Wedding bells are ringing—and a widowed mother of two hopes the occasion will reunite her daughters in this captivating novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Island House and Secrets in Summer.“A delightful beach-town tale about family relationships and second chances.”—Kirkus Reviews A few years after losing her beloved husband, Alison is doing something she never thought she … beloved husband, Alison is doing something she never thought she would do again: getting married. While placing the finishing touches on her summer nuptials, Alison is anxious to introduce her fiancé, David, to her grown daughters: Felicity, a worried married mother of two, and Jane, also married but focused on her career. The sisters have a somewhat distant relationship and Alison hopes that the wedding and the weeks leading up to the ceremony will give the siblings a chance to reconnect, as well as meet and get to know David’s grown children.
As the summer progresses, it is anything but smooth sailing. Felicity stumbles upon a terrible secret that could shatter her carefully cultivated world. Jane finds herself under the spell of her soon-to-be stepbrother, Ethan, who is as charming as he is mysterious. And even Alison is surprised (and slightly alarmed) by her new blended family. Revelations, intrigue, resentments—as the Big Day approaches, will the promise of bliss be a bust?
Against the gorgeous backdrop of the sunswept island of Nantucket, Nancy Thayer sets the stage for a walk down the aisle no one will ever forget.

Great story threaded through beautiful Nantucket
Always read the authors books.
Not so much. Drawn out and boring in places
I loved this book from the first page. I could not put it down. It also has delicious food throughout the book. There is some suspense too. Loved all the characters.
Thayer’s characters are always well developed and usually like regular people. The matriarch in this story is a little too good to be true and Ethan has few redeeming qualities. Marriages not always perfect but nice to read about them rather than have the entire story built up to a happy marital ending. Love the beach descriptions. Always makes me want to have a long beach stay in such a gorgeous place.
Alison never thought she’d fall in love again, but she did five years after her husband’s passing. While planning her wedding to David in Nantucket she is trying to bring two (2) families together, adult children and grandchildren.
There is so much heart, love, trials and tribulations during the telling of this story. I had a hard time putting it down to go to sleep, but I did and picked it right back up in the morning. A Nantucket Wedding is a great read. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from NetGallery and volunteered to write a review.

Ruthie –
4.5 stars of shimmering lives and loves
This is a really easy book to read – in fact, at 2am this morning, I had to force myself to stop reading! But I finished it as soon as I woke up. Lovely, rambling, big family story, with lots of interesting couples and non-couples. Ms. Thayer uses a brilliant device to draw in all the soon-to-be-family and give us a peek into their world one summer. The highs, the lows, the dreams, and the reality. It is messy, beautiful, poignant, passionate, and intense. But most of all, it is about love in all its forms and how it starts with loving oneself.
David and Alison are the calm, rational, and clearly in love couple whose wedding plans bring their families together. Their unwavering, learned-over-time approach to life is such a perfect foil for the drama of the next generation. Alison segues into her new role in life with grace, determination, and plan for great family weekends with lots of food and laughter. David is straightforward, caring, and generous. I loved them!
Lots of lovely vignettes of modern life and the way we wrap ourselves in habits and rules, and how something as simple as the ocean can clear the mind and bring back some magic. I will definitely be looking out for more of Ms. Thayer’s stories to bring a smile to my face in the future.
