“Mrs. Pollifax gives Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple a rival to reckon with.”—Toronto Star“What we are looking for—aside from the stolen Plutonium, Mrs. Pollifax—is evil in its purest form.” Mrs. Pollifax was leading a very full life: Garden Club, karate, yoga—and a little spying now and then. This time the mysterious Mr. Carstairs sent her to Switzerland—to a famous health resort where the world’s … Switzerland—to a famous health resort where the world’s intelligence agents had gathered.
The mission: to track down a missing package of plutonium. Just enough to make a small atom bomb.
It was a job that suited Mrs. Pollifax’s talents. She was good with people—and good at sniffing out their secrets.
But it was not until she became enchanted with Robin, the young jewel thief, that her new adventure really began. . . .

All the Mrs. Pollifax books are a hoot. Mrs. Pollifax seems like a sweet little old lady but in actuality she also works as a spy. Each book takes place in a different setting and have interesting characters. This particular book takes place in Switzerland.
And that’s all I would like to say about the book. The interesting characters are there. The awesome Mrs. Pollifax is there.
I don’t want to spoil the experience for readers. We are all on our own path to find our own Throme of the Errol of Sherrill – so I feel that Mrs. Pollifax should be enjoyed at one’s own option.
I love Dorothy Gillman books! Good stories and make you think. Mrs Pollifax comes out on top because she is a good judge of character.
Mrs. Polifax is so brave and thoughtful. She is truly innovative. And full of common sense.
I have enjoyed all of the Mrs Polifax books. And have read them all
Every bit as good as this author’s other Mrs. Pollifax books.
I love all the early Mrs. Pollifax books. An intelligent, caring, plucky, indomnitable senior citizen who repeatedly demonstrates senior citizens need not be relegated to rocking chairs by rescuing not just herself but others when the small, “routine” CIA matters to which she’s been assigned are, in fact, not at all routine.
Excellent
Been years since I read her books, read them all, love them!
Love all of Dorothy Gillman’s books. A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax is one of my favorites, along with Caravan, which is my all time favorite book.
Love all of the Mrs. Pollifax books. Wish there were more written like them. Very clean and while being dated were interesting.
Loved it!
Wonderful series of books. Think “Grandma Meets James Bond”.
Loved it, a fan of the author.
always a fun read
Fair warning- I give 5 stars to anything that is a good read. It does not mean “great literature.”
Funny read especially if you are a woman of a certain age.
I was entertained
I thought the plot was interesting because it involves and “older” lady coping with unusual situations.
Typical Mrs Polifax Mystery – very fun read!
Love Mrs. Pollifax! She is the old lady we wish we were. Always gets the job done and is such a fun lady.
I want to be Mrs. Pollifax
Love the mrs pollifax series! I’ve got all her books and have reread them multiple times
