When Ms. Pepper Anne Barrington isn’t driving her convertible Aston Martin or writing her bestselling mysteries, she’s busy solving real-life dilemmas happening to her three grown children or the guests visiting her Atlanta bed and breakfast, Edgewater Coventry B & B. It seems to Miss Pepper, there’s always an air of romance, mystery, and perhaps a little adventure and mayhem at the restored … restored 19th century plantation.
When handsome handyman and popular up and coming musician, Bradley Fielding, inherits his grandmother’s Victorian estate in Georgia, he relocates his band from Nashville to Atlanta to oversee the renovations. He decides to stay at the Edgewater Coventry B & B while the Fielding house that has been in his family for generations is being remodeled. All kinds of things begin to go wrong, including the disappearance of his sister and an antique pocket watch.
Patricia Johnston, avid reader and administrative assistant to Miss Pepper, is perhaps the most disturbed of all when she is framed for stealing Brad Fielding’s antique watch. She’s off to the wrong start in her new job—and with one of the country’s most eligible bachelors.
Don’t miss the adventure, romance, and sometimes mystery in “A Persevering Heart,” Book 1 of the new, exciting Christian and inspirational series, ‘Georgia Peaches,’ where each novella ends with a happily ever after in spite of a number of obstacles.

Wonderful start to a new series. Drama, romance, suspense, family issues, inspiration and adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and look forward to the next in the series.
This story is full of mystery, intrigue, and suspense. From a stolen antique pocket watch to stolen heirloom necklaces, to a kidnapping; then, suspects going to England to escape discovery. In the meantime, Brad and Trish fall in love among all this. Great story and a great beginning to a new series.
Once again this Author doesn’t disappoint. Her stories are woven with grace and fantastic characters.
This book is a little different as it includes some mystery along with a budding romance. I was grabbed in from the start and finished the book quickly.
The attention to detail is always on point along with the faith and inspiration these books give you!
I truly enjoyed the story and the outcome!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Patricia( Trisha) Johnston is only a few days into her new job as administrative assistant for Ms. Pepper Barrington of the Edgewater Coventry B& B when there is already a mystery of stolen jewelry afoot. Well written story with fantastic characters and plenty of action to keep you entertained from cover to cover!
I enjoyed reading A Persevering Heart. Trisha and Brad are well-developed and likable characters. The plot is interesting and has twists and turns. I enjoyed how Lisa Prysock wove faith seamlessly into the story. The chase scene was a tad over the top, but fun. It had a James Bond feel to it. There’s a great HEA. I would read more in the Georgia Peaches series and more from this author.
I enjoyed this book and I’m sure the rest of the series will be just as good. A unique romance and all the difficulties they experience makes it a great read!
I don’t read a lot of contemporary romance books, but this book was great. I have read other books by Lisa Prysock and I have enjoyed them. When I saw that she would be writing in this new series, I figured that I would read her book to see if I liked it. Well, I did like it!
This is a great novella. Ms. Prysock is such a good historian when it comes to her books. She writes like she actually lived during the time. This story about Melody, a governor’s daughter, and her captain, is full of history. It’s also an easy to read story. I think anyone who enjoys historical fiction will enjoy this book. I was given a free copy, but the review is my own.
Book 1 in a new contemporary series – Georgia Peaches – and the author did a great kick-off with this book. This is a multi author series with the couple being connected to Georgia and marrying there. This book has a bit of mystery and Lisa magically spins descriptive words to carry us along this wonderful story line to a happy-ever-after. If you love contemporary, christian romance then don’t miss this series.
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t at all what I expected. I couldn’t put it down… Can’t wait for the next one.
Loved this book!!! Trisha and Brad’s story started off rocky, since she was accused of stealing from him. However, Brad didn’t believe it, and other things happened that proved she didn’t. I also really like Reginald, and hope he appears in Lisa’s next story in this series! I figured out “whodunit” when they did, and the chase was fun, especially since Reginald was involved!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
A Persevering Heart checked all the boxes for me: a well-crafted plot infused with romance, humor, faith, and mystery; engaging characters; and a beautifully described setting. This narrative piqued my interest from the beginning and held it to the end. I especially appreciated the spiritual truths sprinkled throughout the story and the scriptures and inspiring quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I enjoyed this easy-to-read book and highly recommend it especially if you are looking for a light, entertaining, inspiring read.
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher but was under no obligation to write a positive review. All opinions are my own
This story is a great start to a new series and can be read as a stand alone story. I found the mystery and romance mixed together was well balanced. The characters were interesting and loved the setting of the Edgewater Coventry B &B; this place reads as absolutely lovely. This is a clean story with beautiful quotes at the beginning of each chapter.
