Most people would probably be embarrassed to land themselves back in their hometown and working at a pizzeria after an ugly divorce. Not me.It’s home, and I have one last shot to make Wren Daniels see me as more than just her brother’s best friend. When the opportunity to show her what’s been right in front of her this whole time presents itself, I take it, holding nothing back this time.Wren … nothing back this time.
Wren thinks we’re pretending, but there’s nothing fake about the way I feel.
After all, she’s always had…a pizza my heart.

This book was so fun. I laughed alot I swooned alot. It was a slow burn brother’s best friend storyline. I can’t wait for the next book. This is a total standalone
Holy crap! This book, I don’t really know what to say. Teagan Hunter absolutely slays the Rom-Com genre. I have yet to find an author that will make me bust out in a fit of laugher quite like her. I’m not talking about a little chuckle – we’re talking about full out, shoulders shaking, trying not to laugh obnoxiously loud.
Foster and Wren’s story was absolutely beautiful. Brother’s best friend is one of my favorite tropes and this one was done splendidly! I’m super anxious for I Knead You Now!
I’m a fan of this author’s books. She writes romantic comedies that are easy, breezy and super enjoyable.
PIZZA MY HEART is the first in the new “SLICE” series (I hope the next book is written how I think it will be) and it’s world building is fantastic. I am 100% invested in all of the characters we were introduced to and was happy to read about childhood friends Wren & Foster.
I don’t know if this writer plots a story line or just writes as she thinks and it does not matter. This story is well plotted, has a very clear beginning, middle and end and flows well from the very first page to the very last. There is humor and snark (they are different, you know) and romance.
This is one I would recommend to my younger cousins (who are now in college- sheesh) and my friends alike.
I love me a good rom com. This book was sexy, hilarious, and so freaking amazing!! A Pizza My Heart is a slow-burn friends to lovers romance that will leave your heart full and your panties melting!
Foster is EVERYTHING. He is such a sexy, hilarious character that is ALL man! The wit and the banter between Foster and Wren is perfect. I love the back and forth between the two.
This is unfortunately my first book my Teagan! I know, I know, I’m slacking! But after reading A Pizza My Heart, I am hooked! I loved the passion that you could feel coming from the book. It really made for a great book!
The only thing I didn’t like was that it’s OVER. I can’t wait to see where she takes the series!
“Because you and I, Wren—we’re bound to happen. Whether you want it or not, you have a piece of my heart, and I don’t want it back.”
Hunter has the perfect recipe for stirring up trouble. One hot bachelor + One wary beauty = Steamy romance. Foster and Wren put love on the menu and spotlight temptation as the main course. A Pizza My Heart, allows your emotions to have a little fun. Laughter, romance and spice serve up a tasty dish.
Teagan Hunter is a master of the rom-com. Whenever I see she has a new book, I get excited because I know immediately I’m going to thoroughly enjoy it. I haven’t been wrong yet. Her writing is smart and funny. Her characters are snarky, relatable, and charming.
Wren and her twin Winston were just 13 when they blew into town. Their first day of school, they get into a fistfight with each other when some bullies push Foster in the middle of it. A two week suspension later, the twins are back and now Foster’s got friends. The three become the best of friends.
That is until Foster meets an marry a vacationer and leaves with her. Wren is devastated. She never understood why he left, and why he never kept in touch. We’re privy to the fact that Foster was in love with Wren, but she never looked at him as anything more than another brother.
Foster’s back in town, divorced and sleeping on Winston’s couch. He’s taken to meeting women off an app and doing it at Wren and Winston’s father’s pizza joint. Laughter ensues, ending when Wren’s best friend Drew decides that Wren needs to “date” Foster, so she could see just what he’s doing wrong and educate him on how to have a proper date.
You know you’re reading a great book when you get so invested, you’re wondering about the side characters, and wishing that these people were real and your friends. I love a good rom-com and A Pizza My Heart is as good as it gets. A must read for all rom-com fans.
*I received an ARC of this story and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Listen, I can’t even with Teagan. (Ha. I rhymed)
This book is stupidly good. But who expected anything less from her?!
