A USA Today Bestseller! An Amazon Best Book of the Month! “Sharon Sala is a consummate storyteller. Growing up in a troubled foster home, Mercy Dane knew she could never rely on anyone but herself. She’s used to giving her all to people who don’t give her a second glance, so when she lands in Blessings, Georgia, she’s flabbergasted when the town opens its arms to her. She never dreamed she’d ever find family or friends—or a man who looks at her as if she hung the stars.
Police Chief Lon Pittman is getting restless living in sleepy little Blessings. But the day Mercy Dane roars into his life on the back of a motorcycle, practically daring him to pull her over, he’s lost. There’s something about Mercy’s tough-yet-vulnerable spirit that calls to Lon, and he will do anything in his power to make her realize that home isn’t just where the heart is—home is where their heart is.

A Piece of My Heart (Blessings, Georgia, #4) was another great read by Sharon Sala. Mercy grew up in a very troubled foster home and it taught her that the only person she can rely on is herself. She finds herself racing to Blessings, Georgia to save the life of a woman who was in a car accident. She never thought her life would change and this small town would open their arms to her the way they do. Lon is the Chief of police and seems to be getting restless in Blessings. Mercy seems to roar into his life on the back of a motorcycle. I really enjoyed reading Mercy and Lon growing closer together. I can’t wait to read more by Sharon Sala.
Sharon sala has outdone herself with her Blessing Georgia series
Excellant!
With each book I read in this series I want more of Blessings Georgia! Each book is a story on its own and they don’t have to be read in any order. I can not wait to start on the next one. I recommend these books to any one who enjoys a great book and series to read!
This is a nicely told and well-written story. It could be classified as a “second chance” story as years after Lon lends a helping hand to Mercy after her apartment has been burglarized, they meet again.
Mercy had a tough childhood in foster care, but she’s a fighter and does not give up. The author found an interesting device – a rare blood type – to bring two characters together. I enjoyed reading this.
I loved it. Mercy found her sister and love.
I won a copy of this book from Goodreads giveaways. I was not required to give a favorable review. All thoughts are my own. This is a beautiful story of family. Maya was raised in the foster system and aged out and had to find her way. She had to become tough and still be a nice person. She was sick of people telling her how and when to do things. So she was a straight shooter. The one things that she did give back is she is a register blood giver because of her rare blood type. She works in a bar and the man who runs it is like her dad to her. One Christmas Eve she goes home after a long shift and is sleeping when the phone goes of they are in need of her blood. Little did she know that, that call was going to change her life forever. She had to drive to Blessing, GA from Savannah on her motorcycle. And when she is almost gets there she had to get around a car accident. She takes her bike through town with a cop on her butt. She ends up meeting up with what she finds out is her sister who needs her blood. And the cop is someone who helped one night when she was in need. She now has a family and a new home. I cried through most of it, but is was a wonderful read. Never judged someone by the cover because you never know what is underneath.
OK, I’ve given the other books in this series 4-star ratings, I’m breaking tradition with this one. I know that puts me in the minority around here. While Blessings remains the same quaint and quirky small town we’ve come to know and love, I just didn’t connect with the characters as well in this one. Oh, they’re engaging enough, just seemed a little too one-dimensional to me. Mercy has grown up in the foster care system and has been completely schooled in the life of hard knocks. She’s never had a break until she gets to Blessings. Lon is the chief of police and pretty much the perfect guy, a little too perfect. Then there are the typical mean girls who try to rule the entire town. At least their husbands rein them in as much as possible. That portion of the story brought me great satisfaction. However, just about everything in this story falls neatly into place almost immediately, it’s too sugary sweet and so predictable that a couple of times I drifted off and didn’t even realize it because I hadn’t missed a thing. A Piece of My Heart was entertaining but certainly didn’t require undivided attention.
I read this book twice and then I bought it…it was amazing…little girls separated.. rare blood types, accidents…lovers reunited and girl with attitude…I loved this book…can’t wait for last one…these are keepers…
I read all 4 of the Blessings books and would recommend them all. I would read them in order.
BTW. I never give 5 stars. I have never found a perfect books. I enjoy Sharon Sala and usually read them more than once.
I loved this book. It’s a standalone, the fourth in a series and I’m looking forward to the next one.
I love it, just wonderful.
I couldn’t quit reading. One of the best books I have read in a long time.
Love all of her books. Keep me reading to the end. Hard to put down!
Sharon’s stories leave you feeling good. I do miss when there isn’t an epilogue. My kindle copy of the book ended at 86% so maybe I just didn’t get one. This being said I won’t give up reading Sharon’s books. She let’s you dream of the best love.
Enjoyable read
Great characters. Twisty plot kept me reading!
Sharon Sala never disappoints! She is my favorite author and there has not been one of her books that I haven’t loved. You can’t go wrong with the “Blessings” series. This is a great read. I couldn’t put it down.
I don’t believe she writes a book that bat is not a interesting .
This is the fourth book for Blessing GA. All of the books are interconnected but also can stand alone. This one shows a side of the foster child care that is probably very notable in all of the states. It also shows the determination of people to better themselves while not using others.
