Most people would probably be embarrassed to land themselves back in their hometown and working at a pizzeria after an ugly divorce. Not me.It’s home, and I have one last shot to make Wren Daniels see me as more than just her brother’s best friend. When the opportunity to show her what’s been right in front of her this whole time presents itself, I take it, holding nothing back this time.Wren … nothing back this time.
Wren thinks we’re pretending, but there’s nothing fake about the way I feel.

A Pizza My Heart by Teagan Hunter was a fun, sweet, sexy, and hilarious romantic comedy that had me rolling on the floor laughing my a** off with those laugh out loud moments! I think this book had me laughing within the first few pages and I didn’t stop until the very end because with each new chapter there were more hilarious moments thrown our way!
Wren and Foster’s playful banter gave me LIFE and I couldn’t help but fall in love with every second of their story. This storyline was PERFECT…I mean who doesn’t love a good brother’s best friend romance because I KNOW THAT I DO! Oh and that slow-burn kind of romance (that is totally worth the wait) kept me on my toes!
Teagan Hunter is one of my QUEENS of ROMCOMS and she never ceases to amaze with each new release. I absolutely loved everything about this story and I cannot wait to read more books in the Slice standalone series! I am already counting down the days until I can get my hands on I Knead You Tonight, which I have no doubt is going to be worth the wait!
This was so much fun and entertaining to read! I loved that it was light, no over-the-top drama, just an easy read with a great love story. One of the many things that draws me to Teagan’s writing are her characters. I totally want to be friends with all of them. With Wren and Foster, they have amazing chemistry together and their banter is so on point. It was fun reading them go back and forth. I can’t wait for the next book in this series, it’s going to be a good one!
I have a very short list of authors whose books I can preorder or one-click buy and be 100% confident I will love. Teagan Hunter is one of those authors. Her books have the perfect blend of humor without being eye-rollingly silly, heart without excess angst, substance without senseless drama, and passion without sounding like a porn script. She has also mastered the art of writing twentysomethings with maturity – something many New Adult authors haven’t figured out. Not that they don’t act like twentysomethings, but they also don’t act like fifteen year olds who can legally drink.
Anyway, A Pizza My Heart. Foster and Wren. This book is everything. Slice 10 (chapter 10) made me laugh out loud. The characters made me fall in love with them all. Randy and Blythe, Drew, Simon, Sullivan (he MUST have a story to be told!), and even Winston all drew me into their little world. Foster and Wren, though, are fire. They are the most perfect book couple I’ve read in a very long time. I loved their teasing, their humor, and their sweetness. And they were hot. I wanted to stand up and cheer, though, when Foster was asking Winston (Wren’s twin brother and Foster’s best friend) if he was okay with them together. Winston’s answer? “You’re my best friend. She’s my sister. Big fucking whoop. I’m not here for the dramatics of that bullshit bro-code shit. Can’t help who your heart digs.”
THANK YOU! Now, let Winston go visit alllllll the other books with brother’s best friend tropes and teach them a thing or two! The whole bro code, controlling who the sister can date thing is a huge pet peeve of mine and Winston’s response was the perfect one.
Now, drop everything and go read this book. It’s free with Kindle Unlimited, or you can buy Kindle or paperback versions.
PS I want a real-life restaurant like Slice. That place sounds amazing.
Wren and Foster knew each other when they were younger, along with her twin, Winston, the three were inseparable. When Foster left, Wren was upset, but never fully admitted to herself why that was. Fast forward and Foster is back, not only back in town, but back working at the pizzeria alongside Wren. He’s never gotten over her, and when the opportunity presents itself for him to make Wren see him as a Foster, the man, not just Foster, her brother’s best friend, he knows he has to take it. This is his one shot to make her see that he’s the guy for her. Wren doesn’t understand or want to admit that she feels differently towards Foster now that he’s returned. As the two reconnect it’s easy for everyone on the outside to see the attraction, but the question is, can Wren put aside the fact that Foster is her brother’s best friend, and give him a fair chance?
