
Excellent read, very well written and a quick read. I enjoyed getting to know all of the Ramesly Brothers and look forward to reading more books in the series. I found the storyline to be an original one, and I would certainly recommend the book to others.