Wren and Foster are hot. Their chemistry is off the charts. Then you have your supporting characters like Drew, Winston and Wren’s dad, that add the funny bits in. It’s an all around great book. I will always recommend anything from Teagan. I found myself highlighting so many quotes from this book. It’s hard to decide which one was my favorite. I mean a quote like, ‘she didn’t believe in vegetables or their “fake ass powers” ‘. That alone should make anyone want to read this book!
I love Teagan’s romcoms there simply amazing, you have a hard time to put them down, there laugh out loud, I don’t recommend having anything to drink while reading or the chances of it either coming out of your nose or flying out of your mouth is high. A Pizza my Heart is no different from her other romcom’s, you fall for the characters and are rooting for them, this one is about Wren and Foster. Wren, Foster and her brother Winston were best friends since they were 13 years old. Foster moves away for a couple of years then moves back to his home town and starts his life over, on a first date he runs into Wren, of course his first date goes horrible, after a couple horrible dates, Wren agrees to coach him, but she soons learns something that may or may not change their relationship. A Pizza my heart is a one click laugh out loud story that you won’t want to put down.
I was INSTANTLY hooked on this story. I instantly fell in love with Wren and her best friend, Drew. The dates that Foster is going on. The dialogue is on point, it is hilarious. Pure rom com gold!
Wren and Foster have been friends since they were children, Foster is also best friends with Wren’s twin brother Winston. Foster had left town without a goodbye to Wren, but now he is back and a single man. These two had so much chemistry and an undeniable connection. I loved their friendship, the easy going side of it but when they finally gave into each other and their feelings it was EXPLOSIVE!
I love Foster and his mission to prove to Wren that there is more to them than just being friends. Seriously, the man is swoon worthy and book boyfriend material. It is so easy to fall in love with him.
Now the secondary characters in this are FANTASTIC. I love Drew. She was absolutely hilarious. She is a great friend to Wren and her dislike towards Winston lead to a few laughs. Winston, it was hard not to love him. Plus the twin connection was great. Simon, Wren and Winston’s father is great and of course, Blythe and Randy!
This book was pure gold. It was hilarious, it was sweet and you just can’t help but smile. It is the PERFECT summer read, so sit back and grab a slice of your favorite pizza and get ready to laugh your pants off.
4.5
I floved this hilarious HEA romance. Foster and Wren are spectacular and I love their chemistry. The emotions poured from the pages and I didn’t want to put this down.
There were some things that I definitely felt I could relate to, and I absolutely loved the speakeasy. It reminded me of a place close home. The sensory of this book, between the food and the places pulled me right there with Wren and Foster falling in love with them.
I definitely recommend this book!
Siblings Best Friend, Second Chance
Teagan Hunter knocks this book out of the park! It is funny and whitty and everything I could want in a book. It has steamy scenes and two main characters I have fallen head over heels in love with.
Wren, this woman is sassy, sarcastic, and independent. She is dedicated and takes pride in doing the work she loves, she cares deeply about her family and friends, and she is a spitfire that knows exactly who she is and will never apologize for it.
And Foster, oh how I love this man! He is just too perfect in all the best ways. He is funny and charming, he loves deeply, loves dogs, and more importantly he loves Wren wholeheartedly and without doubt.
The way Foster looks at, thinks about, and acts around Wren makes me swoon so hard! He is just such a gentleman when he wants to be, naughty when he feels like it, and just a genuine guy all-around. And when Wren starts to realize her true feelings for Foster you can help but fall in love too. Their dynamic is just so all-consuming. They are their complete selves around each other and it’s beautiful to behold.
Teagan Hunter has once again made me fall madly and deeply in love with her words, her characters, her story! I can’t recommend this book enough
Why aren’t more people talking about this book?! It. Is. Hilarious. Foster and Wren are fun and flirty and this book just makes you happy. It’s steamy with almost no angst – plus Chapter 10 is everything! Get ready to laugh out loud, swoon and leave with your heart so very full.
“Because you and I, Wren—we’re bound to happen. Whether you want it or not, you have a piece of my heart, and I don’t want it back.”
If you just need a straightforward romantic comedy that just makes you feel good the whole way through – this is it!
