When falling in love isn’t part of the contract.Techie Ethan Mattson may have married chef Lily Harper, but he didn’t vow to love her. His only commitment was to hand her half of his business assets and a year later file for divorce while saving a tidy sum on taxes. Little does Ethan know that the pretty woman from his past needs so much more than just a business. She needs protection and love, … business.
She needs protection and love, the two things he believes he’s too broken to offer.
Chef Lily Harper grew up tagging along after her best friend’s brother, Ethan, who saved her from bullies, mud puddles and being an outsider. When Lily flees a nasty ex who won’t take a hint, she comes home to Blueberry Springs, striking a deal with her childhood protector, Ethan. If he marries her, she’ll take his restaurant off his hands, giving him more time to spend on his dream tech business. Not only that, but she’ll finally earn her way into owning a thriving restaurant.
It seems like an ideal agreement…until she begins to fall in love.

Sweet lovely page-turning story!
No one does heartfelt emotion like Jean Oram!
Ethan and Lily make a great match – if only they could see past the accidents and fumbled words and past hurts.
A fabulous story full of family, hope, and love!
A good storyline, but at times the characters almost seem to create more struggles than needed.
11/22/2021 “A Pinch of Commitment” (nook) is a sweet, clean romance. I love stories about marriages of convenience which turn to love. Ethan and Lily are hesitant to admit their feelings for each other. After working through strange “accidents” and the treachery of Lily’s ex, love wins the day. I would actually rate this as 4-1/2 stars to 5 stars.
This is a Blueberry Springs story. It is Ethen and Lily’s story. She had left to become an awesome chef… but has found the field cutthroat and biased. She’s been cheated out of credit for and recipes in a cookbook. Ethan was in a wreck in an avalanche and was jilted by his model fiancé during his recovery. It traxhed his self-esteem. While he is willing to sell Lily the restaurant he does not want, his vendors won’t honor his pricing and so they get married to keep it in family. Then the danger and drama takes over and they both almost die but, hey, it is blueberry springs it will all work out. Updates on other romances included.
A Pinch Of Commitment – Emotional. Rough communication between the two throughout. But all works out in the end.
“A Pinch of Commitment” (Veils and Vows Book 2) by Jean Oram is a great read. I loved Lily and Ethan’s story. This story has twists and turns, romance, humor, family, and more. It’s always fun to visit the interesting and entertaining characters in Blueberry Springs! Highly recommend to all fans of romance.
There’s a full range of emotion in this one––from silly and fun quirky moments, to deeply heart-felt ones, and then the suspense. Through it all you see that this couple loves each other.
They have trust issues and fears caused by previous relationships to work through to find their HEA.
I was super excited to get Ethan’s story. I loved the vibrant characters with their strong personalities and pasts filled with hurt that has led to mistrust. I liked seeing them work through their issues and overcome hurdles and find family.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A really romantic read with some heat. Ethan and Lily start off with a marriage of convenience but sparks fly really soon. Of course there is angst but I loved how it played out. One of my favorites in this series.
A Pinch of Commitment is a wonderful, sweet romance. Ethan and Lily will grab your heartstrings and pull. Hard. They are a dynamite couple who have a firm foundation for their love to blossom, grow, and withstand the storms of life. They deserve an HEA after what they have each endured.
Ethan was introduced in The Surprise Wedding as Devon’s brother. If you loved Devon, you will love Ethan. They share the same core values and when they love, it is with their entire being. If you haven’t read Devon’s story, what are you waiting for? It is an awesome 5 star story.
If you like stories that are well-written, with characters that are everyday people, and a top-notch story, look no further. A Pinch of Commitment is the book for you. Actually, all of Jean’s books are awesome and I recommend reading everything this talented author writes.
I love Ethan and Lily. They agree to a marriage of convenience that will benefit them both. What they don’t realise is that they need much more than that. Lily has loved Ethan since she was 6 years old and her feeling for him have to come out and Ethan really needs someone to love. They are so cute together as they figure out their feelings. Blueberry Springs is a delightful place to fall in love and I look forward to the next book.
