Interesting Florida history
I just loved it. It really a page turner. I read all night. Couldn’t sleep, had to finish the book!
Tom Lowe has written a masterful mystery. The descriptions of scenery is amazing, but does not detract from the plot. The hero is Sean O’Brien who is a retired police detective living in Florida on his sailboat. The excellent plot draws on some of Florida’s history with Osceola and the Everglades. Recommend this excellent book highly.
Unlikely fantasy. Hero is “perfect;” villains are baaad, but don’t stand a chance against Super Detective, who of course gets the girl.
A Murder of Crows
Really enjoyed the interaction between characters, environment and Seminole history. Good new series for me
Great story with edge of your seat action. Inclusion of Native American elements was respectful and not exploitive or stereotyped. Great characters. I really enjoyed this and could not put it down.
Some good insights into what Native Americans face with casinos, greed, interference and outside influences.
I enjoyed the read & would recommend to others. I have read other books by this author & have enjoyed them as well.
A great detective story, set in Florida’s everglades and an indian reservation.
This series is one of my favorites. It is straight up good guy vs. bad guy with an honorable protagonist and his good friends. Not everyone is exactly what they seem, but no hidden evil. The locales are well presented and the action is good but not heart pounding and I really like how a problem is presented and solved in one book with no cliff hangers. Well written and entertaining to read.
Excellent
Florida wildlife and boats!
totally enjoyed this book…..kept me on edge through out.
unrealistic
It read like it was really happening. Toward the last 100 pages, it started to lose its momentum, but picked up again near the end.
Great writer
Was a good read. Was very busy so took couple weeks but was able to pick right up were I left offf
I liked it a lot, but the language was disconcerting for me.
I have enjoyed these series of books! Am looking forward to reading more of them.
It started out fairly slow, but I stuck with it. There were some editorial errors which I just overlooked as I got further into the story. I have always been interested in Native American culture. This one takes place in a part of Florida I always dreamed of visiting. Having a relative by marriage who came from Seminole ancestors, I found that part really informative. I do believe that Natives communicated with God and Nature in a way we as Americans cannot do. Some are gifted and can enter another realm, that is a leaving a person open to evil spirits also. They seem to know the difference and most made the right choice, some did not. This death at a Seminole burial ground in remote Everglades leads to those in touch with nature & spirits, drug lords, the lure of money and more murder along with attempted murder. I liked the characters and felt in touch with them. Tom Lowe deserves good marks for creating an interesting and mysterious murder twister.
