One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Page turner!
Did not want to put it down.. Great read
An excessive amount of metaphors.
Tom Lowe captures the essence of the Everglades and the interaction and conflicts of interest in South Florida. With an understanding of the natural world of the River of Grass, he highlights the struggles of its native inhabitants, both ecological and cultural, with the interests of those with a focus on making money.
Sean O’Brien, a retired homicide detective from Miami, becomes entangled with proving the innocence of Joe, a member of the Osceola tribe, who has been convicted of a heinous murder of a cultural anthropologist. With the help of Wynona Osceola, a former federal agent, but now a member of reservation police, they search to uncover the reason behind the murder. With an evenly paced narrative, the action speeds up and slows to reflect the true nature of the investigation.
Tom Lowe’s fact and fiction is so interwoven that one can escape into the world of fiction without sacrificing the world of reality.
Oh gosh, I loved this book. It was hard to put down!! Definitely a page turner!
