A Paranormal Women’s Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!Midlife’s a bumpy journey. The ride is a freaking rollercoaster. The crisis is real. With my life back to normal—normal being a very relative word—one would think I’d catch a break. One would be very wrong. With an Angel gunning for me and a Demon in my bed, life couldn’t be more …
With an Angel gunning for me and a Demon in my bed, life couldn’t be more complicated. Not to mention, I’m going to have to make a rather large life choice.
Do I want to live forever?
Does anyone? Forever is a very long time.
Whatever. I’ll think about it tomorrow… or next week… or next month. As long as I have my girlfriends, my dogs, a super-sized case of merlot and my deceased squatters, I’m good to go.
My midlife crisis. My rules. If it doesn’t kill me dead first, I plan to have a most excellent midlife crisis.

I absolutely love this series. Daisy keeps evolving and finding out more about her family. The Immortals are hilarious and the action is packed. The ghosts keep things lively and reveal a few secrets. I can’t wait for the next one
A Most Excellent Midlife Crisis by Robyn Peterman
Book 3 of the Good to the Last Death series. Paranormal women’s fiction. Should be read in series order.
The adventure continues. Or Daisy faces a lot of charges in her life.
Love, friendships, challenges and family. With a lot of laughs and a few tears.
Gideon is a charmer. Gram is strong and yet fragile at the same time. Candy, aka Karma is a mess. Michael, Tim, Charlie…the cast grows as Daisy’s life, jobs and abilities all grow into something new.
It’s hard to say much without spoiling the storyline. It’s fast paced with lots of changes and ridiculous scenarios that keep you deep in the guessing game of what’s next.
I alternated between a paperback copy and an audiobook. The paperback was best for following the characters and situations while the audio is fantastic for the humor and sarcasm of the cast. The narrator, Jessica Almasy, does a wonderful job with voice variations and emotional inflection. I listened to this at a slightly higher speed than my usual for a comfortable reading and conversation speed. 1.4.
Jessica Almasy does an excellent job of narrating all the different voices of the characters in this story about 2 very dramatic revelations and the cliff hanger at the end to be continued in book 4. I laughed, gasped and I am hooked on this series.
Wowza!! Where do I even begin!! So much is discovered in this installment and it has built onto what we have previously discovered. The book continues to be hilarious and I love all of the characters. The plot twists were great and I’m diving into the next book now!
The narrator, Jessica does a phenomenal job, and I LOVE the variety of voices she uses. She definitely elevates the book for me. It’s not a monotone voice. Easy to follow along and distinguish the voices for each characters. Highly recommend.
Finally we get some answers to the questions we have had. Lots of action, romance, friendship and family. These books have to be some of best I have read to date. And I have read a loooooot.
These books have so far been the best diverse team/characters I have ever read/listened to. I can tell you it has been a breath of fresh air so far. And I can not wait to listen to the next in the series….in fact, bye bye I’ll be back in the next review.
Editing to add my audiobook review.
Every book gets better and better. The crazy antics of all the ghost and immortals are constantly making you laugh out load. Daisy armed with super glue a wing and a prayer is trying to navigate this new world she’s found her self in. Still trying to get justice for her dead gay husband she mind dives and finds out way more then she bargains fir. This book is filled with silly one liners, random gross knowledge and older then dirt immortals who have no social graces. There’s so much revealed in this book This book is also full of heart. Real unedited characters who have grown so much and you just cant help but love. Just adore this series. Again the narrator does a wonderful job and truly is perfect for this band of misfits.
It’s madness all of it and it fantastic! Things are getting dicier for the Death Counsler but she faces things head on. I love the lady balls on this character. Really I love them all because Robyn has made them so lovable. Even Karma is growing on me! This book is full of revelations and all the feels. It’s a fantastic read!
Get ready for a head-spinning book that’s FULL of crazy revelations! I LOVE how these books are back to back and pick up right where they left off, so buckle up before you even open to the first page. I think this book is my favorite in the series so far. There’s so much explained, many of the things I didn’t even see coming, yet a lot of unknowns still remain. The characters are great, and down to earth despite their immortality or ghostliness (if that’s even a word). The hilarity continues in some epic banter between everyone and it made me laugh out loud many times. I really really can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book. The epic showdown between Clarissa and Daisy is coming, and I have a feeling it will be epic!
So special
Oh yeah, the bad guy is really gonna git it now, she messed big time with this family. We learn more about Daisy’s past & how the people around her have been much more special than she knew. The good guys are a united front & Daisy learns about more of her gifts.
Jam packed with emotion, action and all the things you could possibly want!
