With the same incomparable style and warm, inviting voice that have made her beloved by millions of readers far and wide, New York Times bestselling author Fannie Flagg has written an enchanting Christmas story of faith and hope for all ages that is sure to become a classic. Deep in the southernmost part of Alabama, along the banks of a lazy winding river, lies the sleepy little community known … community known as Lost River, a place that time itself seems to have forgotten. After a startling diagnosis from his doctor, Oswald T. Campbell leaves behind the cold and damp of the oncoming Chicago winter to spend what he believes will be his last Christmas in the warm and welcoming town of Lost River. There he meets the postman who delivers mail by boat, the store owner who nurses a broken heart, the ladies of the Mystic Order of the Royal Polka Dots Secret Society, who do clandestine good works. And he meets a little redbird named Jack, who is at the center of this tale of a magical Christmas when something so amazing happened that those who witnessed it have never forgotten it. Once you experience the wonder, you too will never forget A Redbird Christmas.

It was exactly what I needed – iight, but not frivolous, tender yet thought-provoking, evanescent, and refreshingly devoid of grammatical error.
It even made me want to go to Louisiana!
Loved it! Heart warming~
Charming
I loved the focus of the story being about interesting people.
I want to live there too. Believable – looked forward to each reading session.
always enjoy Fannie Flagg
It was a fun book to read.
Warm and enjoyable reading
It was a warm -fuzzy break amongst some of the more serious, complicated books I’ve read recently.
This book has wonderful characters. I felt like I was a part of this close-knit Alabama community.
I love Fannie Flagg!
Sweet book to read around the holidays.
Superficial, but cute holiday read though not very believable. Disappointing compared to Flagg’s other writings. Kinda like she just cranked it out to bring in a few bucks for Christmas from gullible shoppers, really.
Doesn’t disappoint.. heart warming , smile producing, Characters are are folks you’d want for neighbors.
If you are from the “south” meaning the deep south, this book will bring back memories and nostalgia you forgot you retained. So true to the life many can relate to and so good to share with those who never got to experience such true heart and normalcy!
I have read all the books written by one of my favorite authors, Fanny Flagg. My only complaint is she does not write more books. They are always filled with great characters and something unexpected. Her books are like a warm fire on a cold winter’s night, warm and comfortable
Nice, feel-good read before Christmas. Humorous with real, entertaining characters. Fannie Flagg’s books are always enjoyable!
A relaxing kind of read! Good holiday book!
A light read with likeable characters and a poignant ending.
Great read – love her writing style.