Let me just start out by saying that I was in chapter two and literally spit out my water while reading because I was laughing out loud. ‘A Pizza My Heart’ is a hilariously funny and sweet read that I couldn’t get enough of. Teagan Hunter has a way of making you laugh so hard it hurts but of also putting in the sweetest moments that just hit you right in the feels. Her books never leave me disappointed and this book even is no exception. The witty back and forth and the sass from all of the characters, made this book such a light hearted and fun read. I recommend this book to anyone that needs a quick, fun, and steamy read all rolled into one amazing book! Now if only we could get the next book in the series like, next month, because I have a feeling that book is going to be just as epic as this one!
What a cute, fun ,light read! I absolutely adore it!
The chemistry between Wren and Foster was phenomenal. From the beginning, I was drawn in by Wren’s sass. Looove her. I wanted to be best friends with her. I like that she’s not afraid to speak her mind. She’s hardworking and can definitely hold her own.
And Foster, swoon. All the unrequited love and the pinning, ah! I felt it in my heart. These two together just felt so right.
I am a banter addict. You give me good banter, you’ve got yourself a fan for life. The back and forth between all these characters, but Wren and Foster especially, was spot on. Perfection. I could not get enough. I am completely addicted to Teagan’s brand of humor.
If you’re looking for a super lighthearted, laugh out loud, friends to lovers/brother’s best friend/unrequited love romantic comedy then you need this book. I can’t wait to read what’s next.
I think Teagan Hunter was trying to kill me with the laughter, sass and hotness in A Pizza My Heart! Foster and Wren’s hot, sweet and sometimes bitter love story was absolutely amazing. It was hilarious, sexy and entertaining to the point of insanity!
A Pizza My Heart is second chance, brother’s best friend and best friends to lovers trope bundled into one kickass story. God I love Wren. This crazy, snarky, witty, smart, vibrant and independent woman with her beautiful heart and no-filter mouth is like bright sunshine after a boring lifeless rainy day. I wanted to shake her and pour some sense into her about Foster. What can I say about this guy? Oh my heart, I can’t take it! He is so sweet, caring, protective, charming and gorgeous. He may have failed to make Wren see his true feelings once. But the cold harsh years have hardened his resolve only! A whole lot of entertaining secondary characters make the cast even more appealing!
The chemistry is free flowing and intense between Foster and Wren. A heated sexual tension is buzzing under their banter and flirty conversations. The friendship and easy camaraderie make it more beautiful. I found myself smiling and laughing amd swooning over the story like a love sick fool. Oh I am in love for sure. I am in love with the brilliant plot, adorable characters and the author’s captivating writing.
A Pizza My Heart is a top recommendation if you simply want to forget about your worries and habe a damn great time doing it. You will feel lighter , happier and a lot warmer in your heart after reading this Rom Com deliciousness.
Received ARC for Honest Review
I wish I’d had pizza on hand while reading this book because while it may have provided laughs and swoony moments, all that talk about pizza and chicken fingers had me hungry (and a potential pairing had me hungry for an enemies-to-lovers read). If you’ve read Teagan Hunter’s previous series, you know this author does rom-com and she does it oh-so-well. Her main characters have the sort of banter and chemistry that makes you root for them while also wishing they were real people you’d love to be friends with. Foster and Wren were the closest of friends, and it was a friendship that was partly connected to Foster’s friendship and Wren’s relationship with Winston while also partly independent of all that. I loved that Hunter stayed true to her vision for the story and didn’t go the usual path that other books tend to meander along. You’d think that an angst addict like me would be disappointed by the lack of drama here, but nope! Books like this are good for my soul because my heart needs to heal from the heavier stories that tend to batter it. Hunter’s writing has always put a smile on my face, and A Pizza My Heart is just the latest in her arsenal to do it. I adored Foster and Wren and I know you will too! Five-plus stars.
