I won this ebook in the Goodreads Sweepstakes earlier this year. This would be a good book for a young adult because it’s about Reg Rawlins who is a Psychic Investigator with her own personal issues with her health and a furry psychic partner that’s a cat with an attitude. This story had fairies, pixies and an overly interested warlock helping with a kidnapping.
“A Psychic with Catitude by P.D. Workman is the first book I have read by this author. I enjoyed the book but I wish I had read the first book in the series, it seems like this book picks up where the first book ends. Even with that being said this book can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters it is a quick quirky read. I enjoyed learning about the Black Sand Community, fairies, pixies, witches, a warlock and we can’t forget the Psychic cat. This has many twists and turns that will keep you guessing and turning the pages. The end leaves an opening for another book that hopefully will tie everything up. Very well written. Thank you GoodReads for introducing me to this author.
Fun urban fantasy/paranormal mystery!
This is another fun mystery with Reg Rawlins and her cat, Starlight. A girl has gone missing from her bedroom and Detective Marta Jessup asks Reg to use her considerable psychic ability to help find her. Reg can connect with Calliopia and believes she is being held against her will. In a town like Black Sands, with so many citizens possessing magical or paranormal skills, finding the girl and catching the perpetrators will take all of Reg’s skills and help from Starlight.
You can’t go wrong with adventure, suspense, mystery, and paranormals – it’s all there in this book! This was a fun read. The characters are likeable and the plot has some good twists. I received a free copy but my review is voluntary.
I received an ARC from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. I am really enjoying the Reg Rawlins series. The antics of Reg and her psychic cat are always delightful. I mean, who doesn’t like magical creatures, witches (both good and bad, even though Sarah says there’s no such thing as a bad witch), a psychic cat (as I mentioned) and a warlock who can’t be good no matter how hard he tries? Definitely a winning combination. However, I had a little problem with this book. The first story was definitely a stand-alone even though portions of it carried over into this book and I hope the same will be true for the next one. My problem was that this time the story didn’t feel complete. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger by any means, but I felt a bit cheated at the end. There were as many unanswered questions as there were answered ones when I turned the last page. I’m sure Ms. Workman will come through and tie everything up in the next story. I just wish she had done a little more of that here. All in all, though, I highly recommend the series and think you will enjoy it.
Reg knew she needs to move on and arriving in Florida seemed like a good place to work her scam. Reg had people believing she could talk to dead people. Only strange things start happening after she brings her cat home from the pound and meets Warren Blake her land lady warns her about him. Now she finds she has powers she no idea about this is a great book it was great seeing Reg get her story
PD Workman has another hit series on her hands. This may be more light heart-ed reading than her other books but she still manages to enmesh you in he story.
Black Sands community is confusing. Think you know about magical worlds, well guess again. I am having a hard figuring it out. I feel like i need pencil and paper by my side as I read so I can keep track of all the magical creatures and all the rules. Who likes cats, who doesn’t. What is a fairy, pixie (piksy), warlock, coven.,etc., I can keep going on. At least i gt to learn new words.
Also what happened to Reg doubting her psychic abilities? Thinking that she was just a very careful observer and used that. She seems to have accepted her abilities? Have to keep reading the series just to get is straight.
If I get the ending correctly then I have to say I get it but another part of me say :YUCK! You will have to read it and draw your own conclusion.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC copy.
