Family…you can’t live with them, and you can’t live without them. It’s hard enough to get along with siblings you’ve grown up with, now try living with your estranged siblings, when you’re all adults and it’s a stipulation in your father’s will. Something is bound to go wrong, right?
This is the premise of A Moment Like You, a sweet and a little emotional enemies-to-lovers romance and the second book in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brother series. Each story will feature one of the Aldridge brothers, all successful billionaire’s, forced to live together due to a devious and puzzling scheme their estranged father dreamed up before his death.
Everyone’s supposed to live under one roof in a tiny, remote town in Oregon for the next eighteen months, some with and some without their partners, to ensure they will either sink or swim. Not a single one of the Aldridge’s need their father’s money, but they decide to honor the condition of the will, otherwise lives are at stake. The jury’s still out on if they’ll make it.
“You’re the bright light that came into my life to push away the darkness.”
Henry Merkel Aldridge, the eldest son of William Aldridge, was raised by his paternal grandfather, Cyril Merkel, who was his mentor and instilled sage advice to a young and impressionable Henry:
“You don’t need friends, Henry. You need allies—and watch out for your enemies. Always keep them close. The rest…they are here to serve you. Make sure they fear you. Once you try to be friendly with them, they’ll just take advantage of you.”
Henry’s mother, Debra, thought she could force William to marry her if she was pregnant, not knowing he had a previous engagement, otherwise known as a pre-arranged marriage. Debra left Henry to Cyril to raise as his own son, and when he died he left Henry the Merkel Hotels and Spas empire after his death, Henry later made it even more successful.
“I’m not holding you back. I’m shaping you before you get to the top of the hill.”
Sophia Aragon was hired as Henry’s assistant after she interned at Merkel, making herself indispensable, due to her hard work and take-no-crap attitude. She had been shouldering the financial burden of taking care of her parents; they were heavily in debt due to her mother’s stroke twelve years earlier. Smart and ambitious, she’d applied and been denied other positions within the company, it seemed Henry wanted her by his side. Sophia couldn’t afford to quit working for him, as much as she wanted to, and when Henry insisted she join him in Oregon, she had no other choice. Not after he bought a house for her parents and saw to her mother’s medical needs, all so she could have them by her side and not worry about them.
“I want more than to be wanted. I have to know that the guy I’m with is willing to hand me his heart and won’t shatter mine because I’m no longer convenient.”
Sophia had no time for a boyfriend, her new job and family didn’t allow her any extra free time, not that her previous boyfriends had been keepers. The one man she spent all her time was completely unavailable, there was something she knew about Henry that she couldn’t or wouldn’t budge on, something Cyril had done to ensure his future success; a previous arrangement that would need to be fulfilled soon. But when sparks begin to fly between these two, they can’t help but act on it, despite knowing it’s a temporary fling. Unless Henry can somehow amend the past, to remedy the future.
“Sophia is all that matters, and changing my ways is not only for her benefit, but mine.”
The epilogue is amazing! The cast of brothers is amazing and I’m excited to see what else is in store for the Aldridge Bros.
An intense enemies to lovers romance! The entire cast of characters made this book memorable and fun to read! The authenticity of the characters is real and genuine. It was the perfect hea that I loved! Great job!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the second book in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers. This is a series of standalone books each other six brothers who have been forced to lives and live together in their family home in the tiny town of Baker’s Creek, Oregon. These six have never really known each other and quiet frankly don’t really have any love for one another. This is Henry’s story and it is a good one. He is the business tycoon of his family. He alone owns the Merkel Hotels and Spas. This poor guy was raised by a mother who was angry as saw him as the pawn and a father and grandfather who saw him as an asset to their business empire. It broke my heart that this is all Henry has ever known. He does not know what it is like to love someone. What it is like to have real friendships or even what it means to be happy. That is until he meets Sophie. She has been working for Merkel since she came straight out of college. This girl is so good at what she does that it didn’t take her long to become her boss’s assistant. Sophie too is a great daughter who took this job to pay for her mothers treatments and care along with her living expenses. She is going to help them even if that means putting up with a boss that challenges her each and every day and not in the best of ways either. When Henry is forced to move back to Baker’s Creek Sophie thinks that she will be able to stay in New York and run the company while he is away. However that is not what Henry wants. He wants her with him. This is the story of a group of brother’s forced to live together and as time goes by they are becoming a family. A strange thing happens to Henry too and his is falling in love with Baker’s Creek. A place you would never think he would fall in love with and along with that things with Sophie are changing too. This book is funny and sweet and will have you swooning over these characters I really enjoyed this book and this series is turning out to be really really good too.
