From #1 Bestselling author Morgan Rice comes the debut of a dazzling new fantasy series. A Quest of Heroes (Book #1 in the Sorcerer’s Ring) revolves around the epic coming of age story of one special boy, a 14 year old from a small village on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Ring. The youngest of four, the least favorite of his father, hated by his brothers, Thorgrin senses he is different … different from the others. He dreams of becoming a great warrior, of joining the King’s men and protecting the Ring from the hordes of creatures on the other side of the Canyon. When he comes of age and is forbidden by his father to try out for the King’s Legion, he refuses to take no for an answer: He journeys out on his own, determined to force his way into King’s Court and be taken seriously.
But King’s Court is rife with its own family dramas, power struggles, ambitions, jealousy, violence, and betrayal. King MacGil must choose an heir from amongst his children, and the ancient Dynasty Sword, the source of all their power, still sits untouched, waiting for the chosen one to arrive. Thorgrin arrives as an outsider and battles to be accepted, and to join the King’s Legion.
Thorgrin comes to learn he has mysterious powers he does not understand, that he has a special gift, and a special destiny. Against all odds he falls in love with the king’s daughter, and as their forbidden relationship blossoms, he discovers he has powerful rivals. As he struggles to make sense of his powers, the king’s sorcerer takes him under his wing and tells him of a mother he never knew, in a land far away, beyond the Canyon, beyond even the land of the Dragons.
Before Thorgrin can venture out and become the warrior he yearns to be, he must complete his training. But this may be cut short, as he finds himself propelled into the center of royal plots and counterplots, ones that may threaten his love and bring him down — and the entire kingdom with him.
With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A Quest of Heroes is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

This review is for the entire Sorcerer’s Ring series.
I never saw so many characters in a book all strutting. They strutted here and they strutted there. Almost annoying but it was okay. Then the continuity needed to be edited better. E.g. Gwen would run out of arrows and in the next paragraph she magically had more arrows to shoot. This is just …
I loved it. The details and descriptions were great! Felt like I was fully emersed in the lives of the characters! Will read again and again!
Awesome!
This book is full of wonderful characters and adventures that leave you waiting to read the next page and chapter. It is a delightful read.
I absolutely loved this book and I look forward to reading the following one!
I love fantasy, but this one was missing something for me. Unfortunately forgettable.
I loved the way this book built Thor’s character. He knows what he wants and he’s willing to take risks and work hard for it. It’s obvious he’s different than those around him and the story is slowly adding details. I wasn’t as happy with the ending. It’s a money making mechanism to get me to buy the next book. However, it ends on a disappointing …
I love this book and the whole series. Last time I checked, there were 17 books in it
I enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading Thor’s next adventure.
It left me hanging. I need the next book.
I quickly became attached to the main character and wanted to keep reading to find out what his journey would be.
seemed like teen-lit
This is a fun book for 10-14 year old crowd but I’m enjoying it too. The plot is predictable but it moves a long at a good pace.
It is a genre I don’t normally read. I would love to find something similar in a more advanced reading level.
I recommend it for an easy fun read but
I would rather pay more for the whole book than get a few chapters …
Another great series by Morgan rice. Gripping story with interesting characters. Great reading.
Loved !
Loved this series! I really wish he would have had a better proof reader. Many misspelled words and words out of context made it difficult to read but the stories were still too good to put down
Moved a bit slow and cuts off abruptly. Obviously a first in a series.
This was my first Morgan rice series and I’ve since read a second series, starting on a third. Definitely one of my favorite authors!
Loved this 1st book. I couldn’t put it down , I kept turning the pages well into the night! I can’t wait to read the next one!
Excellent book
