This book is amazing and such a touching story! Had to get out my tissues before I was finished. This author has a way with words and I definitely want to read more of her books.
So sad, but so well written, I loved the book.
This book is not a great book. I learned a lot about adoption and all is not well with the world of adoption. It is very frightening to think about how things can happen during adoption and people can really get hurt.
Enjoyed reading about a relationship between two women from very different backgrounds who end up really helping each other.
so could happen
I loved all the different characters and 5he twists and turns of the plot.
This was the best book I’ve read in a long time. The characters gripped me from the very beginning. Though it certainly was a tear jerker at the end, it was so realistic and kept me glued to the story. I couldn’t put it down!
A MOTHER’S GOODBYE by Kate Hewitt is a beautifully-written, emotional story of family, loss and the power of a mother’s love. The story is told from the points of view of two women on opposite sides of the adoption process. It portrays the agonizing and heart-wrenching decision made by the birth mother, Heather, who feels she must give up her child for the sake of the rest of her family. Her baby is adopted by Grace, a single professional woman, who is desperately trying to fill the lonely void left by the death of her beloved father. The intense emotions and feelings of both women are exquisitely described. I felt like they were people I knew personally. Even the secondary characters felt very real and relatable. When a tragedy strikes suddenly, Heather and Grace bond together in an unexpected and profound way. I was totally drawn into this touching and compelling book and I found myself moved to tears more than a few times. Told with raw honesty and heartfelt empathy, A MOTHER’S GOODBYE is an amazing book that I know will stay with me for a very long time.
