Wedding bells are ringing—and a widowed mother of two hopes the occasion will reunite her daughters in this captivating novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Island House and Secrets in Summer.“A delightful beach-town tale about family relationships and second chances.”—Kirkus Reviews A few years after losing her beloved husband, Alison is doing something she never thought she … beloved husband, Alison is doing something she never thought she would do again: getting married. It is definitely a beach book. Pleasant but a little too predictable.
Nantucket is now on my bucket list! Not sure what I look forward to more Nancy Thayer characters or her description on Nantucket .
This is a fun read about two families that meet and will become one family. Good story.
Tired writing.
Great easy-read, real life stuff. I loved it!!
I haven’t read a book by Nancy Thayer that I didn’t like. She’s awesome.
A great book to read on the beach!!
Good quick read. I love Nantucket so I enjoy stories about the island. This story is about grandparents getting married and blending their families. It’s not always easy. His family is wealthy and hers is middle class. Interesting little twists regarding their children and spouses. All in all a beach read I enjoyed.
I loved the surprises along the way.
Always enjoy the family dramas that wind up okay in the end.
Enjoyed reading how the characters blended grown children and grandchildren
A Nantucket wedding by Nancy Thayer
Other works by the author are highlighted at the beginning. Note from the author also about the area.
Allsion is getting remarried now that her spouse has been dead for a lot of years. She’s found a new man Ethan and he has kids.
She does also and she wants to bring them all together before the big wedding event.
Love nearby excusions as we just visited the whaling museum a week ago.
So many emotions as you learn about each group of people, all different circumstances and problems. quite interesting how things are solved.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
My brother went through this same situation and it was interesting on the kids thoughts of; if mom should be happy again or dad be happy again. We found out what everyone was thinking and feeling. Hope my brothers works out too.
Allison, a widower in her fifties had found love again and was planning a wedding with David at Nantucket. Both had wonderful first marriages that ended by death and they were so happy that they had both found love again. Things got interesting when they invited their adult children to meet each other. The descriptions are so vivid of the area that you feel like you are there. Lots of drama and more drama. Well written with interesting characters and an entertaining story. I read a reader copy via Net Gallery and voluntarily chose to write a review.
This was an entertaining summer beach read! Each character was brought to life in the story, as well as the settings – I felt like I was on Nantucket for the wedding. I enjoyed the family dynamics, which only added to the story. A pleasant story to listen to on your next cross-country drive!
A predictable beach read. Nice family relationships and good descriptions of Nantucket and hangouts of the very rich. The dialogue was a little too formal for me – ie – the mother kept calling the daughter “darling” – didn’t seem realistic. But overall, good story with expected HEA – good for beach reading.
A light, sweet story and the perfect beach read. Perfect for a weekend away or at home. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Everything this author creates is wonderful. And this book has the added plus of being in Nantucket. Love the author and Nantucket.
I liked all the characters in the book. Loved the interactions, so real life. Was impressed by the way each of the women handled conflict in their marriages and in their other relationships. They really thought things through and made the choices that were right for them and for the other person.
Great Read
