USA Today Bestselling author Claudia Burgoa presents a witty, funny & heartfelt billionaire, enemies-to-lovers romance. I hate my boss. He’s the devil in disguise—but I just can’t seem to stay away. When my employer Henry Alderidge is set to claim a large inheritance from his deceased father, he drags me along with him—because he needs his assistant. I have no choice but to move across the … have no choice but to move across the country with Satan’s bastard and stay with him for over a year in order to pay for my mother’s debts.
Henry drags me to a small town where everyone knows your business and to a family that’s more broken than close. The Alderidge brothers are handsome, arrogant, and sinful.
They’re also too much to handle.
Henry’s dad lost his mind before he died, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I don’t know how I’ll survive for eighteen months with this man.
Except you should never judge a book by its cover. And Henry Alderidge has more hiding beneath the surface than I ever thought possible…
The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga packed with the perfect mix of angst, tears, and laughs. If you like strong heroines & alpha males, steamy romances and witty love stories, this series is for you!

Oh Henry!
I could tell he was going to be special. All that bark had to lead somewhere. I didn’t realize what a romantic he was! Henry is hiding a whole lot of awesome underneath the gruff exterior. His not so secret crush has a way of changing everything.
Sexy, sweet, and not without it’s own brand of crazy, A Moment Like You is exactly what you need to fall further in love with all the Alderidge boys. If you didn’t already have a favorite, you’re going to have a tougher time deciding now.
Henry & Sophia!
We met them in Bakers Creek series book 1, Loved You Once, and their chemistry was hot then, it only gets better here.
This story was everything.
You think it’s just a regular office romance / enemies-to-lovers but it’s more. It’s hidden feelings. It’s emotional but overall it’s hot.
Henry starts off being all broody, moody, and mean, but slowly changes to a more approachable, lovable guy.
There were times when I didn’t like him or his antics.
I understand wanting to be near the one you love but felt his way was way too controlling and manipulative.
Hardheaded and stubborn even when the clear solution was right in front of him.
But…
It totally worked for him.
I loved Sophia when I met her in Loved You Once. She cracked me up. It didn’t change here. I highly enjoyed reading about her and getting to know her better. The way she takes no from anyone. Her strong, powerful, badass persona is #goals.
Overall, another success by the amazing Claudia Burgoa.
Claudia took this series to another level!! I absolutely loved it! It reminded me how you can’t always judge a person by first impressions! A Moment Like You was the 2nd book in Claudia’s Baker Creek Billionaires Brothers Series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading in order to get the best experience!! It was redeeming, emotional, and sexy!!
Sophia hated her boss, but at the same time she couldn’t leave. When he had to move to the other side of the country, he made her come with him. Would she make the move or finally put her foot down?
Henry didn’t have much of a choice, his dad made it impossible to not follow his wishes. He wanted Sophia by his side and he would do anything to make that happen. But when his past caught up to him, would he loose her for good?
I was hoping Henry & Sophia’s story would be next and Claudia delivered! Their connection was amazing in the first book and it continued in this one!! My favorite of the series so far! Can’t wait to see what is next!
I loved reading this whole book. I couldn’t not put it down and the night of sleep I lost was so worth it. This is the second book in the series. The story had a easy to understand flow to it. The characters chemistry is hot. This one had me laughing and crying. I love this series and look forward to more.
The hotel mogul meets his match.
A Moment Like You is book two in ‘The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers’ series by Claudia Burgoa. It’s a six-part series and each book features a different Aldrige brother, who are all forced to abandon their lives and live together in the family home in the small town of Baker’s Creek, Oregon, that their father practically owned outright.
Book 1 ‘Loved You Once’ was where we first met Henry, and his leading lady, Sophia Aragon. They were more enemies than lovers, and in fact, they weren’t even lovers then. They fought, constantly, and even though Sophia pushes all Henry’s buttons, he knows she’s the only woman he wants to do her job.
Now, she’s being forced by Henry to move to Baker’s Creek also, as he needs her around him. Sophia, just wants him to let her go. Or give her the job she really wants.
Both are in denial about how they feel about the other.
