Cadfael is a favorite character. I enjoy the author’s descriptions of the country side and the events as they are happening. I never loose interest. Ellis Peters thank you for writing so well

Wandering stories with weak plots.
I’ve read other Cadfael books but couldn’t get into this one. Disappointing.
Loved the character and the setting. Interesting and entertaining and learned some history along the way. Always an interesting mystery to be solved.

In think this is one of Peter’ lesser efforts, but still a good read.
