Great, multi-faceted characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. I felt every emotion. Just steamy enough. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. Simply a GREAT read!

When James dies in a mysterious accident, his best friend, the Earl of Strickland Adam Avery, is devastated. Adam knows there is something wrong and suspects James’s death was not just an accident, but he cannot prove it. James’s sister, Magnolia, has been in solitude since she lost parents and brother in an accident two years ago. She decides to break her silence. She stumbles upon Adam, and they set out on a dangerous quest for the truth. Love stars growing between tem, but Adam steps on boundaries Magnolia is not willing to accept. He is determined to protect her against everything. As the investigation continues, the couple finds out that what they have been looking for may be hiding in plain sight. Magnolia needs independence, and that may make her regret choices she makes. – This is an unusual romance. The couple gets together, and the book continues. I appreciate reading books like this. Adam and Magnolia were obviously very much in love, but they were young, immature and stubborn. Therefore, they had a difficult time adjusting to marriage. The mystery was interesting. There was a link at the end for a bonus epilogue, but it was no longer available. That is frustrating.
This story has mystery, twists and turns. It grabbed my attention throughout the story. Its a page turner and well written. Its has a good storyline. The characters are wonderful and enjoyable It to read about. I enjoyed Magnolia and Adam story.
My attention was grabbed from the very beginning with the great character and storyline development that kept me turning the pages until the very end!
(Actually 3-1/2 Stars.) Another wonderful book from Lucinda Nelson. Good but often frustrating characters, and a great storyline. However I can’t help but think I’ve read this particular storyline before, especially the last part. Approximately the last fourth of the book still needs some editing, which caused the loss of 1/2 star. The dialogue is stilted, partly because of how they talked back then, but it was still irritating. All-in-all it’s an enjoyable read.
On a personal note, I’m sad that the author has opted to join others in the practice of manipulating readers into giving their email address to read the entire story. It’s not right. I did not read the extended epilogue.
WOW… this had me on pins and needles. The suspense was intense. The danger very real. The killer is as slippery as an eel and is the evilest villain I have read. The h’s character was kind and loving but stubborn. There was no compromise. It was her way or the highway. This clashed with the H’s character as he was a little more objective but still a touch stubborn himself. Trying to find the murderer of the h’s parents and brother was emotionally exhausting. There were twists and turns in the story that came out of nowhere and added to the intensity of the story. The hunt for the killer was more pronounced than the romance between the h and the H. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. They fit right into the story quite well. A worthy read.
Very well written and grabs your attention right away. He was her brother’s best friend. His best friend dies under mysterious circumstances. She goes into seclusion away from the public. As her parents were killed too. When she decides to come out for fresh air they both work on their differences and feelings. Not to mention the one responsible for the killings. I received a review and voluntarily review it.