But, as the slow-burning story unravels, it’s Henry who is pushing for more in their personal relationship. Sophia is wary, she knows what Henry’s like with his woman and doesn’t want to end up discarded and forgotten, but their attraction only grows stronger the longer she stays in such close proximity to Henry. And it’s Sophia who makes that final move to bring the couple closer.
Henry was portrayed as hard and close-off in book 1, but here, his true colors, and emotion shine clearly.
He’s a swoon-worthy hero and one I’d like for myself.
We also got to see the brothers becoming more of a tight-knit unit as they come to terms with staying together.
This was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for book 3’s release to read more from these amazing brothers.
I’m really enjoying this series. While the plot focuses specifically on Henry and Sophia, there is still the mystery surrounding the Aldridge patriarch’s will and the constant hurdles involved. I had a feeling Henry was a big ball of mush beneath his gruff demeanor and I was completely right. I wanted to cheer when he decided to let go of the control his dead father STILL seemed to have over him and live life his own way. Sophia’s no-nonsense attitude was the perfect match for Henry. Her strength and love of family knows no bounds. This family has absolutely grown on me and I loved getting more glimpses at each brother’s personality. Looking forward to the next one!
Have you met the Aldridge brother’s yet? Each book is essentially a stand-alone, but book 1 (Loved You Once) introduces you to the brothers.
So this book is Henry’s romance, in away it’s his redemption. He learns to be human and follow his heart, instead of just doing what his grandfather has set before him. He learns that not everything in life is a business transaction.
“She unravels me. But the moment I touched her, I became undone.”-Henry Aldridge.
Sophia is Henry’s #1 assistant. She feels over looked, held back, and underappreciated in her job. She wants to hate her boss, but she is attracted to him. She wants to quit her job, but she would never find another one that compensates her the way her current one does. Henry forces her to move to Baker’s Creek when his father’s will requires it of him and his brothers. She develops a friendship with the other women in the Aldridge brother’s lives. Sophia is a female character that women will love. She is strong, sassy, and is devoted to her family.
I love watching these brother’s grow. I can not wait for the next book or the rest of the series for that matter.
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series. This series is about 6 brothers who are forced to abandon their old lives and live together in the family home in their small hometown. Sophie has worked at Henry’s company since leaving college and is now his assistant, and the salary and benefits to care for her ill mother. though she would be left to run the business for Henry, but he had other ideas and drags her home with him. As the brothers learn to cohabit and learn more about each other true feeling come to light. This is a well written story which is filled with angst, emotions, witty banter, and is a humorous and steamy read. I was captivated throughout this addictive page turner and I look forward to reading more in this fascinating series, and I recommend for all.
I knew Henry would be special and Claudia did not disappoint. A story of love, finding yourself and family. Full five stars!! Loved every page!
A Moment Like You is Henry and Sophia’s story and is emotional read. This is the second book in the series, however I read it as a standalone.
The connection between Henry and Sophia wonderful. They have a great rhythm with their banter and humor. Henry is a tenacious man, but Sophia gives as good as she gets. Henry’s character is one of those that grows on you and by the end of the book you just adore him. Sophie has been working for Henry for a while, but once they are forced out of their normal habitat and land in Baker’s Creek that feelings are discovered.
As much as the story focuses on Henry and Sophie’s romance, this is a story of brotherhood and family coming together. Some of my favorite moments are when the brothers are on the pages.
Claudia writes fun, unique stories. She has a magical way of creating these characters that you aren’t sure you can like but by the end you love. There is a little bit of angst at times. It is such a well written story. This is a refreshing twist on the enemies to lovers trope. You are so engaged from page one you don’t always see what is coming next. There are several “Oh what?” moments in the story that keep it unique and engaging. This was a 4/5 read for me. You should add this to you TBR Pile.
When I started reading this book, I had no idea that it was book 2 in a series but it makes sense as there’s obviously a backstory that would be much easier understood if you came in at the beginning. So, this was my introduction. So, as a standalone read I can say that it was very enjoyable. However, it did feel like I was the new friend coming into an established group. There were a lot of people & I had no idea about the relationships involved, which did make it very confusing at times. As for the main story of Henry & Sophia, it was lovely. I loved the progression that the reader had of Henry’s personality and his reasoning. Likewise, I really enjoyed reading of Sophia’s family struggles.
A Moment Like You Claudia Burgoa ‘A Moment Like You’ is book Two in ‘The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series’ by Claudia Burgoa.
