What a thrilling read. Each and every character has something interesting about them. Such strange and twisted things go on in this book and I just could not get enough. This brings the SyFi and Paranormal together in a very diabolical way. A very modern version of a 50s SyFi show that has been given a very sexy paranormal twist.

The start of something new
What an amazing beginning to a new series! The author has managed to find yet another story line to draw me in and keep me reading her books. This book has everything she is known for and leads us on a merry chase until these two find their HEA. Hopefully they will manage to keep it. I can’t wait to read the next book and see how the story continues to unfold.
Great characters and story. Cant wait to read the next book.
Different that what I normally read but interesting enough to keep me rivitated to the characters and their outcome.
Am loving this new series! After being discharged from the military because of injuries sustained, Luke falls into a pit of despair. When a mysterious doctor offers to make him whole again, he takes him up on the offer. Little does he knows that he will no longer be human.
Nurse Margaret is offered a great opportunity at a remote medical facility. Great pay, easy work, what could go wrong? Sparks fly the first time Margaret and Luke meet, but they try to ignore them. Too bad the evil doctor is too aware.
This book features a strong heroine, a damaged hero, but manages to stay away from the stereotypical formula. I found myself truly wondering what was going to happen next – instead of seeing the ending a mile away.
Eve Langlais is always a one-click, automatic buy of everything she writes. This new series is proving to be no different – can’t wait until the next one!
Different from what I normally read but interesting
The blurb caught me right away, and I’m pleased to say that the book lived up to it. A nurse goes to work for a secret medical facility and learns they’re conducting genetic experiments on the patients. Of course, she gets close to one special patient. I really enjoyed the details in this story; it made it feel very real. Nice build-up of tension. A fast, easy, entertaining read. Highly recommend.
So bad
A good series starter
The cover and the book title reminded me of a grade B movie so I was pleasantly surprised to find a pretty good plot and a storyline that showed imagination. Crazy scientists perverting nature and mankind. I always like those books and it leaves the door open for all sorts of scenarios later in the series. I don’t like cliffhangers but this one wasn’t too bad because it didn’t interfere with the storyline.
There are many books that mention secret labs experimenting on or creating supernaturals. This is one of the few that goes into the heart of one of those labs. I have not figured out how the author managed to infuse a horrific and horrifying morally twisted situation with cheezy antics worth of Robert Asprin’s Phule’s Company or zany romance worthy of Roger and Jessica Rabbit, but it worked!
Very fast paced and easy to read. It was not what I was expecting from the cover art, but it was a scary, tragic trip into unethical research practices. I guess they left it open for a sequel, but the HEA ending was destroyed at the very end. That being said, still a very thought provoking, entertaining read.
IT WAS VERY DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I AM USE TO READING, THE AUTHOR TOLD A GREAT STORY THAT WAS VERY REALISTIC, THE BOOK WAS FAST PACED AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT,
I loved the twist to the story at the end.
So fun!!
A bunch of things happen in this book. Nothing is really resolved. Lots of strangeness. There is a romance but I don’t see how it worked out with how she felt. It ends with a cliffhanger. Not going to continue this series. Just not my thing.
A first in series. Spent a LOT of time on background building and left the reader to read the next books
Did not like, to predictable and characters were not engaging.
Great original story with a romantic couple and tons of surprises!
I really enjoyed it
