If you’ve stayed away from Christian fiction because the characters are unbelievable and impossibly perfect, I have found the perfect book to bring you back to this wonderful genre. Julie Lessman’s writing is beautiful, her characters are realistic and flawed, and the plot does NOT just check the boxes for a Christian romance. You will NOT regret reading this book.
While I wouldn’t describe this story as a “tear-jerker,” at one point I actually did cry along with the characters.
Real characters facing real challenges that they overcame but the journey was full of twists and trns.
Wonderful read. I have read it three times. Loved it!!!
I wish I could give this book 10 stars. I loved every second of reading this book. Faith resonated with me in so many ways, some I totally understood her sister. I loved the marriage relationship between Patrick and Marcy, which really highlighted that just because you’re married doesn’t mean that you don’t have feelings for each other. I enjoyed Faith’s steadfast insistence that she wait for the right man. I pretty much spent the last 100 to 200 pages ugly crying. This book touched me in so many ways… I think every young, unmarried woman ought to read this just because it’s so encouraging to women that yeah, God has someone out there.
I just love it! It’s one of my favourite books!
One of my all time favorites!
Captivating and real characters, they will have you rooting for their success. I got so swept up in the story; I groaned along with Collin, cried along with Faith and cheered as the story finished. I was sad but also content as I finished this beautiful novel. The story has been woven together so well with great underlying morals. I appreciated the realness Lessman portrayed. She did a good job of displaying real problems, emotions and situations. I felt that there was sometimes a bit too much drama, but it the ending made up for it. Loved the beginning of the book as well, but I felt it went up and down too much during the middle. If you want real characters with real strengths and weaknesses, then this is the book for you! They didn’t feel like characters, they felt like real people that you want to get to know. I loved the passion in this book. It may not be appropriate for young teenagers, but it is amazing to see passion in a clean way. It shows how a marriage can look like when God is in the middle and two people truly love each other. Passion is real and it’s a part of our lives. Loved the way Lessman touched on those topics. This novel was phenomenal, and if you haven’t read it, you don’t know what you’re missing out on.
