I really like this book Siri‘s. At least the books I’ve read open till now. When I first started reading this book I thought it was great they acted like normal people that they were happy to be getting married… Everything went according to plan. Before I get to my next statement let me say my biggest pet peeve about historical writers is most of them don’t know their history. For one thing on Amelia‘s First day teaching school in a farming community the head counselor lady tells her if anyone is late don’t let them come in till lunchtime. OK for one thing most kids here to help their parents in the feels, some didn’t even attend school at all. Then after school Amelia talks to Sam who is late to school that morning and says would you like me to talk to your dad so he can excuse you from chores? No one got excused from chores a farmer is a former 365 days of the year there is always something to be done. Oh yes and let me just mention how in the book she has the mothers waiting for the children to come out of school., Most mothers we’re too busy to stop what they were doing to go walk to school so they could walk back with the children when the kids could walk Home by there selves. This book is set an 1875 two years before the first famous kidnapping a little Charlie ever happened. There was no reason for mothers to go get the children they weren’t coddled the way People do these days. Also one more thing when Amelia is looking for Sims home she goes and talks to Jessica‘s mother a student of hers and the Classmate of Sam’s. She asked Jessica‘s mom Liza if she knew where Sam and his dad lived and She said yes, let me give you their address. OK let me just say people didn’t have addresses in 1875 especially out West especially in a little town called broken spur… They didn’t even have postman that brought mail from house to house until the late 1890s almost 20 years after this book is supposed to take place. I’m going to stop I could go on and let me just say I know this doesn’t bother everyone and most times I just let it go by. There was just so much stuff in here and the whole book was based on this by being abuse in her trying to help him went back in the day most people just mind their business. I’m not saying it was right Morally I’m just saying it was right historically. I apologize for the errors in this review, but I am blind and bookclub makes it like a lot of people do where if you use screen reader you can’t really edit your review. I’m not saying that’s bad on Brooke Bob’s part they really do good when it comes to accessibility for blind people. A lot of people it’s impossible to use or fix errors in a review or email.
