I ended up buying the whole series!!!
Good cozy mystery. It had all the hallmarks I expect from this kind of cozy. Quirky characters. Food. A likeable main character. If you enjoy cozies, you’ll enjoy this one.
A very cute and short cozy mystery. This is the first in the Bakery Detectives series by Stacey Alabaster. The main characters, Rachael, Pippa, and Detective Jackson Whitaker are all likeable and interesting. This story revolves around Rachael who is trying to help her struggling bakery by having a booth at a local food fair. She’s woefully lacking customers since everyone seems to be much more interested in saving money and eating free samples from the big box bakery, Bakermatic, than they are in having quality, delicious baked goods from Rachael’s small bakery. Adding to her frustration and growing trepidation at the lack of business is one of her least favorite customers who consistently stops at the bakery to tell her that her prices are too high and she would take her business to Bakermatic. Things go from bad to worse when this same customer is found dead … and likely from being poisoned by something she ate at the food fair. The one time she does try something of Rachael’s and she ends up dead! It’s up to Rachael to try to clear her name and find out who the killer is before her business goes under from lack of customers who are now afraid her food might be killing people. A well written little cozy that you can whip through in an afternoon. Definitely a series I would read again.
Very basic cozy mystery. Simple enough that hm my advanced reading preteen friends could read with no trouble. Nice little book
Too Short
This was a fun easy to read short that had a couple of good characters that you will want to follow through a series. A great Sunday afternoon past time with a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. Loved it! And now I want some pie…
I like cozy mysteries, but this one fell short.
What can I say, other than this book was so much fun! I would encourage anyone to read for a lighthearted experience – guaranteed to make you smile.

Enjoyed reading this hilarious book. Fun characters, believable plot, and a little mystery to boot!
I was not impressed with the writing – ??characters
Not one of the better ones I’ve read in quite some time
Enjoy a good who done it type of book. This was hard to predict just who done it. Entertaining characters.
