Courtney:I can’t take another year of babysitting nieces and nephews while everyone else celebrates the holidays together when I want my own family so badly. Watching my bad boy baby brother propose to his girlfriend at our family Christmas dinner is the final straw. I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but this is the last holiday season I do alone. My first resolution for the new year? Find a … new year? Find a husband!
Blake:
Spending holidays with my family and seeing everyone else married and having kids is killing me.
It’s not fair, I’ve been looking for something real of my own too. I want a family, a good woman to give my mom and dad some more grandkids to spoil. Someone I can share my life with and grow old with and spoil grandkids of our own with someday.
I’m making my first new year resolution right now– I’m getting married.
When Blake and Courtney both find themselves suffering through another year of family holidays alone while they watch their married relatives living happily ever after around them, they each resolve to be married by the end of the new year.
Once their search for the right person leads them to modern match-maker, Raven Swann, it’s only a matter of time till they meet each other but will they manage to fulfill their new year’s resolutions before the calendar runs out?

I absolutely loved this book by Rocklyn and yes she’s back with another one of her Modern Match Maker Series and Mrs Raven Swann. I absolutely love this series. This is about Blake and Courtney who haven’t had any luck in finding the “one” and they see their friends who have their other half and the family and have decided they want what their friend’s have. This was such a good book and hard to put down.
I would definitely recommend one clicking this lil jewel it’s so worth it.
Totally Wonderful Resolutions made and kept!!!
So I have to confess that I fell in love with Blake and Courtney right from the start. The descriptions of each, their feelings and longing for someone special to build a future were really great. The family and friends that surround them are a hoot and so well written. The family get-togethers were like every large family gathering that I have been too……….the men off doing stupid stuff that may or may not get them injured or killed and the women getting the food together, talking and watching the kids.
Both Courtney and Blake make the decision at their respective family Christmas celebrations that in the new year they will find their “other”. They are both ready for the next step in their lives and also to start a family. So Raven Swann to the rescue again in this novel.
As with all of the other books in the Modern Match-Maker series this one I would tell everyone to read. You won’t be disappointed.
I was given an ARC of this book to read for my honest review. The opinions all all my own.
Absolutely loved this story! Blake and Courtney are tired of seeing everyone around them get thier happily ever afters and they want theirs too. Even if they need the help of an expert in arranged marriages. Love this series and hope it never ends!!
The matchmaker is back at her skilled job. This is the story of Blake and Courtney. Blake is returning from military service and he wants a wife and family to settle down with. Courtney wants to find a husband and start the next chapter of her life. This story has all the hallmarks of a Matchmaker story: meet cute, interesting family and friends, insta love connection and a HEA.
While this was a good story, I wanted the instant connection to happen sooner (that might be because I am inpatient and I want that love as soon as possible). This was an enjoyable read and a great addition to this series of standalone reads. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.
Rocklyn Ryder does it again, with another fun read about Ravin Swann, match maker story. I love these stories. After seeing younger relatives getting married and starting families, both Blake and Courtney want to find their “one”, but the usually ways, dating apps, fix ups …etc., are not working. So they both turn to Ravin Swann. Both come from big families, but have a hard time getting a team together, because the people that know them best, don’t think it is a good idea. But they do finally come around, pick the best candidate, but at the last minute, one of the team members has doubts, so they have to start fresh. Meanwhile both Blake and Courtney are getting very impatient. But, Ravin and her assistant Jessica, don’t give up and finally come up with the perfect candidates and they get their HEA. If only this was real life.
I received a free advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Raven Swann and Rocklyn Ryder have done it again. Blake and Courtney come from big, loving, happy families with great partners for their siblings and great parents….they want that for themselves. They hire Raven Swann to help them find their own Prince or Princess Charming. I love the flow of the book, the little surprises, and who would have thought Courtney’s grade school nurse would be the key to this match!! I would have liked to see Blake and Courtney’s relationship grow more outside of the bedroom, but overall, a great read!!
I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book
The Modern Match-Maker series is made up of stories that have a fun mix of good times, laughs, and romance. Courtney and Blake’s story is no different. I loved the whole set of characters. Courtney and Blake are perfect for each other. I love that they are real with moments of awkwardness. They are relatable and people I’d like to hang out with in real life. The surprising character was Norma. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’m really glad she was part of Courtney’s team.
This was a little bit of a shorter read taking just a few hours to complete. There was enough story though that it didn’t feel rushed to me. However, I do wish there had been an epilogue. I would have loved a glimpse at Courtney and Blake’s future. I would definitely recommend reading this one, as well as the whole series. Each can be read as a standalone.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Another great book in the modern match-maker romance series. These are always quick reads but boy do I enjoy them. Raven has done an amazing job again in putting Courtney and Blake into possible potentials for each other for their family/friends to pick them out. I absolutely loved how Blake reacted when they met and Courtney smiled at him. This is a great story and even though it’s short & a quick read the story doesn’t feel slighted at all. I would love another epilogue for them that’s a little further in the future. I love all Rocklyn’s books.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and it did not impact my true review. I loved it so much I’ll be buying it.
Raven Swan’s questionnaire completed … check
Team picked and ready … check
Hearing the PING! notifying you there is a match … Priceless!
The teams have been hard at work for both Blake and Courtney. Meeting this person for the first time is unnerving enough. First impressions can be mistaken, what makes it worse is if your face shows what your impression is. Thank goodness for humor to fix the mistake.