This is the second book in the series, and while it could be read alone, you will understand more after reading book 1 Loved you once.
Here we have another Aldridge brother, Henry, who has a big ego, and is a workaholic. So when he’s called back home to Baker’s Creek, he’s not happy at all. Leaving his life behind is near impossible, especially without his assistant Sophia with him, even though he knows deep down it’s a huge mistake considering how he truly feels for her.
Sophia has worked for Henry for 3 years now, and yes she finds him very attractive, it’s also a line she will not cross. But when he tells her she’s going to Baker’s Creek along with him, now what is she going to do, she has to go but can she keep her feelings away?
Sit back relax and enjoy their story!
5 amazing stars for this one, grab it ASAP!
I loved the first book but this one is my current favourite!
“If Lucifer had a twin, Henry would be him.”
Seriously, in the previous novel, Loved You Once, Henry Aldridge originally came across as a grade A, repressed, uptight a-hole! But, this story totally redeemed him in ways that had my heart melting and my arms aching to hold him.
“Every situation that I’ve experienced with her has been transforming, breathtakingly powerful, and unique.”.
I’ve gotta say that I’ve got a massive girl crush on Sophia Aragon. She’s immensely capable, efficient and really knows how to handle Henry. She was loyal and hardworking but also innately feminine. She was most definitely Henry’s work wife well before they entered a romantic relationship. I adored Sophia’s gradual discovery of Henry’s softer side as the story progressed. Their chemistry was fiery and challenging. They slotted together like a yin-yang symbol.
“She moans, making me crave her even more. Not just her body, but her heart, her soul, and most of all, I crave to be part of her dreams.”
I absolutely adored this story and loved all the characters. I loved the relationship that the brothers were building, the strong female friendships, and I also loved the introduction of further characters like Sophia’s father who helped Henry along his personal journey. I enjoyed the banter, camaraderie and sexiness. I’m super excited for the rest of this series!
I think I might be addicted to the Aldridge family. This is only the second book of the series but I already feel like I need the rest of the family’s stories like right now.
In book one, I wasn’t Henry’s biggest fan. He’s bossy and standoffish. But I knew that there had to be more than meets the eye. His book showed that that’s absolutely true.
Sophia is the BEST!! I loved her in book one. She’s the glue that’s going to keep this craziness together and she’s holding everything down. She’s the who makes things happen. She’s so much more than an assistant and learning that Henry 100% knows that made me so happy.
I really didn’t think Henry would be one that would bring the swoon but wow, did he. There are so many twists in this story and I just couldn’t get enough. I am so curious about how the Aldridge’s are going to help Baker’s Creek thrive and grow as a family. I am already impatient for the next brother to get his HEA!
This book was incredible! I read it in one sitting because I just couldn’t take breaks, the story sucked me in right in the prologue! I need more of Baker’s creek!
This story was not what I was expecting.
Henry was not what I was expecting! This man has so much love to give but doesn’t know quite how to do it nor does he think he is worthy of being loved in return.
Sophia is a strong, independent woman who thinks she has to take care of everyone. What she doesn’t realize is that Henry has been taking care of her all along.
There are few bumps in their road to forever but I think it just makes them stronger.
You will appreciate and love this story more if you read the first book in this series!
What happens when you take grown men with the same DNA from different walks of life and drop them in a sleepy little town and demand that they become a family?
Book 2 in the series and it’s just as entertaining as the first. Henry is the first born and as such thinks he knows it all. It’s hilarious when he realizes that he in fact, does not know it all. Each of the siblings has their strength, I like seeing their relationships unfold and evolve.
Heir to the Merkel Hotels and Spas empire that has thrived under his watchful eye, thanks in no small part to his right hand and assistant Sophia. Their relationship is so fun to watch, he pushes her buttons, she pounds his right back. Neither wanting to admit that there could be something brewing, but just when we think one thing, the author throws us a curve. I truly am enjoying the series and cannot wait to read more on the other 4 brothers and find out the secrets they keep.
A Moment Like You is the second book in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers, and this is the story of Henry and Sophia. If you have read the firsts book you know a bit about the story of these brothers.
Sophia is Henry’s assistant, she is the only one who has stay there and doesnt get scared about his mood, because Henry always looks angry or mad at something. You can see from the beginning that they are the perfect match, but not everything will be easy for Henry.
Once Henry makes his feeling clear for Sophia, she doesnt trust in him and that’s normal because all Henry’s previous relationship were kind of arrange and had a deadline.. so she doesnt want to get involve just to have her heart break again. But like the stubborn man that he is he does everything he can to show Sophia that he really wants a real relationship with him. And once they start a person show in the small town demanding to Henry to comply with the agreement that they we had, so this will be another bump in the way for Henry and Sophia HEA.