This series is the story of six brothers, all forced to abandon their lives and live together in the family home in the tiny town of Baker’s Creek, Oregon. Six brothers who never really knew each other and shared a good amount of dislike for one another. This book is Henry’s story.
I truly enjoyed this book. I loved watching the brother’s relationships to each other grow and strengthen. I really loved Henry’s transformation. A Henry in love is such a beautiful thing. However their path was not an easy one.
There are a lot of things put in place by both Henry’s father and grandfather that can and will cause them all sorts of problems. This where I say ‘don’t ever underestimate the power of family’. Because when they put their heads together, there is no telling what could happen. Also(hopefully not giving away too much or any spoilers) even though their father’s lawyer, Jerome Parrish, is pretty much the bad guy through all of this, I felt like we saw a couple of redeeming qualities in him in this one.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series, book Three ‘Defying Our Forever’ which will be Pierce and Leyla’s story. They have so many secrets and I can’t wait to find out what they are.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Henry Aldridge just obliterated all my previous billionaire book boyfriends and claimed the top spot! And I want to have a tiny fraction of Sophia’s sass and smartness. A Moment Like You was a dreamy, aching, swoony and magical romance.
Henry Aldridge is the most infuriating boss ever! And Sophia is the only one smart and capable enough to keep up with him. He is controlling, arrogant, successful and just a beautiful disaster. He had to move to Baker’s Creek to honour his dead father’s will along with his estranged brothers to save the town. And he is forcing Sophia to move leaving behind her needy family. Is his need to keep Sophia close to him at any cost something more important than work?
Henry had a troubled and loveless upbringing that moulded him into this mistrustful and aloof and cold person. But deep inside he is caring and protective person. Sophia is the colour and joy of his dull life. But he has this odd way to show that. Sophia doesn’t care that he is the business mogul. She challenges him. She doesn’t take his orders without pushing back. She is confident and intelligent and fierce. But her heart is a fragile place. They unknowingly developed trust and respect and intense feelings while working together closely. Now they just have to accept and embrace it. Of course it won’t be easy! There will be heartbreak and misunderstanding and everything! But the happily ever after will be the sweetest. Their chemistry is so adorable and soecial.I just love reading about the big Aldridge family with their quirks, love, connections, pseudo fights and everything!
It’s always exciting and entertaining to read about an alpha billionaire being brought to knees by an amazing woman. And Claudia Burgoa has just nailed it in A Moment Like You.
Received ARC for honest review
What a dysfunctional family this is but underneath all that anger, lies someone who just needs love. Henry is the next brother to have to move and I was laughing because Sophie has to tag along. Their chemistry is amazing and what makes this story so much more is the way everyone has to come together. I couldn’t put this down.
I just listened to the audiobook of this story and listening to the narrators bring the story to life is even better.
Received in exchange for a honest review. This as so entertaining. This love hate reminded me of the Heath Ledger movie Ten things I hate about you. The girl was was constantly annoyed by his actions and yet loved him as well. Saw through the tough facade once he allowed her to and saw the real person and was confused by it because it didn’t fit all his actions.
Henry was raised to not care. He was raised to think everything is a business transaction. The man could run a hotel empire like nobody’s business but when it came to interact with people nope not happening. He was rough and gruff. Except he isn’t really all bear. When it came to Sophie we see a heart of gold. Especially when we learn about all he has done for Sophie and why in that moment by the fire pit with his brother Hayes. That moment really has you just fall in love with the man. In this book, Henry tries to change for Sophie. He wants her in his life for more than just a assistant. He wants her as his equal and partner. Does he go about it in the most romantic and best way? NO. definitely not. But do we see him change and learn more about himself and his past. Yes. Do we see him begin to open up and show us who Henry is and can be? Yes. As he opens himself up to Sophie, we see Sophie see he isn’t the man she thought he was. He is kind and caring. And his interactions with his brothers are a hoot. Especially Vance and Beacon. These brothers began this series as enemies and are becoming family. they are fighting for one another and supporting each other no matter what. They are forging a bond and discovering what it means to be a family.