Original review: https://myshelfbooks.wordpress.com/2021/01/12/review-a-pizza-my-heart-by-teagan-hunter/
Contemporary Romance: This story follows the adventures of Wren and Foster. They were best friends since they were 13-years-old, so it was hard to accept Foster’s disappearance following a woman to the other part of the country. But after a failed marriage, Foster comes back ready to join the dating masses. That is how he meets Wren again: in the pizza place where she works. It gets pretty clear that the poor guy needs to up his game if he wants to get some action, so they decided to fake a relationship in order to train for future conquests. But… are they really faking?
Friends to lovers, Faking: Teagan doesn’t risk at all in the use of some of the most common schemas in the Romance genre. But honestly, she is one of those writers who doesn’t need to make a big effort to write an enjoyable story. From the first moment we know they are more than friends and that faking will be quickly discarded. I have always found the development of her stories rather simple and this one is no exception. Is that bad? In this case, not at all. The mix between her style, the uncomplicated story, the banter and weird humor and the charismatic characters is the perfect balance for a great book.
Funny, Great characters: When I pick a book by Teagan I know I’m going to love the characters and that I wll laugh with some of the most absurd scenes you can imagine. If an author has fun writing a story, the book will always show that to the reader somehow. This book is a good example of that theory, although I must admit I found the Texting books funnier.
Fumes: I’m afraid one star has been dropped of the final mark due to Winston’s disgusting habit. I’m actually afraid of picking the next book in the saga, where that character is going to be one of the main ones (I think). I have struggled with the few scenes where Wren’s brother is present, so I can’t imagine a whole book with those. I hope I’m able to deal with the smoking and set my mind to enjoy the romantic trip.
Four years ago Foster ran away because Wren friend zoned him. But after his marriage fails epically he is ready to come home. This time he won’t walk away from Wren so easily but first he has to make her see that they are more than just friends.
This was another book that I had a smile on my face the entire time. Wren and Foster were so cute and fun together. Their story was a bit of a slow burn minus a lot of the angst and all the laughter. And when these two finally connect holy hotness was it gooooooood. And the secondary characters were hilarious and perfect. Can’t wait to read all their stories too.
I am feeling all sorts of giddy after reading this story. Jonas and Frankie are absolutely adorable and I can’t get enough of them. It is such a sweet, funny, heartwarming, and adorable story of first love and their second chance at it. It is a quick read and worth diving into for a feel good mood.
So…Was I supposed to buy into the notion this guy, Foster, was so in “L*O*V*E”with the heroine years earlier he ran off/left town/got hitched with a random tourist beach bunny he’d just met…without saying good-bye to her? Only to return to the scene of the crime (her family owned restaurant where Wren still worked) on a random blind date a few months after his messy, ugly divorce? To have him go on…not one…but consecutive nightly blind dates there with her witnessing/giving him snarky advice?
Well, I can’t help but share with you a piece of my mind on that matter, folks. “NO”..just N-O!!! That does not work for me! Heck, he never even asked about her when he’d call her family to check in/chat over the phone over those same years.. Only to get upset he’d missed out on what had been happening in Wren’s life. Really? Just Really? I don’t know about you but that did not set the mood for romance IMHO. Yeah, we are given an explanation, but, again, I just didn’t buy into it. This guy was a real milk toast kind of man, if you ask me.
The back and forth familiar, snarky banter was likely intended to come across funny, but I actually started to find it rather exhausting. Therefore, A Pizza My Heart turned stone cold for me. Here’s to hoping others enjoy it. I just ain’t got time for that, if you know what I mean. I didn’t finish it, folks.

Because you and I, Wren, we’re bound to happen. Whether you want it or not, you have a piece of my heart, and I don’t want it back.
Oh my heart. This was the cutest fluffing book I’ve read in a long time and I absolutely FLOVED it. I found myself smiling the whole way through.
After reading Doughn’t Let Me Go (book 3 in the slice series) I just new I had to go back and read the 1st two books. Im slightly ashamed to admit that these books have been on my TBR for months but hey it’s ok because I finally read them and I honestly feel like this was the perfect time as I was looking for a fun, sweet and easy to read low drama book and thats exactly what this was.
