This is a first time author for me. This seems to be the third in the series. I haven’t read the other and I had no problem following along with this one. The story was good and at first we seem to zing right along. I loved the whole looking for Cinderella part. Then something happened. I’m not sure if it was all the puns but the tone of the story seemed to change. It was all fun while he was looking for Cinderella but once he found her and they went out. It was too much. Who wants to hear about other women when you are with a guy? And what he has done with them? No thank you. After that hiccup it seems to straighten back out and take on a romantic tone.
The writing seemed fairly smooth. A few times I needed to go back and reread trying to figure out what the author meant. I did love the bro time that Dunk had with Aden. That was nice and bro talks are always enlightening. The characters had some fun and had depth to them. Overall this is a nice read.
A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee was the perfect mix of sweet and sexy small-town romance that I like to read. This new to me author had me loving this one-night stand wedding hookup from the first chapter.
Daisy and Dunk (love this nickname) are the type of couple you never knew would be perfect for each other. Their bantering had me laughing and has a hint of sexiness to it sometimes.
I can’t wait to see if there will be more books about the other characters in this small town. I will have to check out any other books written by this author.
Oh sweet mylanta, this was such a fun and a perfect introduction to the writing of Zoe Lee. As a new author to me I solely went into this book based on the fun and sweet cover. I tend to be kind of an easy sell on small town romances and the fact that it had a catchy twist of the play on Cinderella just added to the allure for me. I was not one bit disappointed and in fact found the book to be even more of deep romance novel than I had anticipated. Don’t get me wrong, this book was the perfect light and airy read that kept be entertained on an otherwise drab day, but it was steamy to boot. I thought the humor drew in the sex appeal and then the couple seemed to top it off with a steamy bedroom chemistry as well. All a delightful bonus.
Daisy and Dunk are both fun and quirky in their own ways, yet that is what compliments them as a couple as well. I loved the push-pull and that it wasn’t done in a cheesy way. I got the undertone of the Cinderella story but it was done well and not over the top. Overall, these two are quickly easy to fall in love with and will be a sure favorite couple of the year for me. I look forward to seeing what I have missed from Zoe Lee and to whatever may come in the near future!