If you want to know what happen you need to read this book as soon as is available! you will enjoy it as much as you did with the first book. I lovee that the relationship between the brothers is getting better and better with time and that they start taking care of each other.
Can’t wait to read the next book!! Honestly I’m so excited for the whole series!! each brother has something that makes you want to read his story so bad.
I have been so excited for this book! I love the Aldrich brothers and Bakers Creek Billionaire Brothers Series! This is the 2nd book and I have been anxiously awaiting it’s release.
Henry Aldridge is the eldest brother and a Hotel tycoon. He has to spend the next 18 months in Baker’s Creek with his siblings according to his father’s will. He has his assistant Sophia stay with him, under much protest. She was looking forward to having time away from his overbearing, arrogant, demanding attitude. But he has realized he can’t bear to be away from her.
Watching Henry open up to love and family was wonderful. Sophia has exceeded his expectations over the past years working for him and they have formed a seamless partnership. He has gone above and beyond to take care of her, mostly without her knowledge. As they let down their guards and begin to explore what they mean to each other, their love is a beautiful thing. The siblings becoming real brothers is an amazing and heartwarming experience. How Sophia’s parents and Martina were taken care of was just short of brilliant. This was just a pleasure to read!
The Epilogue. What can I say except I love Epilogues and this one was great! Can’t wait to read the next book to not only find out about the next brother, but to keep up with Hayes & Blaire and Henry & Sophia! Five Raving Stars!
4.5 Stars!
This is book two in the Baker’s Creek series, can be read as a standalone but best if read in order. Henry is the business man of the family. He runs Merkel Hotel and Spas. Henry life has been about business. Growing up his mother resented him and between his mother and grandfather they made decisions on what his future would look like. He has never had time for friendships, lasting relationships, or love. Then you have Sophie her life revolves around her family. She works hard so that she can help her parents out. She has career goals and she is looking to make those happen at Merkel. Henry and Sophie have a dependent hate/love relationship. Henry’s move to Baker’s Creek was the push they needed to realize their relationship is maybe not just work dependent.
I loved how the moved to Baker’s Creek has made Henry realize that their is more to life then work. I loved seeing the changes happening to him through out the story. The siblings are putting aside their differences and becoming a family and making Baker’s Creek their home. I thought the enemies to lovers worked well for Henry and Sophie’s story. I loved how Henry was working in the background for so long to make sure that Sophie was taken care of. I loved how their story unfolded. I enjoyed how they navigated the roadblocks that presented themselves. Henry and Sophie has been a team for so long at work it was transitioned into their personal relationship.
This is another must read. This is an excellent enemies to lovers story. The characters have the perfect amount of depth. You get to see more of the family. There is excellent chemistry as well as banter! It is a book that once you start you will have a hard time putting it down!
At the beginning of this book, I hated Henry. Could not stand him. He was a self-centered, egotistical jerk…or so I thought. As his layers were peeled back, we see there is so much more to him and the decisions he makes. What seem like selfish decisions and remarks are really made with Sophia’s best interests at heart (even though no one else can see it that way). Watching all of this unfold was a beautiful redemption! I ended up really loving the both of them. Sophia is inherently likeable and really puts/keeps Henry in his place. I can’t wait for the rest of the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers!
A beautiful story about personal growth and developing relationships. I loved this book as the story developed until we got to the end, and survived so many twists and turns in the journey.
Henry and Sophia have a complicated relationship; he is the CEO of Merkel Hotels and Spas and Sophia is his assistant, except she is so much more than her title. She is amazing in her ability to organize his life, solve problems before he even knows about them, and be more like a business partner than an underling. And who else could put up with his demanding schedule?
I loved the way their relationship developed. Henry has always depended on Sophia, but has also had her best interests in mind. He was more of a mentor than simply a boss. And Sophia is uber organized, intelligent, and ambitious.
This all centers around Henry’s father’s will that required his six sons, one daughter-in-law, and a grandson to move to Baker’s Creek, OR for 18 months. If they don’t, everyone in town loses their jobs and businesses. Six sons from six different mothers, it seems William Aldridge got around. The sons spent summers together when they were younger, but grew apart as they grew up. Now they all have to live together and find the family ties they missed.
Claudia Burgoa’s writing has always been superb, but she really excelled in this book. It seems she just keeps getting better.
I received an ARC of A Moment Like You and this is my honest review.
As usual Claudia has given us another reason to love her. The Baker’s Creek saga continues with Henry and Sophie’s story. But this is so much more than that. It shows that the love and growth of the whole family is continuing. I can’t wait for more soon this family may overpopulate thy town. Sweet and heart warming we get to see everyone growing together as a family and getting past that has been destroying them for years. I love Claudia and this is just another reason to. Thanks for another great read.
