From the first book to the end was a page turner for me. I loved meeting the Brody’s and how they built up the hotel. With each person coming onto the scene you wonder what there story is AND look forward to reading to find out who they are going to wind up with. Loved the series! It was so much fun to read.
I purchased this book because the premise intrigued me having personally purchased a historic B&B and performed extensive renovations. I was skeptical as to how realistic the story would be because of others I’ve read that breeze through construction issues with few problems. The author did a nice job of balancing Adam’s idealism in the face of the constant difficulties that arose during the project without weighing down the story. Some of the projects took “record time,” but a little “literary license” is to be expected as this is fiction not a DIY primer. I liked Adam and Elizabeth a lot. He’s charming and sweet without being sissyish, and she puts her family above all else, but works hard when she’s on the job. Aunt Caroline is the voice of reason for Adam without being overbearing. It was interesting to read about renovation during the time before power tools and technology. Adam and Elizabeth both have past hurts they have to resolve, and sometimes they can’t seem to get out of their own way making for interesting situations.
I love this whole series! This book is a great first start.
A reader recommended this book to me because the series also takes place in a new hotel out West. I loved this book! It’s exciting, humorous at times, romantic, and an absolute joy to read. The characters are truly what make this book so good. Each one is memorable. Highly recommend!
