it got better as I went on! In the beginning I was quite put off by the fact that she used a lot of more modern colloquialisms in the speech of the main character when she was still back in 1881 and it just was distracting. That’s honestly something and editor should’ve picked up. But the essential story between the hero and the heroine was a good story with a good satisfying ending
What a way to have your life go and what a change. To be in the eighteen hundreds and all of a sudden be in the twenty first century. Just imagine the difference and what would a person think or imagine was the matter. And then to try to get back and have to depend on one man to do it. Then throw in the danger on top of that. What a ride. I love time travel and this author is amazing at writing about it in her stories. I recommend them. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

My review :
What a lady to do when freedom is within her reach but she is duty bound to going back home …
After reading Trapped in Time, Mrs Denise Daye debut novel, I needed to read its sequel.
And I was not disappointed.
I like it when the time travel trope is a bit twisted, it is so often a modern woman sent back in time, that for once it is the opposite, it is to be remarked.
Isabella is a very resilient woman, at first I was upset at her refusal for help, but I am me born in the last part of the XXth century, when she is a lady used to have people filling her needs and no one to really trust. Plus mind troubles were lot kindly treated, it was asylum instead of rest home.
When finally she accepts she needs help, it comes from the most unusual person, but also the most obvious to know what it is to have lost everything.
While she lives at the present time, she is still a XIXth young woman, with her upbringing taking a over on all her decisions. Despite having found a place and a reason to stay, she feels compiled to return.
Liam is a kind and caring man, even his business is proof of his good heart. As a man of today, he struggles to believe Isabella. Sure, she has a different bearing than any other woman he has encountered, still …
But his good heart will do anything to help her even let her go if it is her true desire.
And it is his pride that may cost them everything.
It was an entertaining and fun read with very likable characters, a bit twisted.
