Jess Edwards has had a rough year or so and when things are finally looking up, she is served with a lawsuit. The lawyer serving her is a her former law school study partner, Leo Martinelli. At one time, they were good friends with the possibility of something more but then Jess dropped out of law school and disappeared. Leo became a successful attorney and when the lawsuit was dropped in his lap, he wanted to see Jess again. He knew he wasn’t good enough for her but what if he could be?
I enjoyed the story very much. The characters were fairly well developed and the story flowed well. This story has a happy ending and is a clean romance without foul language and descriptive sex scenes. I wanted Ryan to get his just rewards but was happy with how the story resolved.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review.
Leo and Jess gets another chance when they meet as adults. Maybe not the best meeting, since Leo served her with a lawsuit. Both are insecure in their own way. Could there be a happily ever after?
I liked the characters – they had a lot of laters that came out. Maybe the pase of the story was a little slow. On the other hand, you had time read every word.
Jess and Leo’s story will take you on a wild ride. They’re both competitive and that throws a few roadblocks into their second chance at love. A cute read with lots of drama and some twists. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
This is Jess and Leo’s second chance if they can learn to get along. A well-written story that held my interest throughout. In a way, this story feels like it needed a little more to it. I received a copy of this book and I am leaving an honest and voluntary review.
Oh, dear heavens! Jess and Leo have enough emotional baggage to sink a steam liner. And it does a pretty good job of nearly wrecking their second chance. I love them as individual characters. Jess is every one of us who have reached for a dream and fought to be seen as good enough. To see ourselves as good enough. Leo is all of us striving for success without knowing what success really looks like. Together, these two make me want to shake them and hug them. Usually at the same time. The epilogue is sweet and wonderful, but I still feel vaguely unfulfilled. I wanted a more definitive outcome with the lawsuit and the underhanded tactics. The way those portions of the story are left, feels unfinished to me. But, there are friends and family with stories to be told, so maybe the perfect ending I’m looking for is waiting for me in the next book.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