I had no idea I could enjoy this more than the others before it, but it just keeps getting better and better! Funny, unique, endearing, action pact, emotional and so so sad, it overall a read you won’t want to put down! Daisy and her crazy life are in for more drama and secrets than she every could have imagined! And Gideon, what a hunk of alpha male hotness! A truly insane cast of characters you can’t help but adore and a storyline I cannot wait to read the end of!
Book three is full of action and secrets coming to life. Daisy and Gideon are back on (thankfully) and they are working hard with all the other immortals to make the Angel of Mercy pay for her many wicked and ruthless actions over many years. Daisy’s 40th year is amazing and difficult but I think her greatest power, over even her new found strength, is her love and caring for all others (especially her squatters). I can’t wait for the fourth book.
Sadly, I won’t be continuing this series for 91 reasons; John Travolta. It’s one thing for an author to use a fictional character to describe another character like, “Yoga” or “Darth Vader”. But to call the Archangel Michael “John Travolta” 91 times in a 366 page book is juvenile and annoying. The author has also changed the series from cozy to adult. Although I could skip over the content, there are 91 reasons why I don’t care to read on.
Life has a way of letting you know it keeps going regardless if you’re ready or not. Though Daisy has been thrown an epic curve ball she must move forward for the sake of her late husband. Despite the need to bash a couple helpless trees and such I think she has a handle on it…. but then again life had a different idea and felt she could handle more. Thank goodness for glue cause she just might need it for herself.
A Most Excellent Midlife Crisis is the most excellent fun! Favorite book in the series. So far, since I know I’ll love the next one even more! Love Daisy and Gideon. Fresh, fun, and fantastic!
A Most Excellent Midlife Crisis picks up right where Who’s Midlife Crisis Is It Anyway left off. This book is warm, laugh out loud funny, sweet, sassy and all the things I look for in a story. I can’t recommend this series enough. Daisy is my hero.
Oh my goodness, not stop laughter and drama. This as with all of Robyn Peterman’s is one fantastic, stunning of a story. It is the best kind of addiction that you never want to get rid of. I absolutely love Daisy and her crew. The antics that are played out will keep you on your toes. It is extremely well written, the characters are magnificently developed, and the descriptions are radiant. This story is the third book in the series and unfortunately I have to wait to find out what happens next. But boy oh boy the ride getting there is oh so worth it. This is a story and series that is a must read. Do not pass go until you read it.
Book 3 did not disappoint…
Talk about hilarious, fast paced and left me feeling emotionally rung out …lol there really is nothing like curling up with a Robyn Peterman book to give you the whole gamut of FEELS!!!
Now I’m left imagining what’s going to happen next… and I can’t wait.
Brilliant! This was definitely the best book in series! Hilarious, full with love and emotions. It made me laugh and cry like a baby. I love those characters something fierce, especially Daisy.
Loved the story line, action packed. Some surprises happened. Some steamy scenes. Some secrets revealed. LOVE. Friendship. Understanding and forgiveness. It’s an absolute must read!
Oh my goodness! The crazy adventures a Death Counselor can get into. Daisy and her crew of dead house guests are back, bring in her gay dead ex-husband, her love interest The Grim Reaper, and an assorted variety of imortals things can get out of this world interesting in a big hurry.
If you are looking for a fun read that will take you completely away from the crazy reality we live in, and into a world that is so far out there it kinda makes you want to visitit then you need to check out this awesome story.
Daisy, Gideon and the whole lot are back for book #3 of this AMAZING series written by Robyn Peterman. Daisy has had to deal with quite a lot so far since turning the BIG 4-oh and it doesn’t look like its letting up anytime soon. Well what did we expect when a death counselor falls in love with the Grim Reaper? To make matters even more interesting she’s now set out to prove that the Angel of Mercy aka Clarissa has wrongfully condemned her gay dead husband Steve to the darkness. Add in her loving dead squatters, a small super gluing hobby and discovering that her father is actually THE arc angel Michael who looks like John Travolta and what could go wrong?
You know how sometimes when you watch movie sequel or read the next book in a series they aren’t quite as good as the first or don’t live up to the hype? This is NEVER the case with Robyn Peterman Books! Each one just gets better and better. They will never disappoint in sass, hilarity, originality and enjoyment. I have yet to find another author that no matter which book of theirs I read make me laugh till I cry. Her ability to write characters that will forever be ingrained in your head is unmatched. I promise you will either want to be one of them, be loved by one of them, have one of them as your bestie, or even your pet. I know that I want to be Daisy when I grow up! You cannot go wrong with this series. I promise that you will love it so much you’ll reread it until the next book comes out and then just start all over again!
The Midlife Crisis series is a must read! It’s hilarious, smexy, can be a a tear jerker, and has heart. The couldn’t put this one down. A Most Excellent Midlife Crisis moves fast, make you laugh and cry uncontrollably. There are so many surprises, questions are asked and answered but we are left with so many more. I cannot wait until book 4!
