A phoenix shifter is not your typical shifter and Ashlyn Chase writes them HOT. I found the pace of the story to be perfect. The character development was natural and gave you real characters you cared about. I adored the gals at Karma Cleaners. Mixed in with the action and romance are applicable life lessons without feeling like you’re being lectured. From beginning to end, this book took me on an emotional roller coaster and I loved every minute of it.
Thank you to Ashlyn Chase, NetGalley, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for giving me the chance to read this book and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.
Phoenix is a sweet and engaging story. Although it is number *** in a series, it’s possible to just pick this book up and start from there. Although there are reoccurring characters and they do refer to incidents that I assume happened in previous books, it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the story and it’s easy to follow along and pick up on what they are talking about.
Phoneis is really quite a light read, it has it’s funny moments, but the story is not superficial and deals with the main plot of the story with sensitivity without getting too dark.
Phonix is a sweet romance with a suspense theme running through it. It is light and engaging and it was a truly lovely read. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys a light paranormal romance.
Although in a series, you don’t need to read the others (but there are characters from the previous books)
Luca is a Phoenix shifter, all of his family are, but unlike his brothers (they work for the fire department) Luca is a police officer. And after a bad day at work, he phones his girlfriend for a little sympathy, but he gets more than he bargained for ……
Dawn can’t quite shake her bad girl image, she does t want to go back to gang life, she wants only to help people now. Being a psychic isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, but wanting to help seems now to be her calling.
Luca and Dawn meet at a fountain, he spots her about to faint, catching her before she falls, she tells him that he will be covered in blood soon, and that he needs to be careful.
From there it’s a race against time to find a missing child (it’s a case Luca isn’t working on, but that doesn’t stop him) Luca and Dawn work really well together, and fighting a growing attraction between them.
The interaction between Dawn and her grandmother was fun to read, and between the Phoenix brothers was a laugh a minute.
Will they find the little girl before it’s too late?
You’ll need to read to find out…..
Action packed, sexy, fun and emotional adventure filled with danger, mystery, magic and passion… was a great read from beginning to end an awesome shifter world. This journey had my heart hooked from the very beginning and made it so hard to put down.
Dawn was going down the wrong road until she decided to change her life. She is using her psychic abilities to do good in the world. She meets Luca, a Phoenix shifter and rookie cop, at a water fountain and sees him covered in blood. She warns him to be careful and tells him about her talents and gives him her card. When a mother is killed and her little girl goes missing, they work together to find her. The more they are together, the more they fall for each other. Can they find the little girl before something bad happens to her?
First time reading this author. She’s good but some parts, not many, just wasn’t believable. It was the dialect between them that sounded stilted sometimes. Other than that if you like shifters, suspense, and a big family you’ll enjoy this story.