Sophie. What to say about her? she is intelligent, funny, family oriented, loyal and kind. I love her sarcastic wit and how she keeps Henry in check. I love how Henry’s brothers are quick to be there for her no matter what. I love how she loves fiercely and is so amazing to her family and friends. Even to a stranger who is hurting her heart. I was surprised with how she helped ME (initials for the antagonist) there. That girl was a spoiled hot mess and Sophie was kind to her. That was just shocking but also truly shows Sophie’s character and how sweet she is.
The story was fun, filled with witty sarcastic banter, family that has you smile and antics that have you laugh and swoon. the romance was a slow burn and love hate when it began. Claudia Burgoa does a great job showing us who Henry is and wants to be and how Sophie is the one who he changes for. How family is not just blood but those you love and let in. The brother’s slowly coming together is great to see and this witty romance was so much fun to read.
I love this series and these brothers so much! This is book 2 and Henry’s story. Henry is a hotel mogul and very cold. He’s the oldest of the 7 Aldridge brothers, deserted by his parents and raised by his similarly cold grandfather. Everything is a business transaction to them, even a marriage. Sophia is his assistant. She’s doesn’t take his crap and gives as good as she gets. She’s smart and fierce. I love her. I loved seeing Henry fall for her and see inside his head. Everything he was doing, though it may not have looked liked it from the outside, he was doing for her. Henry’s walls began to come down after his brother Hayes talked to him and I’m so glad. He’s a good man brought up in a different world. Sophia and Henry were made for each other.
Sophia is Henry’s assistant but there’s a definite attraction. Henry has never been one for a serious relationship but will Sophia change that? Sophia has a lot on her plate but will she ever find a man to share her life with?
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is my most anticipated book this month. I have been counting the days and when it hit my kindle I could not wait to read it. And it delivered. It is awesome. I absolutely adored Henry and Sophie’s story. This is book 2 in the The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers and this series is interconnected and does NOT stand alone. You really should read book 1 first and then this story otherwise you might be very confused.
Sophie and Henry work together and in this story we learn how deep their work relationship goes as Henry forces her to move to Baker’s Creek with him and his family. These two were awesome characters. Henry drives Sophie crazy in the very best way but he also needs her very badly. They have a very complicated relationship but also a very true and deep relationship.
But Henry also has lots of secrets and so as they fall for each other, secrets start to come out and those secrets could hurt what the brothers are trying to create in Baker’s Creek.
This book was absolutely wonderful. Words cannot even tell you how awesome it is and it’s full of surprises along the way I am not spoiling. I cannot wait for more in this series and if you are as hooked as me on this series, you will adore it.
A Moment Like You is book 2 in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series and it was amazing! Henry is a business tycoon and the owner of Merkel Hotels and Spas. He’s never really known love or happiness, until he meets Sophie. Sophie is Henry’s assistant, but really she’s so much more. She wants to hate him, but she’s attracted to him. I adored the connection and banter between Sophie and Henry. This book is heartwarming, touching, and entertaining, the characters real and genuine, with amazing chemistry and passion. It’s a definite must read and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is the second book in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series and focuses on Henry and his executive assistant, Sophia. This can be read as a standalone since much of the premise for the series is explained at the beginning of the book but reading the first book will add layers, allowing the reader to watch the brothers become the family they never were while they were all younger. I find the family dynamics of these brothers to be a big draw to the series.
What worked for me – watching the Aldridge brothers grow closer and circle the wagons to protect and help each other when needed a real treat and were some of my favorite moments in the book. I really enjoyed seeing them interact in a much more friendly and loving manner than they did at the beginning of the first book. Bonus points were given for this being a workplace romance, one of my favorite tropes. Without giving too much away, I liked that the antagonist was redeemable. We need more female empowerment in romance. The hero didn’t give blindly or without thought. He quietly pushed the heroine forward instead of holding her back or allowing her give up her own ambitions to be with him. The glimpses of Pierce and Leyla had me eagerly awaiting their next scenes together and were also some of my favorite moments in the book.
What could have been better – Readers never get to see the first sparks of the attraction. We aren’t shown the moments when each realized that they were drawn to the other. When the characters have their “I want more” moments, it felt like it came out of the blue and was rushed. Theses lightbulb moments are my favorite part of any romance novel and not having it left me feeling a little robbed.
I would recommend this book to romance readers who like series based on family members, a little drama, billionaires, and sassy heroines.
