From #1 Bestselling author Morgan Rice comes the debut of a dazzling new fantasy series. A Quest of Heroes (Book #1 in the Sorcerer’s Ring) revolves around the epic coming of age story of one special boy, a 14 year old from a small village on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Ring. The youngest of four, the least favorite of his father, hated by his brothers, Thorgrin senses he is different … different from the others. He dreams of becoming a great warrior, of joining the King’s men and protecting the Ring from the hordes of creatures on the other side of the Canyon. When he comes of age and is forbidden by his father to try out for the King’s Legion, he refuses to take no for an answer: He journeys out on his own, determined to force his way into King’s Court and be taken seriously.
But King’s Court is rife with its own family dramas, power struggles, ambitions, jealousy, violence, and betrayal. King MacGil must choose an heir from amongst his children, and the ancient Dynasty Sword, the source of all their power, still sits untouched, waiting for the chosen one to arrive. Thorgrin arrives as an outsider and battles to be accepted, and to join the King’s Legion.
Thorgrin comes to learn he has mysterious powers he does not understand, that he has a special gift, and a special destiny. Against all odds he falls in love with the king’s daughter, and as their forbidden relationship blossoms, he discovers he has powerful rivals. As he struggles to make sense of his powers, the king’s sorcerer takes him under his wing and tells him of a mother he never knew, in a land far away, beyond the Canyon, beyond even the land of the Dragons.
Before Thorgrin can venture out and become the warrior he yearns to be, he must complete his training. But this may be cut short, as he finds himself propelled into the center of royal plots and counterplots, ones that may threaten his love and bring him down — and the entire kingdom with him.
With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A Quest of Heroes is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

Morgan Rice was one of the original big Kindle sensations, selling and making millions through that media giant. She was the very model of the self-published writer; able to get their stories to the public. I don’t know if it’s encouraging or discouraging, as a poor writer myself, that these books are so bad. The writing is beyond terrible, with …
Geweldig mooi boek, goedgeschreven en leest makkelijk, kan niet stoppen met lezen. Nu gauw de vervolg boeken lezen.
I really liked this book. I will read others in this series.
I enjoyed the book, though there are a lot of errors, repetition, and over-emphasizing basic story elements. These books could be great with a little help from an editor. All in all the main character is likable, and interesting. I am intrigued enough to keep reading. The writing has improved a bit with each book. Some of the errors, …
Some of the plot events seem to be too lucky to be believable. I did enjoy it for the most part, but beware this is not a stand alone book. Just as the action gets really good, it stops. To see any resolution you must buy the next book. And judging how many books are in the series, I have to wonder if any of the books offer satisfying resolutions …
Love this series
Enjoyed the friendships and the rivalrys, was drawn into the story. Was hard to put down, I read late into the night. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Good to read, and good story. Ted.
Great Series! Love the characters!
I remember I read this book many years ago. I loved it! It made my train travels more enjoyable. It’s a fun, easy-to-read story, suitable for all ages. I recommend this to Harry Potter fans.
Really good and fast paced!
Great story
Very good story beginning for a series.
One of the most epic journeys through a book that has ever happened!! Seventeen books were totally worth it!
I really wanted to like this book. All the reviews I read made me think it was going to be my kinda book. Sadly, while I struggled to get into it for nearly a week, I just couldn’t. It just isn’t my kinda book.
I have been reading Fantasy for over 50 years and I like this book. While it is not classic high fantasy, it is still a good read. There are some inconsistencies in the time frames and distances, but that is normally not something that bothers me a great deal. If you are seeking an entertaining story that makes the pages turn, this could be for …
AWESOME!!!!!!
i love this author… i never know what is coming thank you
As a fan of fantasy I enjoyed reading this book and may read more of the series some day.
I found the book to be very good. It caused me to continue in the series to find out what happened to the characters and how they developed in the face of horrible world changing actions. It is a great series.
