I adored Aiden and Colbi’s story. It’s an emotional novella of loss, love, and second chances. Aiden is my favorite kind of hero, unselfish. Eight years ago he let his heart leave to follow her dreams in the big city. This novella is more emotional than other books I’ve read by Ms. Black, and I loved the connection between the couple. The story is well-paced and realistic. If you haven’t read Lacey Black, start here. After you love this novella, pick a series and binge read her other books.
This was my first Lacey Black book. I have to say I was not disappointed. It was a wonderfully written love story about Colbi and Aiden.
Colbi and Aiden were friends as kids that turned into more as they got older. They shared a lot of first. Although Colbi loved Aiden she decided to chase her dream and went to New York. Aiden wanted Colbi to be happy and would not stand in her way. He let her go not realizing she would stay away so long. Eight years Colbi didn’t return home but when her brother died she found herself in her home town and face to face with Aiden.
Being home for two weeks and being with Aiden him being there for her helping her get through her grief of loosing her brother. She questions her decision of moving to New York. She has to decide between her dream job and Aiden again. Question is does she chose Aiden this time or her dream job again? Like the last time Aiden will not beg her to stay but if she leaves he will not stop her but his heart will be shattered once again.
This was a sweet second chance love story. I liked both Colbi and Aiden. They seemed to fit together like the perfect puzzle piece. I have to say the nickname Aiden has for Colbi was unique and I loved it. This was a quick read if you want a sweet love story and have a few hours you would probably enjoy this too.
his is about a second chance at romance for Colbi and Aiden. It is a novella so it is short. Good storyline. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
While this was a short book, it was also an amazing book. I don’t want to say much in the way of Aiden and Colbi, because this book, you want to read without spoilers. BUT I will say this, this story is wholesome, and flows so well it feels like a full length novel. I could feel the devastation that Colbi felt, when her grief hits her about her brothers passing, I could feel her love for her family and the love of her life. This pint size book is all that and more. I was so caught up in this book while I was at the dentist I didn’t even hear my name being called. Now that takes mad writing skills. If I could give this book a million stars I would.
Colbi Leigh has been living in New York for 8 years, away from her family and from the love she left behind. Now she’s headed home. With a lot going on, she knows she will see Aiden. She is both looking forward to it and dreading it equally. Until she sees him.
Aiden Hughes knew letting her go was the best thing he could do. He has missed her and no one else can take her place. He wished she was back for reasons other than the one that has brought her here.
I loved these characters and how they were able to pick up where they left off without any regrets for the time apart. This is truly a second chance romance mixed with the love of the brother’s best friend. The characters are well developed. The storyline grabbed my attention from the beginning. The only downside is that the story doesn’t last long enough and was over so quickly. I couldn’t put my kindle down until I was done. It was a great story. As a long standing fan of this author, this story didn’t disappoint.
Omg! I laughed, I cried, I swooned!! This story! I tell you. It had it all and more and wasn’t nearly long enough! But long enough to fall in love with Colbi and Aidan! Just gah!!! I loved it and I couldn’t put it down!
