With the same incomparable style and warm, inviting voice that have made her beloved by millions of readers far and wide, New York Times bestselling author Fannie Flagg has written an enchanting Christmas story of faith and hope for all ages that is sure to become a classic. Deep in the southernmost part of Alabama, along the banks of a lazy winding river, lies the sleepy little community known … community known as Lost River, a place that time itself seems to have forgotten. After a startling diagnosis from his doctor, Oswald T. Campbell leaves behind the cold and damp of the oncoming Chicago winter to spend what he believes will be his last Christmas in the warm and welcoming town of Lost River. There he meets the postman who delivers mail by boat, the store owner who nurses a broken heart, the ladies of the Mystic Order of the Royal Polka Dots Secret Society, who do clandestine good works. And he meets a little redbird named Jack, who is at the center of this tale of a magical Christmas when something so amazing happened that those who witnessed it have never forgotten it. Once you experience the wonder, you too will never forget A Redbird Christmas.

Charming story and great to read around Christmas time. It deals with a serious subject with grace and charm. Wonderful characters and satisfying story.
enjoyable and heartfelt made me want to move there, slow down and simplify with people who care.
Good Christmas story
I read this book to my Mother and its easy to read and we share new laughter at the characters.
One of my all time favorite boos; frequently recommend and loved by all. Fannnie Flagg outdid herself with this one. Read At least 3 times not only for Christmas. Buy it, borrow it, get from library. You won be sorry.
I loved this book! Very interesting characters.
I have loved everything I’ve ever read by Fannie Flagg. I grew up in the South, and she writes about people I’m absolutely sure must’ve lived down the street, and around the corner from me….except they didn’t, of course. Wishful thinking on my part. This one takes a different turn, and introduces someone from outside into that kind of time & place who absolutely needs it. Yay, Fannie!
This book made my heart feel good!
It’s always a pleasure reading Fannie Flags works. I was not disappointed with A Redbird Christmas. Meeting all the residents of this small sleepy southern town on the Gulf, was akin to watching Mayberry RFD as a kid. Lovely people who take each circumstance and solve it with aplomb while adopting those who stumble into their midst without turning a hair. I was happy to be a ghost resident even for just a short while.
As usual; Fannie knocks it “over the fence”. A great book to be read again and again!
I could probably read this every year–it’s that good!
Enjoy all of her books.
This is a book about good people trying to do good things. Great light reading for our Bookclub during the very busy month of December.
