With the same incomparable style and warm, inviting voice that have made her beloved by millions of readers far and wide, New York Times bestselling author Fannie Flagg has written an enchanting Christmas story of faith and hope for all ages that is sure to become a classic. Deep in the southernmost part of Alabama, along the banks of a lazy winding river, lies the sleepy little community known … community known as Lost River, a place that time itself seems to have forgotten. After a startling diagnosis from his doctor, Oswald T. Campbell leaves behind the cold and damp of the oncoming Chicago winter to spend what he believes will be his last Christmas in the warm and welcoming town of Lost River. There he meets the postman who delivers mail by boat, the store owner who nurses a broken heart, the ladies of the Mystic Order of the Royal Polka Dots Secret Society, who do clandestine good works. And he meets a little redbird named Jack, who is at the center of this tale of a magical Christmas when something so amazing happened that those who witnessed it have never forgotten it. Once you experience the wonder, you too will never forget A Redbird Christmas.

It just made me feel good.
Fanny Flagg’s style and humor are unbeatable. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and its charactors.
A heartwarming book of developing friendships and a main character who discovers himself in the process. Well worth the read.
A really good read
Just ok, not her best book
Pretty predictable but sweet read for Christmas season. Would love to find a community of such nice folk.
This is a wonderful book that I will make a part of my Christmas celebration each year. An added bonus. . . It is read by the author!
This is a lovely story. Perfect for Christmas season enjoyment.
A most charming easy read. Would love to live there.
I love Fanny Flagg.
Heart-warming story, quirky characters and happy ending. One of Fannie Flagg’s best!
I loved this story and the quirky cast of characters that inhabit it. A wonderful Christmas read!
We read this book aloud together, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a feel-good book about a community who lovingly welcomes a stranger. Anyone who reads it will want to live there and get to know the people. Inspiring inasmuch as a man who believed he was dying mustered the inner strength to pull up his roots and move to a place he had never seen before. His change of environment changed him physically and psychologically. The book is well written, and as it progresses, you aren’t sure whether life becomes better because the character’s health had improved, or because he was loved, or because he had taken risks, or maybe there was something a little magical influencing it all. The imagery and symbolism of the red bird that was pervasive throughout the book added a remarkable artistic element.
I feel as those these are the people I grew up with and I love visiting them in each of Fannie Flagg’s wonderful books!
Loved this book!!!!
A feel good story. She makes her characters so believeable
Sweet and predictable. Not my type of fiction.
A lovely and witty Christmas book. Fanny Flagg never disappoints!
I loved this book because one redbird and one little girl, Patsy, changed the people in a little town. Everyone in the town knew each other but they came together to raise the money for the little girl to undergo several surgeries on her leg. Mr. Campbell told her if you truly believed you can make anything happen. He always wanted to be a painter and it wasn’t until he moved to Lost River that he even tried. He was quite good at it and sold many to help raise the money for Patsy’s operation. Wait until you read the Christmas miracle. It is taking a step back in time, it is nurturing, and most of all, it is no matter what is happening in your life today, follow your journey through because you just never know what lies ahead.
