When I finally broke free, he was there for me—body, mind, and soul.Staying with someone who is supposed to love you, but instead hurts you, takes its toll. I faced betrayal, but I fought my way out, and now I just want to forget. We all have our stories, but thankfully that one ended, but not without complications. This is my story, and I am writing it from now on. Is he the one to help me …
Is he the one to help me believe in love again, or is the broken, jagged road from my past making it too hard to move on, let alone find love?
A Protector’s Touch is a steamy, suspenseful new adult college romance story of survival, second chances, and of finding love and one’s self again. Trigger warning: Story contains references to past intimate partner violence, but this is in no way graphic. This is a story of April overcoming her past and not letting it define her.

A Protector’s Touch is a wonderful empowering story of finding strength and believing that not every man is an abuser. This was my first book by Parker Sinclair and would love to read more. This book might not be liked by everyone to do the nature of the topic but I find it moving and April’s courage inspiring.
April and Shan have always looked and wanted to talk to one another but because of April’s ex, they never did. With her relationship over, Shan picked the right moment to play knight in shining armor and April’s life changed for the better. With Shan and her best friend Nia by her side, she has the strength to finally face and do something about her abuser. There is instant chemistry between Shan and April and I liked the slow burn feel between the two.
I would love to see April’s best friend get a book next.
A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair is a beautiful stand alone novel. It made me realize things about myself that I had never considered before. The author really did her research and found the best way to handle a bad situation. The support of the women in this story is amazing! This one with bring a tear to your eye and make you grateful to be alive.
A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair is a new adult college romance. This book may not be for everyone as it does hint to past violence in a relationship. However, it is not graphic.
April didn’t think she’d ever be the girl that faced the issues she’s faced in her most recent relationship, like so many others. She had a pretty sheltered life growing up so she had no idea what she was getting into when she got to college. April knew however, if she didn’t get out, she wouldn’t get out. Now April is working on herself and her confidence. Will she be able to move on or will her past threaten to consume her?
This book was well written and touched on a sensitive subject in a way that doesn’t deter people from reading it. It’s inspiring to see April pull herself up and and work through her issues.
A Protector’s Touch is a novel by Parker Sinclair. This is my first novel by this author.
April is a character who is trying to move forward in life after an abusive relationship. Slowly she started to take control of her life and become a more stronger and confident women after meeting Shan who helps her.
This may be short but it’s told in a well written and inspiring way.
I don’t want to give too much away. I highly recommend this novel
A Protector’s Touch: A New Adult College Romance & Romantic Suspense Novel by Parker Sinclair touched on a subject that isn’t often discussed and a applaud Ms. Sinclair for taking it on and hope others will do the same.
April shouldn’t have had to deal with all that she did. She is so young, only a sophomore in college which is only a year older than my daughter. To realize that she could experience that really scares me.
There are a few things I would have liked to see happen differently, however I really enjoyed the book and hope to see more by this author.
A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair
My rating: 5 stars
Wow! This book is truly heartbreaking and beautiful.
I can sympathize with April, and can see why she thinks she so weak in dealing with her scumbag of an ex boyfriend. I hate that her or any woman for that matter, lives with the abuse she did. When she meets Shan, her life starts to change and for the better. He dealt with a similar situation with his mother before, and it seems that he inspires hope in April that she can take care of her ex-boyfriend through the courts, be done with this mess of a relationship and move on to a brighter future. April becomes a stronger woman able to take care of herself and stand up for herself ant that is truly inspiring. Shan is a wonderful character and shows that there are good men out there.
I highly recommend this book! I appreciate the author taking the time to showcase the world of someone living in a relationship with physical abuse and how she overcame it. I hope anyone who reads this book and is in a similar situation can find inspiration and hope.
This is a tough but good book. It deals with a abusive topic. I’m sure there is an element of truth to this story. I can’t imagine what these women go through not counting their loved ones. This shows a side that deals with the event through to the legal ending. I thought the characters were very likable and true to form. Shan was a delight to read. He inspires hope that there are good guys out there. I was leery a couple times but he is a true knight. April thinks she is weak but this event actually made her stronger. I liked how pro active she was for herself. She is a star among the sky as she can inspire many girls.
It was interesting to me how the words the EX spouts at the beginning of a relationship actually mean something else by the end of a abusive relationship.
“Look at all the things I can buy you, take you to, provide for you, all in ways no one has done before”
Possible translation:
“We will always be together, even if you want to escape”
I shouldn’t say I love it but how ironic.
This was a good eye opening read. I would recommend to all women and even men. It has a nice romantic side but it is also full of suspense.
This story was amazing and so well told that it had me needing to know how it was going to end. Things always added up but something was just off and we found out by the end that things are never how they truly appear. Shan and April really give it the authenticity and it’s why I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