This is book 2 in the Bakers Creek Billionaire Brother series by Claudia Burgoa. It’s about 7 brothers who now have to band together to save 2 towns from their wicked, deceased father.
Next up is Henry. He’s the owner of Merkel Hotel and Spas. He’s the devil…atleast according to his assistant, Sophia. But little does Sophia know, most of what Henry does, he does with her I mind.
This is a cute small town romance and leaves me wanting the other brothers stories ASAP!
I am falling so hard for these sexy Aldridge brothers and The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series! I absolutely love Henry and Sophia’s hilarious, moving and sizzling, enemies to lovers romance! Sophia has been Henry’s assistant for three years and knows his company better than he does. He drives her crazy with his demands but she needs this job to take care of her parents. Now he is making her move to Baker’s Creek to be close to him during the strict conditions of his father’s will. She doesn’t understand why he wants her there, and why he is going to great lengths to please her while being so infuriating at the same time. Henry grew up privileged but without any kind of love. He never had a healthy role model so he struggles to show his feelings for Sophia, and his brothers. He never realized what he needed until Sophia came into his life and then being forced to live with the brothers he never really knew. He had been so closed off and is now slowly learning how to let others in. But just as Henry and Sophia are finding their way to each other, his grandfathers outdated contracts threaten to break them apart before they get started. Henry is so swoony beneath his hard shell, he is so kind, and generous, and my heart broke as he showed his vulnerable side that just wanting to be loved. Sophia is so fun, and sassy, incredibly smart, and a magician at keeping everything running smoothly. She and Henry are so good together, their slow burn, sexual tension was off the charts as they learned to truly trust each other. All the brothers are unique in their own way and it is so much fun getting to know them better, watching how they forge brotherly bonds, and their sibling banter is hilarious!
I really enjoyed how narrators, Aaron Shedlock, and Stacy Gonzalez brought these characters and story to life. They easily bring out the push/pull between both Henry and Sophia and allowed us to experience their vulnerabilities and strengths, and sizzling chemistry! I always love Shedlock’s performances but this is my first listen to Gonzalez and I thought she did an amazing job.
This is such a fun and heartwarming series. I know there are more secrets that are coming their way and I can’t wait to find out more about these sexy Aldridge men and the incredible women who challenge and love them!
This is the second book in this engaging series and I do recommend that you read these books in the order of release because it will give you better understanding of the bigger story being told here. As for this book, I enjoyed it. Henry and Sophia were wonderful characters. Their interactions and banter keep you focused and entertained. I found Sophia incredibly easy to like. This woman had a backbone and was clever and spunky. Henry was like a surprise discovery. You might think you are getting one thing but as you peel away his layers and really get to know him, you get a much different picture. I am truly enjoying this series and I’m very eager to read more of it. This is my independent, impartial review.
Sophia and Henry’s story is book two in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers Series and it can be read as a stand alone. Henry Aldridge is gorgeous. He is also brilliant, ruthless and a heartless business man. Sophia unhappily works for him. She has a narrow minded focus. Her future is set a certain way, and she blames her boss for it not happening.
I really liked Henry. While his heart was always in the right place, he frequently put his foot in his mouth and spent a lot of time trying to win Sophia over. He was adorably socially inept but along with some help from his brothers he manages to almost get the girl. Sophia also finally realizes it is okay to deviate from the path she set for herself. Unfortunately, Henry’s father has thrown in a few more twists that make for some interesting obstacles for them to overcome. A cute story. Looking forward to the rest of the brothers books!
Surprisingly enough, I loved Henry. I didn’t care for him as a side character in the first book, Loved You Once. He was cold and unfeeling. This emotionless robot.
At the beginning of A Moment Like You, that’s still who he is. But the longer he’s in Baker’s Creek and spending time with his brothers, the more he starts to transform. That’s not to say he doesn’t continue to make mistakes. At times you will want to reach into the pages just to smack some sense into him. His transformation to decent human being was the best plot point. Once we learn more of his upbringing and the way he was treated, it all started to make a little more sense.
Sophia was a fun character. She’s almost too much of a martyr, but her friendliness and sweet nature win you over. Her family was an interesting addition to the story, but with so many characters it was starting to be difficult to keep track who was who.
The main issue here was wonderfully dealt with. I appreciated that both Henry and Sophia acted so maturely and caring of others, and I was so pleased to see Henry open to therapy. I wish that was discussed openly more often.
Looking forward to the next in the series. I feel as if each story adds a little more and sucks me in just so much tighter.