Foster moves back to his hometown after a failed marriage and runs into Wren one of his childhood best friends and the girl he was madly in love with except sadly she had no clue. He also happens to be best friends with her twin brother Winston.
Wren was upset when Foster left 4 years ago without so much as a goodbye. He was like family after all so now that he is back in town she doesn’t trust that he wont just up and leave again. After witnessing him on some disastrous first dates she decides to help him by going on some pretend dates with him so he can get back out there. But why does it feel like they’re not pretending.
Ugh seriously I NEEDED this book so bad. It was so light and funny but still had a few more emotional and heart felt scenes. Foster and Wren had the best banter and amazing chemistry and listening to the way Foster feels about Wren in his inner dialogue had me swooning so hard. I loved these two so much as well as every single side character and could read about all of them and never get bored. Teagan is fast becoming a favourite author of mine and I will definitely keep reading any and all of her books.
This is more or less the perfect rom-com. It has all the feels, it’s sexy, it’s funny and left me perfectly satisfied.
I loved this book. There’s so much sexual tension it sizzles, and the entire read is hilarious. I laughed out loud several times. I can honestly say I’ve never highlighted so many paragraphs in any other book as I did in this one. Both Wren and Foster are practically insta-likable and snarky in the very best way. They’re far from perfect, but so, so perfect together. *sigh*
The first few pages though, had me a bit confused. Reading about Wren’s and her best friend Drew’s antics at work had me thinking they were about 15 years old. And I had not signed up to read a high school romance. Luckily, that was not the case, and after getting past that first hurdle, I sort of inhaled the rest of the story in one sitting.
There’s much to love about this read. But one of the most memorable is really Wren’s honest thoughts on sp*nk. As every reader of love-stories knows, there’s always lots of swallowing going on. And fictional j*zz apparently tastes great. Wren, however, doesn’t suffer from this gross (!) misconception, and I adore Hunter for that!
I loved both Wren and Foster. Their banter and their insane chemistry. But in all honesty, Wren was also a bit obtuse. Foster confessed his feelings for her over and over. And each single time, Wren was awestruck. She went from being surprised, then becoming all warm and fuzzy because she felt the same way, and finally forgetting about it all and going back to thinking it’s all fake. Despite that there are some pretty hot and heavy petting going on in between all the confessions. I guess that’s the one thing about this read I had trouble looking past. That same scenario repeated itself a few too many times. I’m guessing the intent was to convey Wren’s insecurity and fear of Foster leaving her again, but Hunter missed the mark there just a bit. Fortunately, everything is forgiven and then some since Wren is so bloody spunky!
But when all is said and done, A Pizza My Heart is an awesome romance (despite Wren being a bit daft). And Hunter is clearly a fantastic storyteller. The altogether warm feelings I had while reading this book is a testament to that. This is the kind of story that will put a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your chest. A great story for all romance lovers.

A Great Slice Of Romance
This quick read was able to give me all the feels. It wasn’t a book that had me feeling so much angst I couldn’t take it.
When and Foster grow up being best friends along with Wren’s brother Winston. When Foster comes back to town, he’s all grown up and easy on the eyes!
I so enjoyed the banter between Wren and Foster. These characters were real, and didn’t talk like they had sticks up there butt. They talked through things and COMMUNICATED!
I can’t wait to read the next installment in this Slice series!
Foster grew up with Wren and her twin brother Winston in fact they were inseparable and he still remains best friends with Winston but he moved away and left Wren behind and he took a piece of her heart with him. Wren just got on with her life and it was only when Foster walked back into the restaurant she worked in did she realise just what he meant to her. Problem is he is still her brothers best friend and that means he should be off limits…. Foster has grown up a lot over the years and he knows what he wants and that’s Wren but can she put aside the fact he is her twins best friend…..
This book will certainly have you laughing or should I say snorting out loud, it will also have you giggling behind your reader as you get to know this couple but you have to remember this is still a romance and it has its fair share of steamy moments as Wren and Foster get reacquainted. It’s fun, its witty and it has the perfect mix of love, passion, friendship and humour. I read this book in one sitting so please make sure you have time to really enjoy A Pizza My Heart you certainly won’t regret one clicking this must read romantic comedy .