Now that the team members who chaperoned the first date have all left, it is just Courtney and Blake. There is no loss for time. Courtney is acting on emotion and feeling, which is new to her and it feels right. Blake is attracted to her right away, but her actions are really cementing his knowing she is the right one.
Things between the two progress quickly and they have no doubts they are getting married, and by the end of the year. The more they learn about one another, the deeper their love goes. There is just one thing that hasn’t happened. It causes doubt and a little bit of unsureness. There is a remedy for this, and it is a very romantic way for this very important moment. When this finally is presented, there is no doubts left at all. These two are bound for forever.
Raven Swan has yet another match that will last forever to post on her site.
The story of this match is just as romantic, fun, page turning, and enjoyable to read as all of Raven’s success stories.
The clock was ticking for Blake and Courtney. Time to find their other half and get married but without a prospect at hand they looked for the miracle woman, Raven Swann, to make fulfill their need. A hilarious, heart-warming and passionate story. Enjoyed how the protagonists were keeping their minds open to their relations trying to make it work. An entertaining story with a matchmaking that made my mind wonder. Good secondary characters that added to the emotions and feelings of the protagonists, lovely family time with scenes that felt real and compelling.
I always love this author’s stories. Her characters are always someone with whom I can relate, not the dissolute billionaire cynic or the destitute student waitress at the local greasy spoon. Both H and h are at the time in their lives where all their family members are partnered and with kids and they are feeling left behind. This gives them incentive to pursue a more direct matching service than the online apps. In this story, you get a bit more background as to Raven’s method of matching the applicants. Loved the chemistry between the H and h. A fun escape read.
I have read several books in the Modern Day Match-Maker Romance series and this is the best one yet. I loved Courtney and Blake’s story. This couple really seemed to be perfect for each other, they both had the same values and goals not to mention the steam between them. I enjoyed the build-up to their meeting and their reaction after the first dinner. I am impressed with the author’s writing style and depth of the characters. This is a quick book to read full of love with some humor. Looking forward to the next one.
This story was so worth the wait!
Every time Ms. Ryder releases a new story in the Modern Matchmaker series, well it just gets better and better.
One of the things I loved about this story is the humor, you get the laughs right along with the swoons.
This story of Blake and Courtney is fantastic. It doesn’t feel rushed and I like the fact that when Blake and Courtney first meet, it wasn’t lust or even love at first sight, it took a bit before the both saw past the outer shells they had built around themselves.
I enjoyed the big families and the togetherness that being with family brings. I could feel the loneliness that both Blake and Courtney had before finding the help of Raven Swann.
I was so excited to see that Ms. Ryder had another book out here in the world! This story can totally be read as a stand alone and you will enjoy it as such.
Thank you for your stories Rocklyn, I cannot wait to see what you come out with next!
Raven Swann strikes again with another great match for her make making business. Love how the arrangement between Blake and Courtney came about.
Country boy meets city girl, Loved Blake and Courtney
Courtney and Blake both come from big living families. Christmas brings surprise for both. Courtney ‘s brother announces he is marrying his girlfriend, who has two kids, giving him and instant family. Blake’s younger cousin announced he is going to ask his girlfriend of 5 years to marry him.
Courtney and Blake both vow to be married by the end of next year.
They both turn to Raven Swann. Blake gets help from his brother in law and two of his cousins. Courtney gets her mother and her best friend her mother but just doesn’t have a third, allows her mother to pick someone to help.
Blake and Courtney are impatient, the process is long and their deadline is getting closer and closer. The first matches for both of them fall through, causing a lot of anxiety for them both, and thoughts of getting second best, even with reassurances from Raven. Then the get the news they have been matched.
Courtney and Blake meet, and know their is nothing second best in Raven and their families picks, only perfect.
Sweet and steamy romance. Loved Blake and Courtney’s families. Norma, I think Raven needs to add Norma to her team.
I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book. Rocklyn Ryder’s books are an automatic buy for me. I know I will get a great story that I will read again and again.
This was an entertaining read. Raven Swann is at it again with her matchmaking. What happens when your hand-picked team doesn’t all agree on a perfect match for you? The clock is ticking for Blake and Courtney. Will they be matched in time to meet their goals? Will they be matched with someone that is totally wrong for them?
This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy. You do not need to read this series from the beginning – they are standalones. This is one of the better books in the series but it’s missing a little oomph.

Blake has decided that he wants to get married and settled by next year so enlists the service of Raven Swann famous for her arranged marriage services.
Courtney is also desperate to settle down so convinces her mum & eventually her best friend to help with choosing her husband with the same services. However she needs a 3rd person and at first isn’t entirely happy when she tells Raven the choice isn’t right. Can they both find their perfect match?
Another wonderful addition to the series. Each book is a standalone and all individual characters with their own personalities. This is one of my favourites.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
A great addition to the Raven Swann matchmaker series!
This is a great read and I highly recommend it! Both Blake and Courtney have come to the realization that they don’t want to spend another holiday season alone while the rest of their family seems to be in love and enjoying life. So they each decide to use Raven’s matchmaking service, much to their family and friends chagrin. While Blake and Courtney have committed to the process, convincing the people they love to be on a team to help pick their respective husband or wife is not easy. Find out how these two get together by reading this wonderful book today!
The city girl wants to marry and she found Raven Swann. It’s another match but it didn’t come easy. I really liked how Blake really wanted a marriage but took his time. Here’s to new resolutions