What a fantastic second chance, brother’s best friend romance! I’ve never had the chance to read Teagan Hunter before and I’m now HOOKED! This story was full of laughs, fun and emotional moments. Foster and Wren were an absolute delight to read about. I enjoyed every moment of their journey, from the very beginning when they met to the pivotal moment in their relationship, this book has it all and more! I will definitely be diving into ALL of Teagan’s books while I await the next book in this series!
This romcom by Teagan Hunter was fun, sweet and an easy read. If you are familiar with her work then you will know to expect great laughs and fun characters.
Wren and Foster had great chemistry and were entertaining. The banter will have you laughing out loud. Foster is just so sweet. I loved his character.
A pizza my heart is a light and fun read. This is just another great book by Teagan Hunter that I recommend to all romcom lovers.
A Pizza My Heart was such an enjoyable read. I loved the characters Foster and Wren and the love that had been hiding in both of their hearts.
Wren is continuously working, and she’s exhausted and unsure of many things in her life. So that is when Foster decides to re-appear into her life. Him being sick of hiding these feelings, he’s had for so long. Pizza My Heart is that story of best friends to lovers but also full of second chances.
As usual, I loved the characters and even the secondary characters throughout this story. I didn’t connect emotionally with Wren or Foster. However, it didn’t stop me from devouring this story. Their banter and sarcasm was the highlight. Of course, that passion for each other that is later discovered.
I’ve loved Teagan’s stories for a while now. I wasn’t at all disappointed with this story and can’t wait to see what else happens in this series.
Overall, Four Boundless Stars.
5 Cranky Stars
I mean come on Teagan Hunter is synonymous with the word pizza it was only a matter of time she would do this and do this thing she did. I laughed at the banter between Foster and Wren. They are such a cute little couple who didn’t know they even had a future together until they decided to fake date each other to help Foster learn some things. What could totally go wrong?
Foster Marlett has returned home after suddenly leaving his friends and the small town they called home behind. When he shows up at Slice all Wren Daniels can do is gawk and think holy smokes he grew up. They have both harbored feelings for each other just never acted on it. Well Foster did but it didn’t go as planned. He signs up for a dating app and after several disastrous dates at Slice Wren gives him pointers. Drew (Wrens bestie) suggests they fake date and they can help each other and give pointers to get them both back out in the dating pool. We all know where this will lead. Unchecked feelings, a dog named Mike, pizza and a lumpy couch are only half of what Foster and Wren must overcome if they want this to work.
I loved that Foster is loosely based on someone the author knows heck he is even on the cover. This book is in that awesome Teagan fashion with all the swoon and snark one could ask for. It’s also a tad outside of what I’ve read from her in the past as far as the more detailed sexy times and I’m here for it. You go girl!! He has a dog named Mike which is also funny you’ll learn about that in the book as well. I read this book in basically a day and I gave a pizza my heart to Wren and Foster heck even to Drew and Winston too.
A Pizza My Heart was such a cute and fun story! It had a little bit of everything that I love about Teagan Hunter’s books. It was funny, romantic, and sweet. But my favorite thing about it was the witty characters and their amazing chemistry.
The love story was super cute, but I wanted just a little more angst from this story. The beginning and end were perfect, but I wanted the book to dive just a little deeper into the hero’s past in the middle of the book, which is my reasoning for giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
But honestly, this book is such a quick and fun read. The love story is adorable and the characters are very memorable. And I’m so excited to read the next book in the series!
So many feel goods in this book. It was wildly entertaining from start to finish.
Who doesn’t love a book that centers around pizza?
This rom-com is full of heart and fun banter. The way Wren gives Foster crap is hilarious and I couldn’t wait for each of his dates to see what she would say next.
When we finally get to where Foster tries to win Wren over he is super swoony.
Make sure to place your order for A Pizza My Heart- pick up time June 20th
This book is the result of great ingredients:
2 characters
a dash of snark
a heap of humor
a pinch of sexy times
mix together and you get another 5 star read from Teagan Hunter.
Oh how I adored every slice of this delicious story! Wren and Foster worked together immediately. Their chemistry was believable, as friends and as a couple.
