“I wouldn’t miss a Kim Harrison book for anything.”—Charlaine HarrisThere’s nothing more darkly satisfying than time spent in the Hollows—New York Times bestseller Kim Harrison’s alternate urban fantasy Cincinnati where vampires, pixies, and werewolves roam free. Harrison takes us back in A Perfect Blood, as former bounty hunter witch-turned-reluctant daywalking demon Rachel Morgan investigates a … demon Rachel Morgan investigates a series of ritual murders, only to discover to her horror that whomever—or whatever—is responsible is actually seeking her blood. Rachel’s sexy, supernatural adventures have consistently landed atop bestseller lists from coast-to-coast, and A Perfect Blood is no exception—another supremely satisfying excursion to a deliciously eerie fantasy realm that’s certain to delight Kim Harrison’s voracious army of fans…not to mention Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, and Stephanie Meyers aficionados, and any reader who craves a walk on the wild, dark side.

Oh, how I love Rachel Morgan… and in extension, Kim Harrison. I just read the 10th Hallows novel (though I think of them as Dead Witch Walking novels) and she does not disappoint. Rachel can’t seem to stay out of, or away from trouble. And trouble (dead and living vamps, crazed cults, disgruntled demons) has a way of finding her. I loved her reticence to embrace her demonhood, her over active libido, her need to save those in trouble–these things make her such a fun and intriguing heroine. * Alice Bello is the author of Min’s Vampire, Better off Dead and The Ferro Mountain Shifters.
These books get better with every one! From book one you are invested in the characters because they are so well crafted. You can see the Hollows because the scene is set masterfully! The story is so well told you become immersed in it and become personally invested in the characters and their wants & desires!
Read book 1 -9 first & then READ THIS BOOK; you will not be sorry you did!
Publisher Blurb:
Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the I.S. and FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth: a human hate group is trying to create its own demons to destroy all Inderlanders, and to do so, it needs her blood.
She’s faced vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, and more, but humanity itself might be her toughest challenge yet.
My Review:
Rachel lives to attempt to Save the World another day! Now she has to Save The Hollows, her friends, Inderlanders on a whole & herself from Humans?
Her blood is the key to Human’s making serious trouble for Inderlanders and Rachel has to protect herself from the Humans & keep it from happening at the same time!
Read the book to see how this plays out!
Someone is leaving the bodies of witches around the city. But these aren’t simple murders. Each one has died halfway through a transformation, their bodies unable to handle being turned into a beast. When Rachel is called to the latest scene, she discovers that a human hate group is to blame. And if a group that is against all magic and the creatures of The Hollows, is starting to twist curses to kill them, they’re in trouble. But Rachel may be in over her head. She’s still wearing her charmed silver and refusing to use her power.
I’m back to continue my Hollows reread, and I can honestly say I remembered nothing from A Perfect Blood! It was great revisiting the characters and diving into the book as if it were my first time reading. There are quite a few key points of realization for Rachel in this one.
Kim Harrison never fails to come up with a new way to introduce her characters to the world of readers. Instead of Rachel, Ivy and Jenks constantly going on the same kind of runs and battling the same kind of adversaries, she jazzes it up every single time. Picking up a book from The Hollows, you won’t know what you’re getting yourself into, but I guarantee it will be fun. Dealing with a human hate group while Rachel is experiencing the aftereffects of the world realizing what she is, and still struggling to define herself, was the perfect set up.
Some readers have issues with Rachel’s attitude in this book. She’s questioning herself a lot more, and she is handicapped due to her charmed silver. But while she isn’t slinging magic at people, she is still fighting for what she believes in. Yes, she is hiding from making a decision, but if you had the moment to be free of something that kept dragging you down, wouldn’t you want a break too? If anything, this book brings readers back into focus and realizing that Rachel isn’t just a powerhouse character. She is realistic in considering her options and attempting to accept the new responsibility that is resting on her shoulders.
A Perfect Blood is still just as action-packed as the previous novels, but it requires Rachel to think more outside of the box. The tension and conflict within these pages keep the pages turning, and readers will be amazed at the turn of events. I love every moment of this series.
Love all in series
I Love this series.

Love this author!! The characters are awesome.
Kim Harrison writes for the reader! Every time I pick up a book, I’m drawn into her worlds!
I burned through the entire series, eating each release up as it hit the shelves.
Kim’s imagination is never better than in her Hollows series where she weaves a world of inderland (supernatural) and humans living together in such a believable way that I had to stop eating tomatoes just in case. If that means nothing to you, go and get the first book and delve into a new whole like no other, Cinncinnatti has never been sexier
Enjoy reading her books, easy read, enjoy Jinks
I love Kim Harrison’s characters! They always keep me involved.
All of Kim Harrison’s books in The Hollows series were great. I started the series in the middle by mistake. After reading the book I did I had to get the first one and complete the whole series.
A good book. Well written. what is the world coming to, Demons , elves, and witches and a world where the demons may be the good guys. I have read all the books, and all the of them are well written, original concepts, and some interesting and mostly innovative plot twists and turns.. The book is good the series is a wonderful read.
I love this author. Her early books in this series are very enjoyable. She seems to have reached a point of running out of steam for the characters, each is going their own way. Not too many potential problems arising, everyone seems happy and content.
Great series. Can’t get enough of it!
