Abigail Stuart Thought She was Jeremiah Calhoun’s Widow. But Jeremiah Calhoun Is Very Handsome, Very Alive, and Very Perplexed. Most Inconvenient Indeed.
With few options of her own, nurse Abigail Stuart agrees to marry her patient, a gravely wounded soldier calling himself Jeremiah Calhoun. They arrange a quick ceremony before he dies, giving Abigail the rights to his Ozark farm and giving … rights to his Ozark farm and giving Jeremiah the peace of knowing someone will care for his ailing sister after he’s gone–a practical solution for both of them.
After the war, Abigail fulfills her side of the bargain–until the real Jeremiah Calhoun shows up, injured but definitely alive, and wastes no time in challenging Abigail’s story. Abigail is flummoxed. After months of claiming to be his widow, how can she explain that she’s never seen this Jeremiah Calhoun before? How can she convince him that she isn’t trying to steal his farm? And will she find a way to stay, even though this practical arrangement has turned into a most inconvenient marriage?

I call this ‘a most inconvenient book’ because it kept me up way too late! So be warned, once you pick this one up, don’t plan on doing much else (or going to bed at a decent hour). This was wonderful, really enjoyed everything about it. Wonderful characters, funny and heart stirring romance makes this one a 5 star.

REVIEW:
I can never get enough of Regina’s books. This one is my favorite by this amazing author. Regina Jennings has a phenomenal way of capturing history. Her books will capture your heart! I read this book for the first time a few months ago. It holds a very special place in my heart. This …
This book was hilarious and wonderful. The amount of embarrassing moments to Abigail and Jeremiah were delightful as ironic as that sounds. Both of the characters were fun. I immediately loved Abigail, Jeremiah took a bit for me to enjoy, but by the end I really liked him as well. The storyline was fantastic, I will definitely be rereading this …
She was in a fix but did not intend to deceive, but it came out better than she thought it would.
It was a nice, enjoyable read. Fun characters and an interesting storyline.
Good ending and well written
Great book.
A fun, but frustrating read.
I loved the premise of the book, because I love ‘marriage of convenience’ stories, but this one just didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
I guess I thought they’d actually be married and act as a couple, but they kept skirting around their feelings for AGES! Look, I know that feelings are hard to decipher, but I …
Abigail married Jeremiah Calhoun on his death bed as a favor to him and to provide a home for herself. When she arrives at the dead man’s horse ranch, she meets his mother, who is grieving the loss of her son, and his disgruntled and ill sister. His mother is very grateful for Abigail’s help on the ranch and Abigail soon feels at home. Until the …
After their brutal and chaotic experiences in the Civil war, Missouri (like most of the country) is balanced on a knife edge. Just loved it! What a fun read!
Very good read
It was a fun read. Enjoyed it immensely.
Great book!
Interesting plot and likable characters are the features of this book that I enjoyed.
The man she married wasn’t who he said he was, and then it gets even more confusing.
I really enjoyed this book.
Original storyline, not just the same old thing. Had me laughing outloud through several scenes. Good ending where love conquers all! Great read, I will definitely read more books by this author.
The story was a bit slow moving. The main character was a brave, hardworking, woman. There was a lot to admire in her character. The main man character was confused and a bit of a wimp. They finally found each other which was the highlight.
Nice light read.
