Charlotte O’Shay is an author to watch. Her debut novel, The Marriage Ultimatum hit the ground running and maintained its 5-star status. Her new release, A Model Engagement, is another stand alone hit that ingeniously includes a few characters from book one to entice her reader base.
Lacy Reed’s modeling career and income ended at the hands of a vicious blackmailer. Almost broke, she accepts a job from Collin Devlin as a caretaker for his mother. Unaware her position would require her to pose as Collin’s fiancée, she sucks it up and plays along.
The resulting situation brings together the unlikely couple, neither of whom are looking for love, but both find in each other what they truly need.
This is a delightful tale by this up and coming author. I look forward to reading more! I recommend this book to anyone who loves a fun easy read in a heartwarming contemporary romance. I give it a 4.5. Aside from a few editing errors, the book is well worth the read.
One of the things I struggle with is my fear of beginning the second book of a trilogy or any set of novels because I’m worried that I will not enjoy next book as much. That being said, The Model Engagement helped me overcome this complex AND surpassed my expectations!
Charlotte O’Shay managed to build a plot throughout her novel that was both enticing and relevant. As a young woman in NYC, Lacey’s story feels like something that could happen to any woman I know. It’s not shocking that right after reading the book, I read about women who had been in Lacey’s position in Hollywood.
Connor and Lacey’s love story was unique and riveting. Charlotte’s attention for detail and description made me feel like I was watching their relationship unfold in theaters.
Whether your reading for a stimulating page-turner or a dramatic tale of love, I assure you The Model Engagement will not dissapoint.
I thoroughly enjoyed part two of the City Of Dreams series. Charlotte O’Shay has a way of transporting you with her writing. Her concise, descriptive writing techniques not only allow me to picture the setting of the story but also help me relate to the title character ,Lacey Reed, and her braulic love interest Connor. I often found myself wondering what I would do if I was in a similar situation- A handsome, sweet man, lavish gifts, a house on the water & romantic boat rides make it is easy to forget that it is all wrapped up in a business deal. It is hard to put the book down as this romance develops and you continue to learn more about the characters pasts. I also found this particular story to be incredibly relevant to what is going on in the media landscape in 2017. Each evening as I was reading about Lacey’s predicament I was also reading about real life Hollywood Starlets going through the same. Romantic , relevant and real!
A great follow up to a strong first part of the series. Looking forward to part 3