APMH gives me more of that signature Teagan Hunter snark that I so deeply love. The characters have a great sense of humor throughout the entire book and it feels like a modern-day romantic comedy movie I watched play out. The setting mainly takes place at Wren’s dad’s pizza shop and I loved this unusual setting nearly as much as I love pizza itself (and, let’s be honest, that’s saying a lot because PIZZA!)
One of my favorite parts of this brother’s best friend romance is the low angst. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good angsty book but sometimes I just want to ENJOY a book without a huge amount of drama and this book delivered that to me.
And Teagan really left me hungry for more with the tease of book 2, I Knead You Tonight, at the end of A Pizza My Heart!! She also left me constantly singing “I Need You Tonight” by INXS but what can you do?!
PS – Here’s a little Tidbit for ya; I was also singing “A Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin the entire time I read this book! LOL
PPS – Slice 10 is my ultimate favorite 😉
Not only is the cover completely adorbs, the title is off the charts… but the words, the words are just what I expect from Teagan Hunter. I fell in love with the light story. There was like zero drama and angst. I adore a story where the story is based on just happiness and just living a content life with pizza, of
course. Wren and Foster were fighting a loss cause from the get-go. I loved watching them fall!
I totally recommend Mrs. Hunter’s books. Her writing is smooth and fun. The banter felt real and was seriously laughable! If you enjoy the quick wit, the light and sweet romance with a side of heat, than this kid just the perfect slice for you! There isn’t much better than an adorably sweet brother’s best friend romance!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I just love Teagan Hunter!! This clearly isn’t my first read of hers.
I was super excited to get this ARC! The story behind her writing this book just really stuck with me. I thought it was such a sweet idea and the storyline sounded so good! And boyyyy was it.
Wren has to be one of my favorite heroines I have ever read. She is just so sassy and badass. Love that she still helps out her dad at his pizza shop but doesn’t really care for people. Her smart remarks are hilarious! But when her best friend comes back after leaving without a goodbye 4 years ago, things change.
Foster has decided to come back home after a really horrible divorce, a marriage he really shouldn’t have been in in the first place. But what is a guy to do when he has been in love with his best friend and she didn’t even really know.
I loved everything about this book. It is sweet but super steamy!!
5⃣
After a painful divorce Foster has moved back to town to show Wren, his best friend’s sister, that they are destined to be more than friends. He decides that showing up at the family pizzeria with his dates may just be the key to get her to see her as a man and not her friend.
When Wren witnesses three of Foster’s painful dates she decides that it is time for her to step up and help her friend out. She will help him get back into the dating world and what better way than to pretend to date him. Let the fun begin!
These two characters are great. Foster’s determination to show Wren that they belong together will melt your heart while Wren is so feisty and totally clueless when it comes to Foster. When you throw in an eccentric group of secondary characters it becomes a great start to a new series that leaves you wanting more of this world.
4 Stars
I loved this book!!!
Foster has been in love with Wren for as long as he can remember, when he finally built up the nerve to tell her she shot him down so he moved away and got married, but he is back now, newly divorced and determined to win her over.
Wren has missed her best friend since he left and can’t believe he is back in town, but she doesn’t know what to do with all these new feelings she has towards him though.
Cannot wait for Drew and Winston’s Book!!!
The queen of rom com did it again! This book had me addicted from page one and I need more! This is the story of Wren and Foster who have been close friends since they were kids. It had always been Wren, her twin brother Winston and their best friend Foster. That was until years ago Foster left and married some woman he barely knew. Now he’s back, divorced and trying to put his life back together. Wren missed him. She wants their friendship to go back to how it was but she can’t deny the new feelings forming. For Foster they are the feelings he’s always had but kept secret. This was a swoon worthy, hilarious friends to lovers, secret crush, child hood friends, brothers best friend romance! I can’t scream loud enough that everyone should read it. I loved every second, I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for more! Were you addicted to her texting series and upset it ended? Don’t worry! This is the start to another series for you!
